"Narcotics Anonymous (NA) describes itself as a "fellowship or society of men and women for whom drugs had become a major problem" following the Twelve Steps and the Twelve Traditions developed by Alcoholics Anonymous, and it is the second-largest 12-step organization.
As of May 2010 there were more than 58,000 NA meetings in 131 countries.
Because no attendance records are kept, it is impossible to estimate what percentages of those who come to Narcotics Anonymous remain active in NA over time. The only sure indicator of the program's success in attracting members is the rapid growth in the number of registered Narcotics Anonymous meetings in recent decades and the rapid spread of Narcotics Anonymous outside North America.
In 1978, there were fewer than 200 registered groups in three countries.
In 1983, more than a dozen countries had 2,966 meetings.
In 1993, 60 countries had over 13,000 groups holding over 19,000 meetings.
In 2002, 108 countries had 20,000 groups holding over 30,000 meetings.
In 2005, 116 countries had over 21,500 groups holding over 33,500 weekly meetings.
In 2007, there were over 25,065 groups holding over 43,900 weekly meetings in 127 countries.

The past 3 to 4 weeks I have been trying to get myself into treatment again, one of the things I have learned from the other times I have tried this that the "Real N.A. has felt like part of the problem also. This guys thoughts on it are awesome. Its the meaning that has kept me from" keep coming back",This Vid in ways help me to realize my thoughts of how now, in this time N.A. needs to evolve to contiue to work. Hopefully i am in treatment in the next week or two, and I can tell u this has changed my life! Do you know his full name? Any books ,or audio of his shows?

I'm 14 years clean and have been diagnosed with a terminal illness and have just lost my partner of 36 years to the same disease I've just had diagnosed. Had to give up working in a detox after 8 years there and as the things I'm entitled to take ages to sort out, my home has been repossessed and am sleeping on dear friends sofas. Is it self pity to say, I'm years clean and lived on the streets for 5 years when using. I've come from that and never working in over 30 years. Never. Got a degree etc... Now I'm in a bad place. So, i must be doing wrong as im not having fun like you said. Life's shit at times and this is fact.
