I have been doing calisthenics workout for over 4 years now, with superb results, but this is quite an awesome thing to add to my workouts, as I intend to stay mobile as I enter the older ages beyond 60. I am 57 now.
Easily the best thing from 2023 is the creation of rope flow. Finally we have a form of training that's so complete, it's cool, you can literally start doing it in the middle of a party, but's not nearly impossible like some crazy calisthenics.
Very well summerized! I agree to all of the benefits! Especially the mental health issue and motivational aspects! Every day I enjoy my practice even when I feel a Little bit lazy 😊
Two comments to add regarding brain health. People's brains are mostly devoted to movement. Most modern "jobs" require little movement and actively attempt to minimize it for "efficiency" sake. Use it or lose it. This explains the epidemic of dementia and Alzheimer's. Second. Rope flow requires the simultaneous use of both sides of the brain thus improving brain as well as muscular coordination. This contrasts with many other activities which focus on the use of only the dominant side of the body. Ever try to write your name with your non-dominant hand. That shows how your coordination is lacking. Rope flow corrects this imbalance.
That is such a good point. It’s so true what you are saying. And great that you mentioned about writing with the non-dominant hand. This is a great exercise to improve ambidexterity
@@spiralflowropes the pattern where you come from overhand service/throwing into turning underhand batting motion. And the sneaks with letting go of the handles, very nice!
Ropeflow incorporates elements from 3 martial arts. The most obvious is Chinese rope dart. Once you coordinate your footwork with your hands and rope, you are practicing Aikido and Bagua skills. These are evasive arts. The spinning, jumping, twisting and turning will make it very difficult for someone to injure you. It gives you a lot of confidence!!

Do you think this could work in self defense?
It may well do, perhaps you could try the meteor hammer!
