I like and play both, but mainly baseball. A soccer game is easier to watch and usually more exciting, but there are exceptions. Sometimes they're equal lol. Sometimes baseball is better, but usually the soccer game is more fun to watch, and to play. but they're hard to compare since soccer is a faster paced game with less breaks and in baseball you get to smash a baseball someone is trying to throw past you. Have you ever hit a baseball with your full power, at the perfect launch angle, right on the sweet spot of the bat? It's something else man. Like scoring the perfect freekick.
Depends on each individual’s taste, but the metrics don’t lie about the worlds favorite sport and the fastest growing sport in the United States,so for me it is soccer/ fútbol.
I hear people here say Soccer doesn't have enough scoring too. For me, the lack of constant scoring just makes it that much sweeter when it does happen. It (usually) takes a whole lot of build-up and tactical prowess to get a goal and hearing the crowd blow the roof off the stadium when it finally does happen is something special.
imo the thing that hurts it the most in America is that leagues such as MLS and liga Mx don’t really have exciting and tactical build up thus leaving the game kinda boring, whereas European and some south American teams use amazing tactic and set pieces to score
soccer isn't even in the Top 3, we have other sports that we're into, there is a perception issue that people think soccer is less exciting, until you figure that part out, this will be an obstacle
@@Knightwolf1994 They don't really pretend to be hurt very much anymore because of VAR (Instant replay) They will now go back to instant replay to see if a player is diving (pretending) or not and give them a yellow card.. so players stopped doing it.
As a Canadian I love watching all sorts of sports like soccer, hockey, football, baseball, and basketball. So I can tell you each sport has its highs and lows and no sport is better than the other, they just all require and attract different audiences
Appreciate the thoughts! It really is all about perception, right? American football fans will say soccer is slow and then soccer fans will say American football is slow. Interesting
😂 I agree!! I'm British, I love a good game of basketball, I find the nfl tactically entertaining if not a little dragged out but baseball 😯 it's not even overly fun to play let alone watch
@@leefox5596 as a baseball player I also think that watching baseball is generally boring. But I also think that about all sports. However, major league baseball has 162 regular season games and they only recently got sped up to take less time. Ain't nobody got time for all that. I like watching the San Francisco Giants in the playoffs, otherwise I usually don't watch their games. I also like watching team USA in the WBC and I like watching some of the games in the men's league I play in (if it's before or after one of my own games). I think it's really fun to play (especially if you pitch) because hitting and pitching are fun.
@@leefox5596 soccer is different than baseball, it takes half the time, has only one break which is half replays and analysis, and has less games, so of course it's going to be more exciting in general to watch than baseball. But if you like a team you'll like to watch their big games.
To enjoy it properly you have to understand pitching and hitting. There is always pitching and hitting going on so if you understand it then you're always into it. It gets pretty deep with different pitches and pitch counts and stuff that influence the pitching and hitting. The more you understand the more exciting it is, because there is always that question on every pitch of "what's going to happen". Its like a PK shootout, you are wondering what is going to happen for each kicker. In baseball the hitters are like PK kickers because each player gets a turn to bat and hit/score. Ie each player gets a turn to play offense.
I only watch baseball during playoffs or championships finals so yeah baseball could be boring sometimes but I’m an American and I’m a die hard Yankees fan but yeah it could be boring a little but the most boring sport is golf I really hate golf but soccer is growing really big for gen z and millennials alike the ones who don’t like soccer are these boomers not all of them some do like soccer but most don’t but they don’t understand that soccer known as fute’ball is getting really popular in America.
Hey man, it's not just this video but it's also many others that you've made that have blown me away. Keep putting in this quality to your vids and you'll reach a massive following very soon. This content is absolutely refreshing along with the editing and pace of the video. Great job.
