That is what I was thinking as well. First MHC in the 1.20 era of Minecraft. And a bit rusty as I haven't played hardcore mode in almost two years... we'll see how that goes... 8-)
When you found that village right away, I was half expecting you to find a feather in the village. I completely failed to bnotice that there was a village in the vicinity of the ruins.
Well, I may have missed a few chests. There could still be a feather up there. But if you go there you will at least get all the food you will ever need this month. 8-)

Or maybe a librarian, if there were any librarian houses. Ah well. Maybe there will be a shipwreck? I think those sometimes have feathers.
Steal? Did I say steal? I meant borrow. One feather, one copper ingot and one... um... stick(?)... I don't really remember exactly. In 1.20 we can use a brush to carefully dig suspicious gravel/sand. In your day one I saw you destroy a suspicious gravel block. Ooops. If you dig it, it will disappear giving nothing. If you brush it, it can give you loot. No, you are not stupid. You just don't have the knowledge of the brush-mechanic. Don't mistake lack of knowledge for stupidity. You can be the smartest person on the planet, but if you sit inside a room not reading or learning anything... well...
