    This video is great! Up until today I knew exactly zero about pachinko, but you're spot on about walking past the automatic doors and being bombarded by the sounds of the various machines. Very cool upload!

    Since the Japanese Yen has fallen against other currencies, 2000 Yen are not even 15 USD / EUR any more. Going to Japan has become much cheaper :)

    • @Rod-bp8ow

      It is not cheaper, it is affordable, since quality is upheld, and in most types is graded.

      The plan for this week is to drop the next pachinko video, focusing on "what's happening" as you play the machine. So please look for part 2, this coming Friday! (Saturday Japan time).

    Great video on the topic, thanks for this! Very helpful for anyone new to the topic - I'm interested in seeing a potential part 2 for that reason alone. Wonderful. I've been watching your Ukiyo-e videos, but I certainly had to watch this one too. I have two 1970's pachinko games my wife got as a kid. I have restored one and everyone loves it. Now I know how the system works; but could you possibly show us a Tuck Shop? I'm intrigued. Also our '70's models have ashtrays 🙄

      I remember a friends house where they had a vintage machine, complete with ashtray. I am planning another how to play guide, with more details of understanding what you are looking at while playing, and will be sure to include a trip to the tuc shop.

    • @Exjapter

      There is a counter inside the store. Depending on their system (smart card or old school basket collection) you will take the record of your winnings there and they give you the tokens. I will be sure to show that in part 2.

    What does 1/199 mean? Does that represent the chance to win the jackpot, or the volatility?

    • @Exjapter
      @Exjapter  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That initial 1/199 is indeed the odds of one spin hitting that first jackpot.

  • @DigitalAndInnovation

    If you kept the TUC prizes... since they are effectivly a gold standard (roughly not necicarilay day to day) but... If you dont cash them... could you get in any sort of trouble? Honestly I would rather the little tuc prizes because I doubt it would amount to much at all and they are kind of cool

    • @Exjapter
      @Exjapter  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can keep/request any of the variety of prizes on display, which can include food, alcohol and luxury items. If you kept any of the tokens as a souvenir that is fine too, no one will be upset at you. I have taken them home on occasion because I didn't have time to do the exchange, and I just came back another day.

    What was the term you used for when the game replays a spin? The closed captioning is calling it a “gigi then” and I’m tryna do some research and I cant find that term on google? Thanks

    • @Exjapter
      @Exjapter  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great question. It is gijiren or 疑似連 in kanji. I honestly cant find anything in English on google about it, but maybe your google-fu is better than mine.

    • @Zeus_santana
      @Zeus_santana 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Exjapter thanks! And one more question if you dont mind, is there like a button you press to engage gijiren during a reach or does the machine use it automatically?

    • @Zeus_santana
      @Zeus_santana 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Exjapter and it seems like it translates to “pseudo spin” maybe??? If so that kinda helps explain the concept

    • @Exjapter
      @Exjapter  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Zeus_santana the machine generates the gijiren as part of the escalation of the spin, it's not something you can initiate. It also tends to be one of the most consistent indicators of a spin with a chance, as long as it happens more than once. Only once is pretty weak (unless a lot more happens additionally to indicate a hot chance).

  • @chuck6290
    @chuck6290 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

    On US slots you have a way to see how much money you have accumulated; with Pachinko points it is the same thing? I played last year and the entire time I was so confused as to what my total win actually was. Is it tallied up on the same display that you would use to "buy" more balls and/or cash out?

    • @Exjapter
      @Exjapter  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It depends if you are in the old system or the new system of ball collection. The old way is to have the balls collect in a tray and you call the staff over to swap out full trays for empty ones while winning. A full tray is usually about 5000 to 5500 yen. In the new system you just let the balls drop into the bottom hopper and they are machine tallied automatically. Your total is usually displayed either there on that bottom hopper or over on the left side where you would remove the IC card to go cash out.

    • @chuck6290
      @chuck6290 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Exjapter It wasn't the ball tray kind it spit out a card to redeem. Thank you for the help! I feel like I can probably play Pachinko more confidently next month after watching your detailed videos; they explained things way better than anyone else.

    • @Exjapter
      @Exjapter  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      If you feel there are some other gaps in my explanations let me know and go ahead and ask more questions. That way I know what to include in a follow up video. And good luck!

    • @chuck6290
      @chuck6290 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Exjapter The only scary part of the process is not messing up the redemption (getting the card out to then get those special gold tokens and then finding the TUC shop to get paid). It'd also be nice to find a parlor that wasn't so damn loud but from what I understand they are all pretty deafening.

    • @Exjapter
      @Exjapter  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      This is getting better, actually, since you can now adjust the volume on your own machine to lower levels. The rush of the balls is still pretty deafening though...

  • @doel89
    @doel89 ปีที่แล้ว

    When you want to cash in the balls you have to shovel them? Or thry just tally the balls into ticket?

    • @Exjapter
      @Exjapter  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Places that have ball baskets are becoming increasingly rare in favor of automatic hopper systems that tally your winnings. So when you finish playing, the card or coin the machine spits out has all of your winnings on it and you take it to the reception desk for exchange.
