I am so unbelievably grateful to know that if I have a question/don't understand something with orgo, I can come on your channel and get a clear, simple explanation in less than 10 minutes. Thank you SO much!
I wonder how much effort you put in BUT BELIEVE ME YOU ARE DOING A GREAT JOB I RESPECT YOU A LOT YOU ARE DOING WHAT PROFESSOR'S CANT may God always bless you!!
The reason why I choose your videos over others is not only because you explain well but also because you have such a beautiful voice and great method of presentation!
Very helpful thanks... But couldn't u have used the reverse method for when the no 4 is forward instead of the swap like in the Cahn- Ingold -Prelog method?
There are multiple ways to solve problems like this. The key is to understand how to do it right, then learn a shortcut you’re comfortable with to help save you time.
Yea well but on your first example, if you draw the sawhorse projection, Br will be dashed and OH and CH3 will be planar and CH2CH3 will be wedged, and it will be R but the 4th group will NOT be into the page/dashed and hence it will be S!
Hey Leah,Saba here. I am a big fan of yours and organic chemistry seems simple and easy due to ur logical teaching! Thanks. Which hardware and software are you using for making these videos? Kindly respond!
I'm sorry, but I don't offer tutoring through TH-cam comments. For help with this and more, I recommend joining the organic chemistry study hall. Full details: leah4sci.com/join
That doesn't apply to a bit more complex Newman projections with two chiral centres. I tried it, didn't work. For that what I do is to convert Newman to Fischer projection and then determine the configuration. Is there any easier pathway than this? Btw I have an exam tomorrow and it'll be too late for me. But that may help anyone 😊

I was having so much trouble doing these types of questions until I saw this video - thank you so much!! This is so helpful.
You're so welcome!
Your videos have been a key tool in my studying for organic chemistry, thank you so much.
Good to know the videos helped! :) Thank you for subscribing!
You are my hero !!! I just started organic chem and it hasn't been that easy for me .. But your videos are so effective I love it ! Thank you so much
Glad I could help!

OMG WHATTTTTT. thank you i was having trouble drawing the whole structure and trying to flip everything!!!!!
You're very welcome, so happy to clear things up for you!
you are a great teacher, voice is very clear and easily understandable, carry on your jobbbbbb
Thanks so much, and I hope to keep at it for years to come
I felt totally lost, but thanks to you i understnd now! Seriously, you are so much better than the professors at my uni! :)
Glad I could help :)
you saved my life i love organic chemistry now. Thank you so much i wish i found your videos earlier
So glad to hear it! You're welcome.
the swap method ought to be the standard for teaching R/S. I have shown my classmates and their minds bend. So good.
Glad it helped!
Thanks Leah! telling my classmates to watch your videos! Super helpful!
You're so welcome, happy to help, and thanks for sharing!
i am so grateful that I found this video two days before my finals......
Hope this saves you some time on your final exam! Wishing you the best
Very helpful thanks...

Glad to hear that! How did your exam turn out?
Thanks! Your teaching was great.
You're so very welcome, happy to help!
Thank you so much. It was so easy to understand from here. u are an awesome teacher.
You're very welcome and thanks for your kind words!
absolutely out of this world.thanks a lot
You are welcome!
Does the 2 swaps apply also for the rear one too if the one with least priority is not in the middle? Great expalantion btw!
If you are looking at the rear carbon's stereochemistry then yes, same thing
Thanks for all these videos! Very helpful!
You're so welcome!
Great teaching, I get everything :)
awesome, happy to help!
You should patent the swap method lol. It had helped me a lot. I wish you are my org chem prof.
awwwee! Glad it helped you! Thanks for dropping by! Make sure to subscribe! :)
I can't thank you enough!!!!! Thank you sooooooooooo much for making this video!!!!
You're very welcome :)
You are really helpful! I got an A+ on my quiz :)
WOOHOO!!!!! So happy to help!
Really good video. Congratulatioins and thank you from Spain.
Glad you liked it!
Thank you so much Leah. Super Reliable. It really helps me. :)
You're so very welcome!
You solved the big problem ❤
NICE!
Leah I can't find the quizz on your website. Please put up the link
If you'll check out leah4sci.com/syllabus, you can match all of my resrouces (including quizzes) to whatever topic you're working on
Hey would you mind doing more Fischer projection examples. I'm not getting it.
You can check out additional resources at leah4sci.com/fischer

At which part (timestamp) of the video are you referring to?
NICE PRESENTATION AND EXPLANATION
Thanks!
so confused as to why we reversed in the last one. I thought you do not reverse if the least prioritized group is already forward?
no, exactly the opposite. Goal is to have the lowest priority in the back
im confused, how do you know when to do the swap?
swap when #4 is on the plane. If #4 is coming toward you, flip rotation
I teach the swap method in detail here: leah4sci.com/chirality
See video #4
Nice explanation
Glad you liked it

thank you so much, it is very helpful. you teach real well.

How many times any two groups can be exchanged in a fischer projection so as to get the same compound?
I'm sorry, but I don't offer tutoring through TH-cam comments. For help with this and more, I recommend joining the organic chemistry study hall. Full details: leah4sci.com/join

I've done it for more complex Newman with multiple chiral centers as well. The key is to understand how you're looking at it
@@Leah4sci Could you please link the video where you've done the swap method for Newmans with multiple chiral centers? Thank you so much big fan!!!
Mam🙏🙏.. It's for which grade...?
I am from india, and this is in my 11th grade book of highschool 🙏
This is an Organic Chemistry channel. It's amazing that you are learning stereochemistry in high school! Hope the video helped. :)
Can we convert to Fischer Projection?
Yes, of course! Watch this video for my tricks on how to convert Newman projections to Fischer projections: th-cam.com/video/KCOpsnlE02k/w-d-xo.html
you're amazing!! thank you so much!!
You're so welcome!
beautiful mam
Glad you liked it!
How is the last example S?
As I explain in the video, when #4 is forward you reverse the direction. 1 -> 2 -> 3 goes clockwise, reverse to give you counterclockwise for S
literally....thank u SO much
you're welcome :)
Very great explination
Glad you liked it :)

You're amazing. Where have you been all my life? Marry me! lol
lol

Umm..how about we keep our relationship professional?
Really annoying you don't show us how to do two chiral centers at the same time.
My goal was definitely NOT to annoy you, I cover that in another video
