Using the right weapons for this matter, is the key. Energy weapons are Balteus's worst nightmare. And we can see that Botan sniffed out the way to evade the missiles, which was to move forward or diagonally.

Not really tbh. I would argue that impact weapons are better, because you and stun him multiple times and bring his HP below 50% after breaking the shield once.
@@VerGiLL1 there is a reason why plasma blade is the best against Balteus. Energy will drain that shield fast. I do agree that impact weapons are great once the shields are down, though high impact energy weapons like the laser cannon exist to decimate Balteus.
Yeah, I struggled with this boss a lot because I was using only bazooka and plasma sword with shield and missile launcher.
When you're meant to do as much damage as possible to him before his shield comes back up.
@@vhalrougelarfouxe You mean pulse blade ? Yes, because it's a pulse weapon. The only weapons that have a unique dmg modifier to Balteus shield is the pulse weapons, energy weapons aren't the same as pulse weapons. That is also why the assault armor does massive dmg to the shield because it's pulse dmg.
After some testing, impact does matter a lot more than raw dmg on the shield itself, not to say that raw dmg does nothing but still pales compared to pulse.
@@VerGiLL1 Nah energy weapons are the way to go as he shields are beefy as hell. Once you have them down a blade or any high damage weapon will do the trick.

wow she's proficient in both 3D movement and dodging without hard lock at this stage of the story, that's pretty insane in my books.
Mouse and keyboard makes the hard lock kind of irrelevant. It's easy to keep the enemies inside fov to keep the auto aim tracking
@Wontonslol yeah I is still had my controller plugged in my pc some time in then later half of the game.
Was going to unplug it since I wasn't using it and decided since I had plugged in I might as well see what the game was like on controller. The slowness of the camera turn is ridiculous on controller especially when you've been playing m&k the whole game.
@@cobra29935 You have to run it with sensitivity to max for joystick, and use a lot of the quick turn function.

Those wondering, yes this was post nerf. That being said she did have a perfect build for him anyway which is half the battle.
Perfect build? She has no pulse weapons besides the blade.
@@JeffHikariThat's because Plasma Weapons is able to do an equal enough job to pulse weapons due to its lingering DoT on each shot. I should know, I used that Plasma Rifle myself to defeat Balteus.
@@JeffHikari Pulse weapons are a bit of a mixed bag. Yes they do more to the shield, but are pretty bad otherwise- terrible accuracy and range, poor damage to health. Having weapons that can hit reliably at a distance, or just have enough power to make up for the shield diff are totally viable too. Which... she did, with the plasma rifle.

people are grossly overestimating how much of an impact the missile nerf has on the overall fight. much of the dodges that people are holding up as proof are ones that worked in 1.01 for the most part, aside from boosting sideways which needs a bit of QB thrown in for 1.01 while in 1.02, no real need for it. the falling dodge making the rounds is the funniest because it worked just fine in 1.01.
for botan, this was just a vibe check before she blew balteus to kingdom come.
For all the people saying this is nerfed Balteus: the only nerf it got was a slightly less accurate tracking on the missile volleys aka when you know how to dodge it you don't have one or two random missiles still hitting you, killing it second try is still god gamer level
yeah, and plus she doesn't even use OS Upgrade
AI is also less aggressive from what we’ve seen. There are times when Bal will just go ape mode pre-nerf and use all the moves at the same time. Still doable but way more chaotic and fun.

Some people (even other Holo talent; hell, even Veteran Ravens) still take Double digits attempt to fight this thing, and then Botan basically unleashed her hidden Raven soul.
The only thing we are eager to find out is..