I’ve played soccer 10+ years and it’s kind of similar to baseball here. They are sports that are beautiful and fun if you truly understand the game or have experience playing. I know baseball is popular in America but I still find a lot of “casual fans” who only follow basketball/football. I think the main reason has to do with culture and tv broadcasting. On tv you see just pass, pass, pass and it can feel like forever before someone actually scores. Compared to football which is a slower paced sport as well and not too high scoring but on tv they hide the “non action” very well. After each play you get a full replay and breakdown, they’ll show the fans, coaches or put on some highlights from earlier in the game and then before you know it the next play is about to begin. Then you got the cultural element, basketball and football both have similar atmospheres. Cheerleaders, halftime shows, theatrics. I definitely think if soccer and baseball had adopted these elements sooner they could be the two biggest sports in America. Btw just think if you’ve ever watched a basketball or football game with no crowd or no atmosphere it can get boring fast. This is the fate that soccer and to an extent baseball have gone through.
Really good comment! There's definitely a lot of factors. Some people have said similarly to you that soccer just doesn't make for good "TV Viewing" if you're a casual because you won't really understand and it'll just look like "pass pass pass" as you say
Thing is football (soccer in America) is growing particularly amongst younger fans, the Internet has played a big role in that, American kids now have access to more of it through things like TH-cam, being from the UK, when I was a kid I was basically marinated in football since I was about 4, a massive influence on me was my grandad, I've heard it's a similar thing in Mexico, the club you support is passed down from generation to generation, it's the same thing here in the UK, almost my whole family are Arsenal fans, and that was passed down to me, the US isn't there yet, as a football nation its young, Mexico is the same as South America in that it took to football like a duck to water early on, it has a massive history in Mexico, in America its still pretty niche but as the years go on it'll continue to grow and you'll get a similar level of history
it's not that the US isn't there, people are generational fans of their NBA/NFL teams, we have other sports we're into, that's the real issue here that we just aren't into soccer as much as other people, they have to figure that part out
@danielzhang1916 yeah I agree, you guys have the generation to generation thing with other sports I mean culturally the NFL is a behemoth, I can one day see football overtaking the NHL and MLB but I doubt it'll ever overtake the NFL, it's a similar story in places like Australia (AFL is king over there) it's growing now, more people have got more access through the Internet, and MLS is not a bad league, and your National team is improving generation on generation (even if I think you could do better than Gregg Berhalter as manager) even if it does eventually get to be one of the Top 4 sports in America, the US sports market is a huge market in terms of money
@@mrmr5580 yeah the national team is like League 1/2 playing in Premier League, we don't have the training and stuff like Europe does, Berhalter is the only good coach we have, I think they're getting better with Pulisic and other players, we're just still years behind in development
@danielzhang1916 well there's more Americans at the top clubs nowadays (e.g Pulisic and Musah at AC Milan) the US doesn't have the level of facilities and coaching that Europe has, but things are improving all the time, you've come a very long way since USA 94
Man soccer is the world's sport. It's liked by billions of people. The fact that only Americans find it boring show how bizarre this people see the things.
we have other sports we're into, there's a lot of foreign players in the US, it's like having 3 premier leagues, this is a perception problem that soccer is boring compared to other sports, that's the real issue here
Ok, and? Just because majority of people like it, it doesn’t mean everyone has to. Appealing to the majority fallacy at its finest. The only bizarre thing here is (other than your grammar) you being narrow minded about opinions that contradict your own. Grow up.
First, Americans don't find it boring...some do, some don't. . Some Spaniards find soccer boring (I personally know a few). Some Argentinians find soccer boring. Second, if you base your opinions of 330 millions people on their commitment to YOUR hobby, then you shouldn't be making any comments, any where. Third, maybe don't depend on TH-cam videos for your value system? In other words, grow up.
If asked this question 10 yeas ago, I’m one of these guys. I URGE people in my country to watch it, learn it. 10 years ago I’m all about hockey, basketball and baseball. Now I only watch soccer and truly love it. If anything now I get angry and ask myself “why did you wait so long!” But I promise you there’s a reason it’s called “the beautiful game “
8:30. The not scoring argument never made much sense to me. Sure there is more scoring in the nfl but it’s not like there aren’t 21-14 point games, which is equivalent to 3-2. It is also true you don’t get many 0-0 ties in the nfl.
how to solve this problem : 1. Host a world cup 2. Host a Champions League 3. Host other European league matches That way Americans can see fans around the world come to the US and wonder why they adore soccer
Soccer is fun because sometimes you can pretty play bad and still win; the results aren't easy to guess, regardless of whether the teams are strong or weak. There are great, exciting games that end 0-0, and that's fine. and once you're used to it, you understand the strategies and the "why" of every play, it's easier to spot who's having a bad day and who's killing it.
