I think you mean unbelief in Jesus unto our death. I think many people start out not believing in Jesus before being saved. So, of course is can be forgiven. Of course not believing, leading you to not repenting of it, will not be forgiven, because you never repented. The Bible says the only sin that can't be forgiven is blasphemy against the Holy Spirit, whatever that means.

It’s a hatred for mercy. If you take pleasure in people getting what they deserve or take pleasure in a person receiving punishment for sins or despise an undeserving person being loved & forgiven.
I saw a video where Sam Shamoun explains blasphemey of the holy spirit, that Jesus being a man people thought he was crazy but he gave them a sign by casting out a demon yet they blasphemed by saying he cast out the demon by the power of Satan hence Jesus said a house is divided it falls then how can Satan stand if he cast out himself. So even after the miracle they still didn't want to believe.
A couple of thought..A brother may not be a Christian could have been referring to a fellow Jew in general. The verse doesn't say don't pray for the person. I think it referrs to not praying for a non believer to be healed of their sin. John seems to be talking about two types of non believers..the non believer who refuses to acknowledge Jesus as the son of God. And the so called believer who is not of God but of the devil because he continues in his sin.. the sin that doesn't lead to death (I think) is the sincere believer who is a changed person but in a moment of weakness sinned, sincerely regrets it and is repented and confesses..that is the one to pray over. So not a specific sin..it's the spiritual state the sinner is in that makes it a sin to death or not
The key here is what he said, whosoever Born of God does not commit sin he cannot sin because the seed of God is in him, so what we do know he's not taking to one that's truly Born again
So what of the DEMOCRATIC Believers, Abortionist? Proverbs 17;15 YOU WHO JUSTIFY THE WICKED AND CONDEMN THE JUST ARE BOTH AN ABOMINATION TO THE LORD. VOTING FOR ABORTION APPROVAL.
Kenneth Hagin wrote about a vision of Jesus he had where Jesus discussed this very verse with him in his book I Believe in Visions. Jesus said it is about a person belonging to Him and filled with the Holy Spirit denouncing Him. It is a hard one and I truly don’t fully understand why He says not to pray for them. He also told Hagin that they will spend eternity in hell. It’s a hard one to take.

