Yes we are being lied to every day, and not just about EV's or net zero. We are being lied to about virtually everything.
Indeed.
Not just lied to but cancelled/ostracised/financially punished if you have any airing of critical thinking.
Yep, faked living.
What about " Safe & Effective " or " Trust the Science " ??
Surely that was all true .... next you'll tell me the Bat Soup Fairytale was a massive & ridiculous lie as well !!
😳😱
It's all a grift
I have a very simple philosophy for our current life - Never believe a politician and never believe the MSM.

Currently an EV battery is 10x heavier than a tank of fuel and still inferior on range.
An EV battery is actually 7,000 tiny batteries all glued together like something a very rich child would do.

About 20X less dense in terms of weight. Not sure about volume. But certainly a lot less dense. That said, an improvement factor of about 3X would make them very competitive in CARS. Dunno about pickup trucks. Maybe need more than 3X. Are we ever going to see an improvement of 3X? I would say .... not impossible, but not likely.
Right you are mate. Not only lied about EV’s but lied about climate and covid.
And just about everything else. It's how they scare the masses into doing what they want them to do, I believe it's called the Hegelian Dialectic.
They lie about EVERYTHING.
You don't need to be a brain surgeon not to have noticed climate change over the last 50 years, even if you don't believe the climate scientists. And how smug and sanctimonious of you, probably because you have not been affected by climate change, and I bet you didn't lose any family, friends and colleagues to Covid? Self absorbed ignoramus.

Climate, covid and EVs are central tools for the grate reset
Seriously, I passed this big utility truck on the freeway towing this huge diesel generator/fuel tank trailer rig and the giant graphics said "Emergency Mobile EV Charging".
The irony of this could only be lost on a slobbering EV fanboy.
I hope they apply a stupidity fee on top of what they charge.
No doubt the “big utility truck” is a full BEV - then use the generator/fuel rig its towing to charge itself when it runs out of range - in effect an “emergency mobile EV charging emergency mobile EV charging” unit
Thumbs up.
I like your "slobbering EV fanboy”. May I add to that, “besotted EV sycophant”?

Correction: People ARE STUPID! If they weren't, then not 1 EV would ever have been sold!
EVs are the future - the govt. tells you so - and you elected the govt. !!
People are not stupid, they chose EVs to virtue signal how progressive and green they are. They know a lot of it is a lie but they don't care.
I think people can be quite easily swayed… most have an innate sense of what’s right and wrong. There’s been a concerted campaign to brainwash everyone into believing that EVs are the answer to everything … and they absolutely are not.
More likely brainwashed believe in governments tell them what to do
Confirmed: I stood and watched them follow arrow stickers on the supermarket floor.
It isn't just Australia where EVs aren't suitable.
Even here in the UK, where in theory they would be suitable, they aren't.
Its cold, which cuts range. It's always overcast and or rainy, so headlights and wipers cut more range. And a lot of places are very hilly, which cuts more range ( no regen brake on way down doesn't give 100% return of charge)
Plus there's hardly any chargers unless you live in Londonistan. and those there are actually cost you more per mile than the average petrol or diesel equivalent.
We were all wrong. We thought the future would be full of wonderous technology and easy life.
The future is here and its dumb as f**k.
But ev’s clearly identifying nutjobs for all to see !!!
I picture the London i visited 20 years ago ... now looks like 3rd world country ...why did uk let in these refugees ?
Londonistan is the official name according to the new speech dictionary of a city known in the past as London
The future first appeared in 1984, and has been with us ever since.
I reside in the Southwestern U.S., and the summer time usually starts around mid May and ends in early October. The ambient temperature ranges everywhere from 33C to 43C throughout that period. Higher ambient temperatures affect the resistance of conductors (wires) meaning that as the temperature increases so does the resistance of the conductors which leads to power loss and increased energy consumption. If the EV's battery pack is located underneath in the vehicle's floor pan, there's the additional factor of radiated heat from the asphalt/concrete affecting the efficiency of the battery pack. Lastly, the Meth Head and Fentanyl zombie population (i.e., dirtbag copper thieves) contribute to the range anxiety issues.😛
End child slavery. Ban EV'S.