Im not gonna lie Ted lasso got me into football... And most Americans problem is they have no experience with it... Its quite literally foreign to most lol Football truly is a beautiful game!
"quite literally foreign to most ". No, it is "quite literally" the third most popular youth sport in the U.S. Also, you don't know what "literally" means. Also, there is nothing worse than a douchey American (or Canadian) sucking up to Europeans because they think it will make them appear more sophisticated. You aren't.
I feel like people that say soccer is boring are missing out, but people that find baseball boring are not missing out. My favorite sports are Soccer, Basketball, Tennis and Football, but I was never interested in baseball. Btw Tennis is a very underrated sport in terms of watching/spectating.
lol no. Baseball can be very intense and suspenseful because anything can happen at any given situation. Where in other sports you know when a team is close to scoring as they get closer to the goal/endzone etc. baseball on the other hand one swing can change the whole outcome of the game
@@kingrazo10 Well in Baseball you also know that they are close to scoring or hitting or hitting a home run because the team is clearly batting and the other defending is no surprise while in Soccer it can go from Defense to Attack with a single pass.
@@GravaJ that’s true but generally speaking the amount of scores in baseball is around 5-6 per team, per game, so a total of 8-12 scores for the whole game. So you more likely to see a batter change the outcome of a game with one swing. While soccer is a lot lower scoring, So those counter attacks in soccer almost always never amount to a goal. It’s like how in soccer the team that scores first usually wins the game due to the lower scoring environment but that’s not really the case in baseball.
They dont like it because they dont get scores like 116-114 and they dont stop every 5 mins for adverts and the commentators cant throw thousands of stats at you.
@@supersubsoccer you should do a video about US Soccer's recommendations to FIFA on how they should change the game to capture the American audience back in 93/94 before the World Cup. Proposals included making the goals much larger, having scoring zones and more points for harder goals. Pretty funny.
So called soccer is a game where we need mental strength, technique, vision, skill and team work. There isn't any way for manipulation in Soccer. Call it Football then people will see the magic of excitement.
7:02 missed an opportunity here - Soccer in the US is older than all sports. Maybe baseball has it beat. If you live in the Northeast and are the descendant of immigrants your ancestors probably followed Oneida Football club, Fall River Marksmen, Pawtucket, Newark, Peterson, or Philidelphia football clubs. Soccer predates American football. Soccer is not uniquely American but it is indeed American. Big sports media have done a good job lying to American sports fans over the years. Golf is Scottish.Baseball is rounders, football is rugby, hockey is a Canadian version of Scottish field hockey...What is the American sport? Basketball? Invinted by a Canadian? Everything we do is borrowed.
Can't dispute what you're saying! Soccer definitely has a long history in the United States, but perhaps an inconsistent one when compared to the other major sports, no? It took a long time for there to be an established domestic league. And when even looking abroad, having Champions League, Premier League, etc readily available to view on US Television is fairly recent too.
Except that the Boston Game to which you refer wasn't soccer (Association Football). It allowed carrying and looked as much like future American football as it did soccer.
@@MrMM1007 I think you are referring to pre code football? Rules had not been set during this time in England or the US. I was going on about early established soccer teams in the US that predate all organized sports with the exception of baseball. Soccer is as American as apple pie unless you don't want it to be. The networks would have us believe that there are levels of Americanism to our sports and that some are more patriotic than others. Baseball - level one American - the best kind. 5 jets fly over each game. A traditional sing a long style anthem and so on.