@@guess9097 Target Assist/Hard Lock is extremely hard to maintain when using mouse & keyboard, the game interprets moving the mouse at all as "searching for another target" and will drop the lock until you hold it completely still. The solution some people have come with was to pick the mouse up or hold it sideways when hard-locked, which sounds stupid.
If she is using the mouse then fuck arget assist, she's doing it the OG way, aim assist cause inaccuracy so there's nothing impressive on her not using aim assist
Yeah, KBM and controller have different strengths and weaknesses in this game. Mouse makes it way easier to track targets without hard lock, which leads to higher accuracy and better mobility. In exchange though, hard lock is much less reliable, so you lose that option even when it would be useful against certain bosses. It's also a lot harder to charge shoulder weapons while moving, since they're on Q and E, with the same fingers as WASD.
The adaptation of her is truly terrifying, Even though BALTEUS has got nerfed And he became a little less aggressive, In fact, there are still some players/ravens that still lose to BALTEUS After updating to 1.02 .

Botan in pro-gamer mode has no match, she is the real deal when it comes to play hard games on chill mode, I mean, she doesn't get altered and still even laughs.

I spend about an hour trying to beat Balteus with dual handguns and dual 4x vertical missiles. It was brutal due to ammo economy and dmg wise.
Had to switch to dual shotty and songbirds cuz I was getting tired and had work the next morning.
I conceded my defeat to the pre-nerf Balteus and had to go for the overused streamer build. Shame really cuz that dual handgun build was fun.
Imagine how much she could have done against the original balteus and not the "nerf" version

Man even with the nerfs, those perfect missile dodges and even hopping over a couple of those flame swords by a hair's breadth is insane. Heck, people I've seen so far often miss some dialogue about the pulse armor until maybe the 3rd attempt due to default audio mixing and hectic battle, and sure as hell no one perfectly deduced both the pulse and 2nd phase characteristics within the 2nd try.

Never played Armored Core since its PSP days but I thing I know is that maneuvering your bot is difficult as hell so seeing Botan evade some of those intense bullet hell is amazing!
I don't know much about psp armored core but I played all the psx era's. AC VI got easier control than the past games.
Movement is a lot easier than in the AC 1 to 3 era. Especially since you don't need to watch heat or worry about being stuck in charging mode. There are even generators in game that are based around completely draining your energy on purpose.
AC has since adopted this crazy new tech called "analog sticks", which make aiming a lot easier than using the bumpers to look up and down
The missile is easy to evade it's the shotgun of balteus which is annoying.
I spent 3 fucking hours on Balteus. Granted, it was pre-nerf, but 30ish attempts to her 2 attempts is insane. Botan is fuckin' built different.

Just me being a nerd but on top of her own gaming skills, Botan was also rocking a Pulse weapons build at the time. Botan Skills+Right Counter Weapons gave her a really good opportunity beat Balteus.

After watching holomem's fight the bosses, I realized how hard I made it for myself cuz I was stuck in the 4 Answer meta so I used dual Rifle with the default missile for more of my 1st playthrough.
Oof... I feel your pain though. Took me a while to swap away from rifles.

Oof i really tried to make the ARs work but damn, pre patch they were just pure sadness, then i used shotguns to kill balteus and the trash compactor, then feel missions later they had an upgrade called zimmerman lol, the game ended right there.

I had trouble with most bosses until I realized you can easily win with melee.
Assault boost and melee makes 90 percent of the game a joke. It hit me when I saw zerolenny put out a no weapons video.

Also, I just learned recently that the Japanese voice actress behind AYRE is Farouz Ai, who also voice Fuuka in Blue Archive.

The vast majority of FromSoft fans know that it dosen't really take that much skill, just patience. That is why the community is so defensive about people asking for a "easy mode" because it's really not that hard, is just harder than you´re average game wich let's be honest usually plays it self.

Bro I almost beat him in like 4 attempts with shoulder missiles and double default assault rifles prepatch. But ran out of ammo
if any of our builds run out of ammo. its either miss or wrong build. took me 5 tries to figure out why my bullets gone. same with spiders and early jugger/cleaner too

Lol beat that thing in 2 tries too. The flames surprised me at the first try and i got grilled like a damn chicken, but the second try i smashed that thing. Its a really fun fight by the way
Well she definitely showed some skill in quickly adapting dodges to different attacks. I found most impressive were some of those flame blade dodges were so needlessly efficient that soon after seeing them.
However, the biggest problem most people had with Balteus was coming into the fight with poor load outs early enough in the game where you may not have better options available or purchased (and refusing to reset to get them). Botan came in with a full energy weapon load (including missiles that he's also weak to). Also, she's playing after Balteus was nerfed.
The only nerf was missile tracking, which are his weakest attack and easy to dodge pre-nerf.