You should enjoy the Senile Crooked Joe Biden clips if you enjoy lies, especially if you enjoy whopper lies.
How about the one where Joe's Uncle "Bosie" was eaten by cannibals in New Guinea?
One of your mistakes is funding agencies and expecting them to protect you. Protect yourself and save your money at the same time.
I love the new KIA ad that touts their newest feature - a "sleep mode" so you can get a few zzzzs while you wait for your idiot car to charge.
I saw a meme with the picture of a Tesla with one of those mobility scooter tailgate things, it had a generator with a couple of gas cans on it.
That cannot be further from the truth, not to be coy about it, it's bollocks. Don't suppose that you will listen to someone who actually owns and drives an EV, but I'll tell you anyway. I drive my car all over France never ran out of charge, never fail to find a charger. What's more I have never seen an EV broken down on the side of the road. The conversation that needs to be had is that EVs are trying to "resolve" a problem by creating a problem that requires an unfeasible paradigm shift.
People only break even on EVs *IF* they own them well beyond the average vehicle ownership length. EVs only beat ICE vehicles on carbon footprint *IF* driven much more than the equivalent ICE vehicle over the same period of ownership and *IF* charging using solar. EVs also export pollution and health hazards to mineral and semiconductor-producing regions, but there is never discussion of the health hazards borne by producer populations. In many ways, the EV movement wants to burn down the house in order to patch a leaky roof.
Great comment and great points. The current EV agenda is a complete scam, just like the coNvid pLandemic
Dude, that is some undeniable chilling truths to think about 👍
@@TradArcherDownunder I worked on an entire book dedicated to the semiconductor industry and the cancer and infertility crisis. The US didn't lose the semiconductor market, it offshored its ecological disaster to emerging economies.
The next time some eco-warrior tells you your ICE engine is burning the planet, ask them what's their infertile woman and mutated baby in Asia count up to.
The "problem" they want to resolve is almost entirely fictional. Governments have done an amazing job at discrediting actual scientific discussion which is the obvious point all along. They have yet another lane wide open from which to abuse the public. EV's will run their course (arguably already have) but this myth of man made climate change being an existential threat is the perfect tool to commit all kinds of atrocities against humanity.
Be quiet - the EVangelists know the truth and don’t want to be confused by any facts (aka science)
They say don’t charge over 80% and don’t allow it to go below 20% so you’re also losing 40% of the charge right away.
Bingo.. i learned that early years ago. Thumbs up.
Can you imagine towing a caravan out of Sydney, either north, south or west. Going north you would not make it up from the Mooney Mooney Bridge. And remember there are no Service Centres between Wahroonga and Gosford on the M1. Going west, you would have to recharge in Penrith, then Katoomba (maybe earlier) then Lithgow to get over the mountains to Bathurst. And going south is just as bad. My wife and I laughed when we read the article about an EV owner claiming to tow a boat around Australia with his Tesla, it was a 23kg Kayak on a Kayak trailer. Maybe 100kgs for total towing weight. They have no idea about how big this country is and the distances involved. Not to mention the lack of mobile phone coverage for the EV chargers.
They don't want you to leave the city or use a caravan.
"....are halved when towing or carrying a load..." My experience is that ANYONE towing ANYTHING or carrying ANY load is pretty switched on, experienced, skilled, capable, knowledgeable and have assessed the risks as much as possible. They don't go from 2 wheeled bicycles with training wheels to towing a load. Yes, there are dickheads who make mistakes but they are few and they soon get caught. This category of drivers will not go for EVs. They are too smart and experienced for that!
Except for cyber truck owners, of course.

I do not like knowing my "fuel" tank in an EV car gets smaller every time i charge it. Nor do i like to know that a full tank of gas in a specific petrol car weighs less than the batteries in the same car that does not give me as much range.
Whether its in Australia, America or the UK our national grids just cant cope with this EV push. Unless the vast majority of privately owned motor vehicles suddenly end? Part of the WEF plan I'm thinking?

My road tax last year, this year and next? Oh, also zero.
See you on the road, if you can catch me.
@@truebrit3670lol ok. You spent zero time at charging stations, which must mean you always charge at home, but you pay zero for running the vehicle. So the power company is just giving you that electricity for free, huh?