@@tripperdelaluna1 I have no problem with soccer being popular in the U.S. or any sport for that matter. People should play and watch the sport that brings them joy. But too often people misrepresent a sport, and ignore it's history, in order to claim superiority for their favorite sport. Usually that misrepresentation is about soccer and how it is the original football (it isn't, none of the codes are the pure original). The Oneida Club played the Boston Game, which was not soccer. It was more the pre-code type football that mixed rugby and association. I have heard that a more pure form of soccer was in the U.S. before 1869, but I don't think it was the Oneida team. Not that it matters because Americans do NOT hate soccer. It is quite sad how many sports fans seem to NEED that to be true. Like everywhere else in the world, Americans fall in love with the sport that their family, friends, and neighbors love . It is really that simple. I agree that there are people who use sports, like the networks, to claim fake information. In my opinion, international soccer fans are much more likely than our networks to use sports fandom as a tool to divide. There is a deep seated anti-Americanism streak in some fan bases, and it is based mostly on false presumptions
Yea I was the same as all those people, when I first watched and heard about soccer, I thought it was boring, it was not exciting, no interest at all at the beginning. Until I realize how much of a dumbass and ignorant I was. Now it’s one of my favorite sports. Ever since I’ve heard of Messi and I watch videos of his highlights, I was like 🫢😶🤯. I really would have wish I could have watched him live in the beginning of his career with fc Barcelona. Messi is the main reason why I got into football. ⚽️🐐
@@whoudinyy I am actually agreeing with you (using sarcasm). Some people on this thread can't understand that some people just prefer one sport and not another.
I live in Minnesota and let me tell you the exact same people like in Texas live here too, bet I could walk up to a random person here and they wouldn't know that the 2026 wc is coming to the states
only one thing to say about people who find it boring. commercials. a 90min game of soccer takes just under two hours. a 60min game of American football takes 3.5hours.
When you watch soccer there a total of 15 - 20 minute break/ads for halftime (with the halftime show included in that) which is the perfect amount because you might need to use the bathroom, but nba has an extreme amount of ads and breaks same with nfl, but not as bad. I never watched baseball so I don't know how bad the ads are there. This is very important because we can all agree that the most boring part of any sport is the ads/breaks, and soccer has the least amount of them and by a lot. There is a reason soccer is the biggest sport in the world.
Soccer has the perception of being an immigrant sport in both Canada and the USA. That is largely the case because most immigrants come from countries where soccer/football dominates the market share in terms of sports. There are exceptions to the rule (like Norway has skiing, England has rugby and cricket, Switzerland has hockey, most of Latin America has baseball and basketball, China has basketball, badminton and table tennis, Korea has baseball, Armenia and Georgia have wrestling and weightlifting, Iran has wrestling, Ethiopia and Kenya have long-distance running and Malaysia has badminton). Most of the people who are registered in the rec leagues come from immigrant households (either first- or second- generation) who have actual passion for the sport since it's the only sport that their parents know the rules of and know how to play semi-competently (since those parents come from football mad countries where football dominates the cultural zeitgeist and other sports are considered niche) This is pretty much the same situation that cricket has in Canada and the USA, but to a lesser degree.
One reason football is so great s be cause you can have the most boring nil - nil draw. You go home pissed off but assume the next game must be better. Next week it is nil - nil again but provided absolute entertainment and excitement......... maybe that is just watching BRISTOL CITY
@@mem5860 that’s wrong. Every batter changes after each at bat and each pitcher has a different set of skills. You aren’t seeing the same thing, it might seem like it but that’s like me saying in soccer it’s just pass pass pass without any urgency to score.

is not about hosting however many international games in the US or signing big names, is about changing some of the rules, for instance, penalty kicks during the match should be remove, draw match should be remove, physical contact should be allow more instead of right straight to yellow card, red card must be given to players falling on the ground act crying when he is barely getting contact. football is not an easy sport to play especially when substitution is limited, and lots of skill is required, is some of the rules need to be change.
Plenty of people in soccer countries don't like soccer! Yup. But er they get funny looks at them when they reveal this. Like, you don't like football, what the hell's wrong with you? Yeah, soccer can be the most boring sport in the world, but on the flip side it can be the most exciting and it's more than a sport especially in international games. You have to put up with a lot of dross, but it's worth it for the wonderful stuff. There's gold in them there hills!