We have yet to see Botan on PvP scene, so i'll reserved my judgement for her.
Alright let's not go overboard, not to discredit her of course but she's definitely not the best AC6 player in general or even on the JP side as a whole. As a JP Vtuber though yeah she's certainly better than most others I've seen 😄
Is this actually a difficult fight?
It used to be. Apparently the recent patch did tone down the accuracy of its weapons and how aggressive it is after many people felt the jump in difficulty was too extreme for the boss of the games first chapter. Although most people calling it too easy now are often the ones who have already beaten it several times, know its weaknesses, and have late-game equipment, making it a little difficult to gauge how challenging it still is for new players.

You are correct that people are being misled by their own skill and equipment improvements. Still just as hard but it's easier to avoid some minor chip damage now.

The nerfs were not that substantial. I beat Balteus before the patch and even did a fresh file run after the patch. The difficulty is similar. Balteus barely changed, people just got better.

Only the missile tracking was nerfed, which is very minor since the missiles were a misdirection from his actually dangerous attacks.
Only missile tracking, everything else is the same. And even then those missiles never pose a threat in game. It's the big fat rocket and the fire sword.

Pre-nerf Balteus' missiles had a tendency to still hit your AC even if the dodge/boost was perfect. The missiles still tend to track from behind, leading to them scratching the hitboxes.
TBH, the missiles are basically the spectacle moves Balteus has; his real problems are the surprise shotgun blasts, the telegraphed rocket (when you hear the double-beep) which does insane stagger damage, and his flamethrowers.
The missiles are just there to overwhelm the player and confuse them.
I got the feeling from her streams that she has already beaten the game offstream, lol.

When she first started her AC6 few days ago, she mention some of her expectation coming from AC5 and AC4, so at the very least we can expect Botan had already played 2 AC title before.

Ibis is pretty easy if you have the correct booster setup. You need decent boost speed and good QB.
Well, she got to fight the patch-adjusted version of BALTEUS so the missiles' tracking are nerfed. Nevertheless, its a very good fight.

Another thing to point out is how she's not using target assist, she's manually moving the camera own. This increases her own weapon tracking while making enemy tracking lower.

What exactly did the Balteus nerf change? It seems the same to me. What little I heard basically was saying stuff like "The missiles take a little longer to start tracking you". If that's the nerf, I'm going to laugh at all of the elitists. The missile barrage was always easy to minimize taking damage, it's just intimidating and meant to catch people who try to dodge backwards or to the side.
Did the nerf do anything to his shotgun or cannon attacks? What about the flamethrower?

Exactly. Literally the skill check boss. Got him down in under an hour. It's important to take advantage of the times where he literally stands still to get some pulse blade hits in.

@@tadferd4340 and the nerf was Quite a Lot, like you could even just use a normal Boost just to Avoid it. Like back then the adrenaline of Avoiding its missile was quite fun and giving me a bullet Hell vibe, now I boost once and I wouldn't get hit by a single Missile.
Oh also, he also recovers his shield longer like here Botan still able to Stager him twice because it takes a long time for him to get his shield back, back then when when I almost stagger him 1 Second later he got his shield back.
And he's also less aggressive here.
@@sirlosealot2597 You could literally avoid the missiles pre-patch by boosting foward normally. They were always a joke. They were big and flashy to trick players into focusing on them and missing tells for the actually dangerous attacks. The missiles did barely any damage.

The reason you find it regenerates faster is because you do more damage, which is also why you think Balteus was heavily nerfed. You got better and have better parts plus damage buffs from OS chips. Balteus' single nerf is insignificant.