Anyway, enjoy the $20,000 replacement on that battery that degrading as we speak. Meanwhile my fuel tank that's been in the car for years still has the same range as the day I bought it.
I am now driving my third Kia ICE car. My present car is the Kia forte which runs like a top, also doing 40 mpg. The car has a 2 litre engine and does 460 mile in a fill in my gas tank. It is quiet in operation (emulating and eV!) and laughs at electric charging stations. Why would I ever want to change it for a battery on wheels. I nave ever have range anxiety and can run with my A/C full blase or my heater in winter. I can drive through puddles without damaging the lead acid battery, and temperature from -30C fo 40C is not a problem. Keep up the good work Simon because eV's do not solve any problems, but have plenty of their own!
If you don’t believe towing mullers EV range look up the Hoovies Garage TH-cam video about 18 months ago where he towed a trailer with a Ford lightning and got 50% of the range.
To be honest, if I pull a 3.5 ton load with my Hilux, consumption goes up too from 10l/100 km to 19l/100 km. We don't mind in general because filling up is easy (and some of the load pulled is a 300l diesel tank)
The TFL channel did a test with 4 different EV pickups towing Teslas on trailers through the Colorado mountains.
It was painful to watch😬
I could have done the same round trip on one tank in my diesel Chevrolet pickup towing a car.
I sent the link to Simon-maybe he’ll do a video?
I know how to fix that, why don't they add a Diesel generator to the EV? That way you can charge whilst on the move :)
And to eliminate parasitic losses from transferring energy from the generator to the electric motor to the wheels.
Just direct drive the diesel generator to the wheels.
Oh wait...😂😂
You can actually do better than that. The exhaust, after removing the NOx and SOx, is routed to a sodium cell that produces electricity through the formation sodium carbonate and hydrogen and then running the hydrogen through a hydrogen fuel cell. You get a hybrid diesel that sequesters its own CO2.
nissan have a car now that has an engine running an electric motor selling in europe....I am not kidding
Yes gives them a chance to fill the diesel generator tank at a filling station. Let them see how we live a 5 min life when it comes to refuelling 🤣
Top Gear electric car, James May did just that.
I’ve been in the risk assessment and analytical area of energy transportation for over 30 years. I get the same stupid response when discussing wind power. My roof top solar can produce 2x the stated capacity in 4 hours. Our wind farms in 3 months produced 3147MW out of 9100MW capacity in 3 months. Our coal fired power stations 808x times stated capacity in the same period. And yet this is “WIND” power madness is classed as cheap and effective. Wind farms on average produce at their stated rate of output only 4% of the entire year. Nuclear can produce at 80% of total stated output annually and this is too expensive. It’s completely stupid.
Even looking into having a small 12v circuit for home, just to have a little independence, showed me how expensive, impractical and inefficient a wind power is!
From one engineer to another, you are spot on regarding the EV folly.
Another tick here for your channel mate. Keep up keeping us informed. Good job. 👍
In addition to the range being cut in half, the charging stations are impractical to any vehicle towing a trailer. All of the charging stations here in the states are "parking spots" that you have to pull into, not pull-thru. This means you have to detach your trailer to charge at a public station. Totally impractical.
The emperor has no clothes and EV fanatics see the fine garments and don’t know they are just as naked.

Why would this honesty help EV's? It makes me stay far away from them.

Doesnt anyone find it strange that the Australian government is pushing electric motor vehicles despite the fact it has not managed to electrify ALL rail transport systems.......not even on the high rail volume corridors like the coal districts in NSW that rail all their output to Newcastle? QLD rail was the only place to go big on electrified rail, in the 1980's in the QLD coal regions that feed the ports, and that is a result of spare electricity generation capacity which was built for aluminium smelters which did not proceed according to plans.