John Bunyan wrote of a man in a cage who was beyond hope, grace or mercy who had once been a fair and flourishing professor. For if we sin wilfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remains no more sacrifice for sins.. Deliberate sin eventually cancels the sacrifice for sin. Hebrews 11 It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have shared in the Holy Spirit, who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the coming age and who have fallen away, to be brought back to repentance. The point of no return. Hebrews 6
“To be brought back to repentance.” So if you are able to repent then you haven’t reached the point of no return? Repent from a particular sin? This sounds like it can only be talking about the deliberate sin of rejecting Jesus as sufficient payment for sins. I don’t see how it’s referring to something like overeating on a daily basis. Correct me if I’m wrong but isn’t “falling away” when one tries to be justified by works instead of faith?
@@JC-li8kk I think normal falling away is just looking back after putting our hands to the plow. Or this: "If they have escaped the corruption of the world by knowing our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and are again entangled in it and are overcome, they are worse off at the end than they were at the beginning."
@@JC-li8kk No sir , that is not the definition of falling away. falling away is the point where a believer returns to unbelief due to the departure of the spirit. A man hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. Heb 3.12. That is the point of no return,
@@victorsaduwa9423 I think a lot of people confuse static faith with saving faith. We can't walk by sight and have saving faith. Real faith always produces real fruit. "The just must live by faith, but if he shrinks back My Soul will have no pleasure in him"
I’ve seen nothing that says that unless we are talking about Revelation 2 & 3 when Jesus says if they don’t repent he will take away their lampstand. The question is, what does the lampstand represent? Your witness? Salvation?
Remeber ok only way to repent and be saved by Christ act 11:14-18, Luke 11:9-13 just follow only the original gospel tradition teaching not churches but Jesus will guide you personally to the end John 10:1-6, zeph 3:9!
I really don't feel like this video answered the question, it feels the pastor kept distancing himself from the question and just quoting other scripture verses, I really would like like to know, what sins that do not lead to death?, because there's a sin that lead to death!
Read the full 5th chapter of 1John And 1st of all you will notice that it is talking about life-and-death; spiritual life and spiritual death. This does not talk about physical death, it's spiritual death. Verse 16 refers to a BELIEVER who can sin a sin unto death. For context also read Hebrews 6:4-6. The writer of Hebrews talks about a mature Christian who has tasted the heavenly gift of salvation and known the good word of God, and filled with the Holy Spirit. The sin leading to spiritual death is one of a mature Christian who decides to permanently turned their back away from the Lord. My understanding is that this is the point of no return and that we should not be praying for.
This also proves that you could very well have your name written in the book of life and then lose your salvation contrary to what others believe. For context you can read revelation 3:5 where you will find the word "erase" or "blot out". We all know you can't erase something that was never there initially.
Sara, Hebrew letter does not talk about mature Christian tasting light. You know how many backsliding Christian got back? There is plenty real story about returning Christians. Not to talk about David and batseba in the old covenant. God don’t take back He’s calling. Hebrew letter Its written to the Hebrew. It’s talk about Jews from the old covenant coming to knowledge, tasting the new covenant, power, it’s force and Jesus warm presence, and THEN returning back to the old covenant with a clear understanding on what they do. That’s also complete different than just backsliding as Christians can do. And it does not talk about getting little legalistic with the 10 commandments, like on Galatians letter. We talking about Jews going back into the old covenant again. To them it would be like crucify Christ again if they later would turn back to the new covenant. You can’t just go back and forth between a serious covenant, from one covenant to another like that. You can’t even compare it with a Christian saying, I don’t want to be a Christian, backslider. They’re kind of still under the covenant. When Hebrew talk about the infant, the babe, the unskilled in Gods righteousness. It’s talking about the Jews that did not know Gods righteousness in Christ. The babes, kids was when Israel was subjected and mastered by the law. It’s important that this scripture is seen in context.
1 John is all about true and false professions of faith and assurance of salvation. John talks about prayer and praying in confidence, that we can ask god anything according to his will he will hear us. This would mean that if we are praying for a true believer to be convicted and repent of their sin then we can pray in confidence to god for this. If we read the sentence fully he is not saying a particular sin but sin in general. The only sin that leads to death is unrepentant sin and spiritual death is from unbelief. So we cannot be confident in our prayers for a non-believer that he will be convicted and come to repentance of sin, there is no guarantee that this will happen. However he does not seem to be suggesting dont pray for them he is just stating that he is talking about being confident in prayer when praying for believer. Then John goes on to talk about knowing the True and rejecting the false in 5:18. We know that whoever is born of god (who ever believes that Jesus is the Christ - 1 John 5:1) does not sin but has been born of god and keeps himself from the wicked one. John is indicating that sin is never the result of fellowship with Christ. Believers sin but this is never the result of their walk with Christ. However, actively pursuing sin as a continual practice is not the mark of someone who has been changed by Christ.

