Real nice waters . Glad you had chance to run out there. I am just like joel . I see dark clouds I am worried . Chances are I am not running out . Thanks for sharing 👍
Oh wow!!! We are in Key West for the week and just did snorkeling at Dry Rocks! Saw a sea turtle!! But we heard Alligator reef was one of the best snorkeling places in the Keys!! So awesome your video came out today!! 🤍🤿
I enjoy your adventures. You guys are so happy. I grew up in Florida and have been going to the Keys for 40 years now. Its a wonderful adveture for sure. Here is a tip. The yellow balls demark the perimeter of the protected areas around the reefs. Its an exclusion zone for fishing and collecting. The mooring balls are white with a blue stripe and are numbered. They have a long polypropylene rope with a loop in it for boaters to tie too. Anyway, yall truly had a great day with water so flat and the great water clarity . If you go down again ,look for a nearshore reef called Hens and Chickens . It too is off of Islamorada . Its just 3 miles off. I have kayaked to it and we boat to it. On day like you had i suspect the vis to be pretty good. Its a close reef loaded with sea life . Highly recommend it for you guys. Again your adventures are filled with such joy. Keep it up.
Thanks for the information. I realize now that they were mooring balls but we didn't see anything else out there. I have heard of Hens and Chickens. Good to know it's a lot closer. We will have to check it out. Thanks!
Great video. We were just there a couple weeks ago and had a great time as well!! Don't forget to feed the tarpon at Robbie's and see the sunset at Lorelei's.
Hi, great vid. Yellow balls help define the perimeter of an area, usually limited or closed to some activity, but it’s not a mooring ball. Mooring balls are usually white and have a line tied to it with a loop you can run your own mooring line through. That’s why it was difficult to find something to tie to on that yellow ball. Take care!
beatifull video,i grow up in the keys in marathon now i live in saint augutsine and thats one thing im miss the keys besides my family living there i miss the beatifull water and fishing ,i know lots of place there in very shallow water where you can catch lots of mangrove snapper, ill be there soon to see my family and go snorkeling and fishing, water here in saint augustine is dirty, brown, dont like it
Need advice and it seems you are the experts! What reefs can we go to that are between Homestead and Key West, off the beach or by charter? And in more shallow water. This will be during December.
Sorry, I'm not real familiar with the area. I've heard that Hens and Chickens is another reef in the Islamorada area but may be a little closer to shore.
Great video. Was this a recent trip and during the middle of the week? We're in Marco Island and I'm trying to time a trip there to do just what you did. It seems it is less crowded so I'm wondering if it was NOT on a weekend. Would you stay at the same place and use the same ramp again or did you learn about others you might prefer? Thank you. -Tom
Sorry for the late reply. Yes, it was mid-week so probably less crowded. Yes, I think we would stay at the same place again, even with that ramp. There seemed to be a few other places near by that also had ramps but I haven't looked into them yet.
Absolutely Gorgeous, I Cant Swim So I Live Through Videos Like This. I Am Heading Down There Oct, 27 To Take My Wife Really Looking For It. Great Video

Water looked great. Thanks for sharing
It was a perfect day to make the trip to the Lighthouse.
Love the keys. Every time we have taken our boat down it has been too rough to go to alligator reef lighthouse. Looked like a great time.
Us too but the weather finally cooperated this year!
Wow, that drone shot looked amazing.
Thanks!