@@truebrit3670 Firstly the price of an EV is too expensive for poor people and tests have shown charging costs are more expensive. Don't start on zero resale values either.
@@winstonsmith7801 used EVs aren’t expensive. There’s a price war on public charging, prices are dropping. Tesla points are cheaper than diesel. Home charging can be free (as I do - there is a test for you 😂), or easily 3p a miles. 10 times cheaper than petrol.
Please educate yourself before you spout nonsense in public.
I'd have one tomorrow , but my extension lead isn't long enough !
That’s not all that isn’t long enough
@@paulsimpson8990Well great to hear you can be so open about your shortcomings.
Half way there.
You can get _really_ long ones... just don't cross railroad tracks to get where you are going to park. Just sayin'.
Finally someone with the intestinal fortitude to state the bloody obvious. Kudos to him.
I have a Chevy Bolt and LOVE it for the purpose I bought it. 90% of my driving is local as is normal for most. I charge only at home overnight as needed. Never stop for gas, oil changes, or basically any maintenance. However, I will NEVER attempt to travel in it. EVs have their purpose, but not as an only car. Their rightful position is only a small portion of our transportation needs for many, many reasons.
Darn the ‘Australia not ready for an EV Ute’. I’m not prepared to drive an EV car and sit round charging in some tiny town on a hot day. I did more than. 200 km round trip just on Friday for lunch and to go to Bunnings .
And that is what the politicians are trying to put an end to - driving for pleasure.
My Tesla Model Y would have handed 200 km easily. And saved you money on petrol while doing it.
@@Tom-dt4ic ahhh the old ‘save you money’. Is that before or after the expensive car, the $$ to instal a charger and the $$$ for the solar panels. Oh and with my 200 on I wouldn’t have needed once to do mental arithmetic to ensure I could get home. Nor do any random additional journeys at a moments notice with no planning.
@@xr6lad If you can't do math, and obviously you can't, then EV's are not for you. Enjoy your next expensive brake and transmission job. LOL.
Lmfao 😂 I drive 200km 4 days a week to work and back…..oh and I drive a Tesla….would now be bad time to mention I charge midweek using wholesale electricity at 3c/kwhr because 60+% of Australias energy is coming from renewables in the daytime! Costs me less than $1 in energy to drive 200km……let that sink in……any other car will set you back at least $15, most around $30…..that’s a saving of around $120/week or $6000 per annum……
My mate bought a Hyundai EV just over a year ago. He now only gets 80 miles on a full charge. 🤔
That’s pathetic, your mate doesn’t sound too clever.

at this point in time, I trust nobody that is in control of anything.
Totally agree, on seldom occurrence that some "critical"(when just stating a fact) voice comes from within the industry, it sure is a breath of fresh air!
"People aren't that stupid...."
Hmmmm... Why then do they elect pure stupidity to govern them?
Some might argue the stupidity of the government is representative of the stupidity of the people who elected them. Given that it's fashionable for governments to (re)elect themselves these days though, that's possibly being rather harsh.
Ideology v Reality. Place your bets now!
My builder brother has a Ranger with large tool box on the tray (full size aluminum) Together with tools, generators, compressors, ladders, nails. bolts, etc etc it must weigh 500kg , and that is 100% of the time. Often extra for building materials, then AC running 100% of the time. He may get to the end of the street with full charge
The EV ldv at $100,000 is for those who drive huge 4x4 vehicles to take the kids to school just to show how cool they are.
It's great if an EV works for you. It's just important to understand it needs to work great for the circumstances of next the 3 or 4 owners down the line after the first owner. This is part of the reason why EV values are collapsing. New private buyers with zero purchase incentives have to be sure that as the vehicle naturally ages, people buying with lower budgets and less favourable charging solutions can effectively use the vehicle. Without a solid purchasing chain then values will tank.
Would you buy a 5 or 10 year old phone.
Would you buy a replacement battery for it, considering the price of the battery is more than the worth of the phone.
I am yet to see an EV owner say they bought one just because they wanted one knowing it’s all bollocks.
They can be cheaper to run for some but on the whole they’re a very expensive mistake.
I was tempted for a tesla but that’s because it would be charged at home 99% of the time.
But stuff paying 10’s of thousands for a car that could cost me 10’s of thousands to repair one consumable part.
Even with a ICE towing reduces range. What is so difficult to understand? More load = more demand on the engine/batteries. If EV converts say otherwise they have their heads up where the sun don't shine.
Another fun one that people don’t think about is the fact that the majority of the electricity on the power grid (at least here in the US) is generated using fossil fuels. And that’s not even considering mining for materials, not being able to recycle batteries, etc.
My daughter just got rid of her EV Volvo. She drove at 20% or less most of the time. Could not find an open or working charger while at work and her apartment has 4 chargers; 2 are off line most of the time and people plug in and walk away and don’t come back to move until the next AM. She lives in the Phoenix AZ area.
Comparisons are made between performances of a Fully Fuelled diesel or petrol filled vehicles and an EV equivalent. This is misleading as the weight of a EV remains constant as the battery discharges but the fossil fuel tank weight reduces during use improving performance including economy.
A minor discrepancy.
Excellent Video Simon! So many trucks used here in the Midwest USA! EV's may someday be able to replace Gas/Diesel powered trucks, maybe.. But that day is NOT today.
Until there is some kind of really significant breakthrough in EV power storage and charging tech to overcome the storage limitations and recharge times and limitations, EV's will remain a niche fanboi vehicle. But not by any means a real serious working vehicle!!
This is another reason we need truth in politics so the lying and propaganda can stop
Brave indeed even for anyone who dares offer a counter narrative to the EV religious narrative, you risk being burned at the stake...
I have a 2017 triton and a full tank is 65ltrs cost in a good day around 108 to fill it which is crazy because when I was in high school it 96cent a liter now it fluctuates between 1.80 and 2.20 a liter. Anyways I get around 600 to 650km to a tank and ive recently just had the egr and dpf removed and I feel more power in the car and have a feeling its going to be cheaper in the fuel
Be aware that if anything triggers an inspection you are looking at heart-stopping fines for defeating emission controls.
I've NEVER heard anyone say that towing doesn't affect range. Electric or ICE. It's far more apparent and harder to work around with EVs though.
One thing people hate more than being lied to is being lied to so obviously, "I'm not flicking you in the nose, I don't know what you're talking about, why are you so upset?"
“Rose Tinted!” LOL!!! PERFECT term.