Think it's just a matter of attention span and the natural human reluctance to change. Many Americans need all the action to happen at a planned, quick moment, that's why there's so much down time in baseball and American football. The action in those sports comes quick and fast and then you can sit comfortably until it's time for the suspense to rise again. They also prefer sports like basketball and hockey because the action is much more frequent. A brain wired to these sports will find it difficult to stay invested in Soccer. Change is hard for many, I've even seen many people complain about there not being any ads in Soccer lol.
Change can definitely be hard especially if you're already happy with the status quo. Rather than trying to get today's adults to change, perhaps focusing on the young generation and getting them interested now, could result in soccer being more of a norm in 20-30 years? Thoughts?
@@supersubsoccer well that's the thing, we barely even have to focus such efforts. Soccer wasn't around when these older generations were growing up like it is today. Now that the sport has cemented a guaranteed place amongst other major sports in America, we really just have to let the growth naturally happen. Because it will grow, it can only grow, and I personally see it as inevitable that it'll take over. The young generation is naturally getting more and more interest in soccer at a high rate as the years pass. Fast demographic changes in the US are also heavily fueling the rise in popularity of the sport too, as well as having a knock-on affect of decreasing interest in the status-quo sports. Time will do it's thing, no need to force it more than it needs.
@@EvieWillNotDie Some great thoughts! I hope you're right. The traditional top dog sports won't go easy though. They're trying to capture the next generation just as much as soccer is. Will be interesting to see which sports the future fans gravitate towards. You think one of the traditional sports (NBA/NFL/MLB) would have to drop off for soccer to join in or could they all co-exist as a "top 4"?
@@supersubsoccer soccer's growth will far outpace any major decline in those sports. They can and will coexist for many, many years, with soccer slowly overtaking them. Basically, no, but less interest in those big three would only help soccer in the US and I don't see gridiron or baseball growing much more in popularity.
Americans are costumers and consumers. Football organically developed out of local culture. American sports are nothing more than a vehicle for ads. 1st down, time outs, 427th inning... Sadly money also destroys football currently. If you really want to compare football with US sports, compare it with college basketball. Every other comparison is deeply flawed. And even in basketball, there's not enough tension due to all the ad breaks (quarters, fouls, free throws, time outs).
I think you're right about the "local culture" . When the players on the team are people you grew up with or know from the area, you're bound to be more interested. You think that's possible to replicate in the US with how big the cities are?
Soccer's problem is that it's too easy for an inferior team to stop the attack of a superior team. The action in a match can slow down below an entertaining level even if a great team has all of its best players healthy. But the problem with it in America is nothing more than ignorance. Other sports, especially football and basketball now, provide the school games and adult entertainment that soccer provides in much of the rest of the world, for reasons that have nothing to do with more exciting rules or athletics. I mean, ice hockey is much faster paced than any other team sport, and how many Americans can tell you the last two Stanley Cup winners?
Yet soccer is one of the fastest growing sports in the U.S,so let’s be intellectually honest about this topic. I know because I can attest to it. Eat your heart out haters!
American sports fans don't like players faking injury. It's seen as one of the most dishonorable acts possible outside of a cheap shot. Soccer rewards inferior players stalling the game out by pretending to cramp, or trying to trick the ref into giving out red cards or penalties. It also rewards weakness in flopping on the ground from the slightest touch, and penalizes fighting through tackling to stay up and keep the play going. We're at the point where players would rather fall down in the penalty area than take a high percentage shot on goal.
I can never fathom how people who watch baseball will/can say soccer is the boring one... Baseball is the absolute most boring sport. And NFL/football is a 60 minute game that's so slow it turns into 3 hours. It's insane.
Hopefully in 2 or 3 decades as you say! Do you think a higher level domestic league would help raise popularity? There are a lot of soccer-loving countries that don't have the best local league, no?
But in those countries children are born with a soccer ball and play with passion without being a power, the majority of Americans still do not have that passion for this sport, for the MLS to be The most popular players must have higher quality players, either they are born or you buy them and that option is very expensive.