@@johnzuccarello8862 there is many that don’t understand the bible. They think it’s originally written in English, so they miss interpret. By grace your saved, set free from slavery. I could go forth and said what Greek saying. You dont have to free yourself from sin, but learn first that your righteous by faith alone as a gift. Before you walk, you must learn to sit, resting in faith. Without that rooted in you I’m afraid you will try to quit trying to get right with God by own work, your own effort, and never quit smoking. It’s the same with healing. You can’t do that without faith in Jesus, faith in Jesus faith. And faith is trust in that your righteous even if your outer man talks contradict. Isa 54 talks about the new covenant. The secrets to the new life is to be rooted and grounded on Gods justification, Christ crucified for you. That is faith, not by work, just as it said in Rom letter. And believe in He’s name, on this free gift, get rooted in it, that will change you, protect you, and help you out of bad habits. I recommend you watch Joseph Prince, Andrew Womack. They have some good teaching on the righteousness walk and understanding. Just give it a 30 day try, despite some say it heretical teaching. Watch out for they who talk this to each other, they’re separating Christ body, creating confusion. They who say this, they have no clue what miracle is in the faith alone in Christ. They lack faith that’s Jesus actually can work in you, not by your work, but by He’s doing by your faith alone. Just try, and put your faith in Jesus. If you said yes to Him, he has accepted you, declared you righteous, Rom 5.1 young literal translation, Ephesians 1:6. By this you have Gods life in your spirit. And He have then sealed you with He’s Holy Spirit. This is a state, it don’t change from a day to another. God fulfilled all justice in Christ, gave it to you, and your sited with Christ. All judgment is taken by Jesus, in Jesus. In Greek it says, past, presence and future punishment. Give Joseph Prince a chance. He is on TH-cam. Also he has live Sunday services. Look them up. God bless, I’ll prayed for you, and your so loved by Jesus. The love is not that we loved first, but that God loved us first. If you think your not loved, how can you come. If you don’t think your righteous, how can you act righteous. So it’s all based on faith alone. The righteous live from faith to faith. And it has to be received as a gift, or else Christ is of no effects. By the way. When praying for you, I really feel He’s love for you. He’s not mad at you, as that punishment is put on Jesus because you believe in His name. He is our rock, our foundation. Hold tight on that cross. He did that for you. I heard many story about people quitting smoking when they got rooted in the free gift from God. Think about it. If I say I’ll give you a car. It’s a gift, I say. But you have to pay me 1000$ each month. Would you call this a gift? Sadly some treat the good news like that. Yea, it called good news. Some treat it as bad news, then they have to mistake on something. Who is right, God, or the bad news turner. I recon God knows, and if He says it’s God news, it has to be something real special. That’s why it’s by faith, so we don’t boast about our own effort, and where in such poor mess, we can’t do it. So God did make it easy. That’s why it’s by faith alone, no work. When you learn to love Him by attracting, it will change your walk automatically. So they key; get into the rest on the fact how accepted you are by faith. In this rest, the miracle will approach you, and thus please the Lord. Read Rom letter. Just remember. The first is an introduction, then Paul talk about the unbelievers, crushing them hard. Then Paul go over the Jews, same doom. Then Paul get to talk about the new covenant, the free gift. Then 9-10-11 is about the Jews calling and returning, then He talk little about the practical walk as Christian. Then he close the letter with saying hello to such and such. It’s important to know to who he is talking. So 1-2-3 is not to the believers. The last part of chapter 3 is some of the new creation stuff. But you see, it’s the justification and the free gift that is the secret, getting rooted in that fact, resting in it. By one mans obedience, they all got righteous. So you put your faith in He’s obedience in you, not your own obedience. This is one part of the spirit walk. You might not feel anything, but thank Him anyway for it. Say about your self, thanks, I’m righteous in Him. Do it also when you smoke. Some people think that their own obedience is stronger than Christ obedience. The truth is that you have been given He’s life. This start where you are, in the middle of your sin. But proclaim and believe Jesus, that He has done it anyway. Just like Abraham. He did not look at He’s devastated body and Sara dead life. They did not look at them self. But they lifted their eyes and believed God, even if their body contradicted Gods promise. Because Abraham believed God, God called Abraham righteous, and a friend. So is it with our new nature, believe in God that He has done this thing, thank Him. Step by step you will grow and be strengthen in your faith, and you stop walking after what you see, but by faith, resting faith. It’s in the resting the miracle happens, and it change you day by day, little by little.
If you sin until you die, that is the “sin unto death”. The “sin not unto death” is the last sin before being converted. If you still sin, Who are you a child of?
So you have 83,965 sins from age 0-44. You hear the gospel & are converted. From 45-79 you have zero sins. On your 80th birthday they throw a huge party for you, you drink too much, get drunk & die. Are you saying you go to hell?
@@-Thelordismyshepherd- I’m trying to understand your point. You said “if you still sin” as if no christian has ever sinned because only a child of the devil sins. Paul said “it is no longer I who sin, but sin that dwells in me. So with the mind I myself serve the law of God but with the flesh the law of sin.”