Hoovie's Garage bought a Lightning to use for work. He was just showing off his new truck when he found out that towing a load - not even near max weight - more than halved his range. All the Greenies got mad and he said, 'I wasn't making a political statement. I was just showing off my new truck!'
20 year heavy truck technician here. Mack trucks for 20 years consecutive. We now offer a refuse BEV. I’m trained on the product and soon to release a medium duty. They are awful. Not only are they dangerous to service/repair they are extremely limited and unreliable. Numerous times we’ve used a 3 phase diesel fired gen set for charging. The actual charger cost us $40k American and has no supporting infrastructure to run it. The amount of highly refined materials in the truck would create soooo much more pollution than if a conventional pre-EPA diesel was just allowed to run its life. I assure you that EV is totally unrealistic and a lie. Di methyl Ether was the most promising alternative fuel discovered and they squashed it. Look into DME, we should be pushing that over all other fuels. Renewable, easily created, stable, spark or compression ignition, no EGR, no VGT, no DPF, no SCR, zero particulate emissions, low NoX emissions, no need for over engineered common rail fuel systems! Then why didn’t it come to light? Well, look at all the mandated systems and components I just eliminated…so one word to sums it up…MONEY. May the LORD have mercy on us. Shame on lying companies and governments. Shame on people for trying to always have the next best thing. Shame on anyone who mindlessly pushes tech without proper knowledge and training. EV will never be my future. Buy a golf cart if you want EV.
Check out "Challenge the Road"....UK dude with a Taycan.....more stories about range anxiety watch it. It's worth it.
Also l9ook up "Jerry Rigs Everything"....he barely got 110 miles towing 10K lbs with a cybertruck......never mind half the range...how about a quarter??
Ahhh! EVs, the gift that keeps on giving. Cheers
Yes Richard from Challenge the road had a nightmare with charging his Porche didn't he🙈. He is an honest, good bloke with some very, very nice ICE vehicles .. & his EV Porche 😂😢
No thank you.
Great reporting, Thank you.
Most people don't know that EVs are basically opposite to your typical gas engine vehicle. With our familiar ICE engines they are only about 30% efficient so even just having them turning at a constant speed consumes substantial energy, and acceleration lowers the efficiency and makes them consume even more energy which you don't get back. But, fortunately gasoline has a high energy content so most of this goes unnoticed due to it principally being a fancy way to turn dead plant and animal matter from millions of years ago into heat. The engine itself dominates the inefficiencies and if you avoid having to make it speed up and slow down rapidly and instead run it at a constant speed this will mostly offset towing a trailer over level terrain. But with EV's they are very efficient, and rely on things like regenerative braking to recover the energy used during acceleration to offset the limited energy in the battery. Anything that requires expenditures that it cant get back from the kinetic energy are a very big deal since the majority of the battery power actually gets converted into mechanical power to propel the vehicle. Once you get these out on the highway, wind resistance and especially trailer towing will just decimate the range since all the kWh are being sucked away by the wind and the extra sets of tires and extra weight results in greater heat losses in the battery, controller electronics, and motors. And this doesn't even take into account what would happen if you have to tow through rising terrain.
😊
Literally NOBODY thinks towing does not affect range. I will never own an EV, but don't ruin your own argument by including hysterical exaggeration, honest debate will work much better.
Be specific , what did he say that is not true ?
Yep. No ICE manufacturer has ever lied for profit.
Thanks for revealing the TRUTH Pomguy.
There’s no way I could have thought for myself.
The Kia boss is an honourable man. A breath of fresh air compared to the dishonourable politicians and EV evangelist that lives in a fairytale of their own making. Pure folly.