@penman08 is soccer at the same level as let’s 40 years ago when NASL? Were more kids playing soccer 40 years ago? Could you watch it on television? Were Americans plying their trade playing professional soccer abroad? I appreciate you sharing your perspective, but I think we also have to recognized that the landscape has changed significantly especially after ‘94 WC. The issue with us is our stubborn federation ,USSF, which tends to not recognize that we need to restructure our system ie. ODP program;pay as you play grassroots fútbol and the constant coddling of our players. It’s unfortunate going to take time since we are stubborn to changing that mentality. I wish we could apply a different approach ie. Learn from how successful futbol federations operate and how they are effective in their own right.
Maybe they right, there needs to be a change in soccer when we talk about scoring . Or other rules. Its good to upgrade it. Maybe like in basketball that you need to move to Play on the opponent side of the pitch and you have like limited time. Like 1min.
Who is "they"? Why do people keep stereotyping 330 million people? And millions of "those" people have no interest in baseball. Why are so many posters on here so easily tricked? Are you all 12 years old?
Americans need stimulation every few seconds, so paying attention for 45 minutes without ad breaks for trucks and Doritos isn't palpable to your median American
But baseball is mostly dead time. A 3 hour game might only he’s 3 min of actual action. It’s objectively the most boring game in the world. Only cricket beats baseball… and Baseball is originally cricket… so make sense it’s the two sports nobody watches
@@marvinsulzer8258baseball has more action than you think. Statistically speaking it’s ahead of nfl and a lil under nba/nhl. Also they just cut out a ton of “dead time” last year and games are hardly ever past 3 hours. You’re more likely to attend a game that falls around 2 hours than 3+ hours
I don't think the Americans will take to football anytime soon It's a question of culture, it's just not alluring enough. The Americans seem to prefer sports where the ball is controlled or partly controlled by the hand(s).
One thing is enjoying your team or league and another thing is enjoying the sport. I can enjoy even a good kids game to be honest... that's how much I enjoy the sport. But as a Houstonian, the Astros have a large die hard fan base, but they can keep the old g**zers you interviewed. Everyone knows that the other American sports have on average older fans.
Every littlr kid in america plays soccer, we like what we created, Pele, Brekbauer, George Best all played in america, get over it americans will never love, we had the wc in 94, still never grew, just move
Look at the average age viewer for each one of the sports. Soccer has the youngest audience, which means there is a lot of potential growth. Just look at the rate that the sport is growing. It's much more than the other sports in the US.

If you grew up in India you'll love cricket (which I totally don't get) If you grew up in Brazil you'll love soccer If you grow up in Dominican Republic you'll love baseball. Fantastic video! I had no idea that they don't even know our best player. Even I know Lebron James as the current best basketball player, and I hate basketball 😅
Here is my take on soccer and why it will never and mean never be very popular in the US. First there is no infrastructure for development for young players. Its a game here for athletes with money that typically cannot make the high school football or basketball team. Not saying they are bad athletes but they are not our elite athletes. Also we will never buy scarves and chant unison. That's just never going to happen. Soccer fans in the rest of the world are so invested in their teams that the outcomes of games are life and death. The US for good or bad is never going to go there either. Call it a lack of passion or what you want but most people will never care that much. So here the game itself has to hang on its own merits and lets face it, its not very entertaining without you having an interest in the outcome. Sports is entertainment in the US and always will be, its just who we are. The funny thing would be if the US ever actually got good at soccer. The rest of the world would have to face the fact that it happened wo out best athletes and even more so no one would care in the US.
Your answer is too complicated. It is about timing and nothing else. The same timing issue affected other countries that already had a sport before soccer. That is the only reason.
Baseball is the most boring sport ever! You bat and then have to wait to go through a lineup before you bat again. Then, if you are in the outfield, you are probably standing there for half the game. Lame! It is also one of the only sports I have seen overweight, so called athletes.
