Sorry but your wrong about those clear stickers. They are to put on your spool when you just use braid to fill your spool it's supposed to stop the braid spinning on your spool. As braid doesn't grip the spool like monofilament does.
It's written in the manual that comes with the reel - yes, they're for attaching the line to the spool. But, if you use braid, they will not work too well. You need to back out with mono before you load with braid.