I AM A EAGLE PROPHET OF THE TRIBE OF SIMEON
Why do people keep mentioning an unpardonable sin. The verse isn’t talking about an unpardonable sin. It’s tss as liking about sin leading to death (Physical death of believers ) All sins of believers have been atoned for, Christ finished the work on the cross. Satisfying God’s wrath. John is saying God may exercise His prerogative to discipline a rebellious believer. Scripture teach that. The sin is forgiven but God takes the believer home who lives in an unholy manner. Scripture teaches this. God is Holy, unholiness merits God’s discipline.
Hmm so Ananias & Saphira? But you hardly see anyone since these 2 falling dead like that. I’m not certain, but it’s possible the man who had his father’s wife is reinstated in 2nd Corinthians.
All past sins of believers are atoned for and all the normal stumbles and inconsistencies we're prone to. Deliberate sin and being re-corrupted by the world is worse than never knowing the truth. "The dog returns to it's vomit". Without holiness no one will see God.
Where do I send in my questions? Before I forget: In the book of proverbs (and many other books), a lot of the things described to be evil are referred to as “She” “Woman” “Her”. Why did they choose this type of writing technique? Why does it seem like women are viewed as evil 😬? I feel a little ignorant asking this but I’m genuinely confused and looking for some type of understanding.
I have wondered the same thing. It does help to understand for proverbs that is written by king solomon. Who's downfall was his many foreign wife's (something the israelites were commanded not to do was marry foreign women). He had 700 wives and 300 concubines. The bible says his heart was turned by his wives to follow their foreign God's and that he wasn't completely devoted to the Lord. I can imagine living with that many women, let alone that many who didn't follow God, was a lot for Solomon and tainted his view of women. There sure is a difference between 1 woman who tries to follow God, and 1000 women who don't! A king's mother wrote him a guide for the kind of woman to marry in proverbs 31. Whether married or unmarried, let's focus on being like that and submit to God with all our hearts, so we won't be led astray. God loves you
Romans 6:23. For the penalty for sin is death, but, (the good news) The GIFT of God is eternal life, through Jesus Christ our Lord. The sin unto death is not loss of eternal life, but loss of physical life. Premeditated murder is considered in this country to possibly get the death penalty. So, that would be a sin unto death. Not loss of salvation, because to lose salvation is to call God a liar. John 6:47. Verily, verily, I say unto you, he that believeth on me, HATH EVERLASTING LIFE. God hates our sin, but He loves us. That is why He sent His only begotten Son, Jesus, to die for the sins of the whole world, First John 2:2, so that anyone who would accept His free gift of eternal life would be saved. The GIFT of God is eternal life. A gift is paid in full by the giver. Jesus is the giver of eternal life to all that believe on His name. John 1:12. The only sin that keeps people out of heaven is UNBELIEF. John 3:18. They never did the will of His Father in heaven. John 6:40 and John 6:29. They trusted in what they did, not on what Jesus did for us. Matthew 7:21-23. Romans 3:26-28. There will be no boasting in heaven.
First Corinthians 5:5.Turn such a one over to Satan to kill the flesh, so that HIS SPIRIT MAY BE SAVED IN THE DAY OF THE LORD. This was a born again believer, Ephesians 1:13-14, that was sleeping with his fathers wife. He was about to lose his physical life, and the rewards he could have had in heaven, (First Corinthians 3:11-15), but not eternal life. The man did get out of that relation ship, and came back into the church for fellowship. We can get out of fellowship with our heavenly Father, but never out of our relation ship. John 1:12. Once we become a child of God by FAITH alone, apart from any works, (Romans 4:5) we are a child of God forever. Whether we are an obedient child or a disobedient child. The prodigal son was out of fellowship with his father, but he was still his fathers son. That did not change. Once we are born into Gods family by the new birth, Ephesians 1:13-14, and Ephesians 4:30, we become a child of God and it can never be changed back. The seal of the Holy Spirit is our guarantee of eternal life. First John 5:13. These things have I written unto you that BELIEVE on the name of the Son of God, that ye may KNOW YE HAVE ETERNAL LIFE.
1 John is written for Jews awaiting Messiah to sit on the throne of David. It has zilch to do with the Body of Christ. John said "now is the last hour," and then he explains the coming of antichrist. I can tell you confidently that the "last hour" is not 2,000 years. Since Jews rejected Messiah during the time of the Book of Acts, 1 John will apply to the Jewish saints during the tribulation, which is truly the "last hour." The Greek word "hora" means imminent. It does not mean 2,000 years.