I recently got into baseball. (I love playing soccer). My kid started playing baseball and following his games made me understand it and how to enjoy it. You have to tune into the battle between pitcher and hitter. Follow the pitch count and how that can affect the game and how the matchups of pitcher / hitter are. So you kind of have to play attention to those little things, but even when I was a kid playing baseball I didn't understand that stuff. Soccer you can just sit back and watch and don't have to really think too much. Just hope a goal is scored and your team plays great defense. Baseball is more like watching PK shootout. Imaging 2 hours of PK shootouts. It might seem boring but the cool thing is each player gets a chance to score for their team. And you would start to really pay attention to the approach of each shooter and goalie and the matchup.
@@nofurtherwest3474 hold up. That may be how football is played in the MLS but at the top levels in Europe it's become so tactical and science-based that it's actually taking something away from the game (in my opinion). I don't know that much about baseball but I hear it's kind of suffered a similar fate where so much analysis has gone into game plans that games are now all about pitching now, which has led to far fewer home runs being scored and has made it boring. I play and follow cricket here in England and it seems to have gone in the opposite direction since they introduced shorter versions of the game such as T20. Now it's all about batting. What’s better baseball or soccer?? 🤔

Soccer is fun because sometimes you can pretty play bad and still win; the results aren't easy to guess, regardless of whether the teams are strong or weak. There are great, exciting games that end 0-0, and that's fine. and once you're used to it, you understand the strategies and the "why" of every play, it's easier to spot who's having a bad day and who's killing it.

When you watch soccer there a total of 15 - 20 minute break/ads for halftime (with the halftime show included in that) which is the perfect amount because you might need to use the bathroom, but nba has an extreme amount of ads and breaks same with nfl, but not as bad.

@@supersubsoccer soccer's growth will far outpace any major decline in those sports. They can and will coexist for many, many years, with soccer slowly overtaking them. USA football is becoming more and more settled
but
MLS & USA football without a promotion and relegation is a piece of trash that no one recognizes
No one sees it as an issue? Are you serious?
@@supersubsoccerThat's why we have neighbourhood teams.

Hopefully in 2 or 3 decades as you say! Do you think a higher level domestic league would help raise popularity? There are a lot of soccer-loving countries that don't have the best local league, no?
But in those countries children are born with a soccer ball and play with passion without being a power, the majority of Americans still do not have that passion for this sport, for the MLS to be
The most popular players must have higher quality players, either they are born or you buy them and that option is very expensive.
Like 1min.

They are both boring.
Who is "they"? Why do people keep stereotyping 330 million people? And millions of "those" people have no interest in baseball. Why are so many posters on here so easily tricked? Are you all 12 years old?
Baseball is the most boring sport in the world
Soccer is now big here in America 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸…..deal with it !!!😆😆😆
Except it's not and will never be.
@@penman08 say that to all the American soccer fans 🇺🇸👍🏼⚽️
Americans need stimulation every few seconds, so paying attention for 45 minutes without ad breaks for trucks and Doritos isn't palpable to your median American
Makes sense from a TV viewing perspective. Do you think it's a fair assessment that soccer offers a better live viewing product than a TV product?
But baseball is mostly dead time. A 3 hour game might only he’s 3 min of actual action. It’s objectively the most boring game in the world. Only cricket beats baseball… and Baseball is originally cricket… so make sense it’s the two sports nobody watches
@@marvinsulzer8258baseball has more action than you think. Statistically speaking it’s ahead of nfl and a lil under nba/nhl. Also they just cut out a ton of “dead time” last year and games are hardly ever past 3 hours. You’re more likely to attend a game that falls around 2 hours than 3+ hours
Bro, baseball is just throw, hit, run around a triangle thing
I don't think the Americans will take to football anytime soon
It's a question of culture, it's just not alluring enough.
The Americans seem to prefer sports where the ball is controlled or partly controlled by the hand(s).
Say what you will about gen Z but i genuinely think they will be the generation that solidifies football as a genuine American sport.
I HAVE watched soccer and i understand much of it and it's just boring!
Yes!!!
Because they suck at it.
Just said that it’s hard that’s why they don’t like it
You think if the men's team was better more fans would come?
@@supersubsoccer Obv (extra if there was a Zlatan or CR7 player type sh*)
One thing is enjoying your team or league and another thing is enjoying the sport. I can enjoy even a good kids game to be honest... that's how much I enjoy the sport. But as a Houstonian, the Astros have a large die hard fan base, but they can keep the old g**zers you interviewed. Everyone knows that the other American sports have on average older fans.
The move for soccer is definitely targeting a young audience. Hopefully that strategy pays off in a few decades
I know American and Japan plays baseball only
All of latin america plays baseball stop hating
*Now I understand WHY THEY 🇺🇸 CHANGED the name to the REAL F⚽⚽tball and call that kind of "Helmet Rugby" "football"* 🏈
*🇺🇸 They prefer to be good at sports they invented themselves*
⚾😪💤🏈
Todos los latinos odiamos el fútbol americano, hockey, basketball etc
It just depends where you grew up and were exposed to.
If you grew up in India you'll love cricket (which I totally don't get)
If you grew up in Brazil you'll love soccer
If you grow up in Dominican Republic you'll love baseball.
America - it's very multi-sport so there is something for everyone. You basically have 7 pro sports that all have big fan bases. Not to mention college sports
Yh but the thing is football(soccer) is very dominant in most countries with multiple pro sports.
@@PANDORA3.0 most countries do not have multiple pro sports that are on equal standing. they have soccer (football) and then they might have a couple others that are way below soccer.
but in the USA there are many sports that are equal because they are played by the season. so as the season changes the sport changes. whereas for soccer it is played year round in every other country. except for like a 1-2 month break in the summer (see Europe)
@@nofurtherwest3474 you basically repeated what I'm saying bro.
Alot of countries with pro level sports don't compare to football because it is dominantly liked and lucrative than the other sports.
Americans are just too used to doing everything different for some reason,so it wouldn't surprise me if you were American from what you just said.
@@nofurtherwest3474 And believe when I say this if the US actually started promoting the game a long time ago you guys would've been big spenders.
You're local league would've been bigger than all of Europe's leagues combined, but yh America will just be America."greatest country in the world"
@@PANDORA3.0 yes I’m American. It’s a multi sport country. Not sure what your point is. We play many different sport. This is why we aren’t very good at soccer.
Fantastic video! I had no idea that they don't even know our best player. Even I know Lebron James as the current best basketball player, and I hate basketball 😅
The moment you went obese soccer/football is off the table. *aMurica*
And yet all those Olympic golds in track, swimming, gymnastics, etc. Be careful, one might think you don't know WTF you are talking about, sweetie :)
We don’t really care
~ rest of the world
I would rather watch paint dry than a baseball game.
That says more about you then baseball
same
Here is my take on soccer and why it will never and mean never be very popular in the US.
Yeah, but who's your MLS team?!? I can not respect someone who doesn't follow their own county's domestic league.

How about you add some actual sport too the sport instead of 9 billion ads
To be fair. The same way they look at soccer is the same i feel about American sports. I don't like anything about American sports
Fair enough
I'm weird because I like soccer and baseball lol
@thienphuchuynh8378 as we see in the video not everybody loves soccer in America.
Attention spans are 0%
Go to a baseball game and not pay attention, get hit by a ball, ur point was dumb, stop crying about americans not liking soccer it is weird
Baseball is the most boring sport ever! You bat and then have to wait to go through a lineup before you bat again. Then, if you are in the outfield, you are probably standing there for half the game. Lame! It is also one of the only sports I have seen overweight, so called athletes.
I guess not everyone thinks so
@supersubsoccer well, some people still think the earth is flat, but I guess we are all still entitled to our opinion...LOL!
First rule, stop calling it soccer.
No.
Soccer ⚽️
good who needs them
football
Go see the european football is more action combine with balleggs an baseball
baseball is the most digusting slow dull sports ever... I rather watch cricket than baseball.
cricket seems fun
Cricket is a lazy game
"disgusting" lol does it actually disgust you though?
You should check it out.
Football