This was 2 years ago so hopefully you’ve had time to forgive, heal & move on. But just in case I will leave you with these 2 scriptures. “But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.” - Matthew 6:15 Show mercy & trust the Judge. “For judgement is without mercy to the one who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgement.” - James 2:13 The sin unto death is PERHAPS the rejection of God’s love, mercy & forgiveness. The greatest proof of this is seen in how we love, forgive & show mercy unto others, or fail to do so. I hope you are doing well & have grown in the love & mercy of God.
I am sorry Kristin. 😥 No one can truly understand the depths of that type of betrayal unless they've gone through it themselves. It is a death, which I know personally. God will heal the deep soul wounds left by the covenant-breaker. God has good planned for you and your children. May you grow in the love and grace of Jesus as He heals you. ((Hugs))
I believe idolatry is the sin unto death as the next verses in 1 John 5 v 18-21 illustrate particularly if the Lord has revealed himself to us and given us an understanding ( verse 20) and verse 21 warns us to keep away from idols. In the Old Testament Jeremiah was forbidden to pray for those who were committing idolatry(Jeremiah 7 v 16 )This is trampling the Son of God underfoot and counting the blood of the covenant by which we are sanctified as a common thing and thereby insulting the Spirit of grace. It is similar to blasphemy against the Holy Spirit.
Wages of sin is death...that's it,period.Jesus did not said certain sins are worth 5 years in hell.I will commit lots of lesser sin cause i know it is not forever in hell..
But the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus. The sin leading to death has to be rejecting the gift of salvation, or refusing to believe on Jesus or rejecting Jesus as sufficient payment for sins.
These are spoken leaving the father mother and cleave to their wife not two men not two women simple truth if you're not filled with the holy Spirit you don't understand the simplicity of his teaching The Bible says he withholds it from the center basically the unbeliever Believe in the whole gospel and not your own understanding bringing politics tickling ears hot tub Christianity has turn ed the Bible into this meeting right here pitiful

They hate forgiveness, they hate mercy, they hate God so much that they actually believe only the devil would be good to sinners & show them mercy. This is why they thought Jesus was of the devil because in their eyes He was rewarding & commending people who are in sin. Religion still has a problem with this today. The ‘only ‘ sin that will never be forgiven is -blasphemy against the Holy Spirit- Matthew 12: 31-32 kJv.........it is written
So not a specific sin..it's the spiritual state the sinner is in that makes it a sin to death or not
Amen I just look this up. And god quickly has just lead me here and blessed leading. Me here I thank god

What is the difference between death and unrecoverable on earth?
It is specifically for the elect only, because it mentions communion and only his elect can commune with him.

For if we sin wilfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remains no more sacrifice for sins..
Deliberate sin eventually cancels the sacrifice for sin. Hebrews 11
It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have shared in the Holy Spirit, who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the coming age and who have fallen away, to be brought back to repentance.
The point of no return. Hebrews 6
th-cam.com/video/b6raIURZmGM/w-d-xo.html
“To be brought back to repentance.” So if you are able to repent then you haven’t reached the point of no return? Repent from a particular sin? This sounds like it can only be talking about the deliberate sin of rejecting Jesus as sufficient payment for sins. I don’t see how it’s referring to something like overeating on a daily basis.
Correct me if I’m wrong but isn’t “falling away” when one tries to be justified by works instead of faith?
@@JC-li8kk I think normal falling away is just looking back after putting our hands to the plow. @@JC-li8kk No sir , that is not the definition of falling away. falling away is the point where a believer returns to unbelief due to the departure of the spirit. A man hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. Heb 3.12. That is the point of no return,

@@saraisabelfernandez8114 So the person themselves would never wish to return or it's possible but it's too late?
Read chapter 4 of Kenneth Hagin’s book I Believe in Visions.

All sins of believers have been atoned for, Christ finished the work on the cross. Satisfying God’s wrath.
John is saying God may exercise His prerogative to discipline a rebellious believer. Scripture teach that. The sin is forgiven but God takes the believer home who lives in an unholy manner.

Frandina Volcy we are all created in God’s image😊. Ask the Holy Spirit for wisdom & understanding of HIS Word 🤗🙏 God bless you
I have wondered the same thing. God loves you
Don't forget wisdom is also referred as 'She'
Men are writing the Bible inspired by the Holy Spirit. Women are a struggle for men in alot of ways. Maybe that's part of the reason.

“For judgement is without mercy to the one who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgement.” - James 2:13
The sin unto death is PERHAPS the rejection of God’s love, mercy & forgiveness. The greatest proof of this is seen in how we love, forgive & show mercy unto others, or fail to do so.
