When I lived in Missouri I knew a family who lived out in one of the rural areas south of Lake of the Ozarks (a little north of I-44) who had been on the same land -- a beautiful place, quite a few acres in the hills, with a pond -- since around the time of the Civil War.

Wow those poor children watching their parents be killed ! It’s just all sad .
You know, I think a lot about people that have gone before me. So many, their lives meant something. I often walk in cemeteries. I really like the tombstones that have their photos on them. I look at them and I think they were alive once ….. and I wonder what their lives were like. Their lives had significance …. Now they are forgotten .
I visit my ancestors graves a lot . I think about their lives too .
Thank you for just allowing us to remember them .

Sadly the kind of respect you have for the ones who were here before us is uncommon these days. Especially among the younger people. I too love to walk in old cemeteries near and around where I live now and where I was raised as a child. So much history lays there. They say those who do not learn from history are bound to repeat it. I only hope that those who were murdered like the family in this video were able to maybe stop someone else from loosing their temper and killing some one else's family.

It's been a long time since I visited a graveyard, but I plan on doing more as my health allows it. I do a lot of genealogy research for my family and I'd like to go see the graves of those that I read about. Yes, it's so strange to think about those who have passed before. They're just like you and me. They lived their lives, loved and faced death. Every one of them have stories and I hope to meet many of them in heaven one day. The respect I feel for them now -- I'll carry that in my heart and it helps me to remember that we're not promised tomorrow. Live each day like it's your last.

Thank you for taking us along. Much appreciated and so sad. When I was a teenager of 16, I took a job watching 7 children aged 13 years to 13 months. Their parents were estranged but one very late night the husband came over drunk, making threats to all of us. I was so scared!! I did not tell my parents because I was so attached to those children. They had an old camper that we played in and even slept in one night. The mother worked in a bar in Ross, OH and was a little shady. The husband left that night taking the camper. We all fell asleep but early the next morning were awakened by police at the door telling us that the father had put a pipe on the exhaust and had killed himself!! I felt so badly for those kids!!!. I called my parents and went home that same day. I am now 67 years old and think about that night still when that poor man was threatening and pleading to come home. I often wonder what happened to those sweet children. Thanks for letting me vent and God bless you sir.

As a child, you would find me sitting quietly by the adults listening to their stories while other children played. I remember my grandma brushing her long silver hair while reminiscing of olden days. Often she would seat out in the porch and gaze longingly far away over the fields and mountains, eyes twinkling like a light bug. I knew a good, almost magical, moment of storytelling was about to commence. Country words spoken like an erudite. Gosh, I miss her.

This was done so well. I feel like you truly honored the family, and even showed respect to the murderer, as justice was served. It’s terrible what happened to this family. The fact that they entered Heaven together, is of comfort. I really enjoy this channel, and appreciate the work you put into your videos.

    Such a tragedy! 🙏
A neighbor of mine got a very bad head injury from a car wreck and wasn't the same afterwards. He was good natured, but after the accident he began having bouts of anger and it was impossible to know what would set him off. Sometimes he'd stew awhile, or minutes to days, then verbally attack.
Unable to trust him, we stayed clear of him and I wonder if Jodie's accident effected him the same. A brain injury that caused a short circuit.
Several years later my neighbor was in another car "accident" driving over 100mph into a building, but I suspect he killed himself because as time went by his condition worsened.
Thank you for an interesting, albeit horribly sad, story.
May they all be at peace. 🙏

I saw this picture on a post mortem and the narrator said it was a murder-suicide. Glad to learn the truth. So sad. Great video and you give voice to those lost to time

When I first saw that photo it reminded me a murder/suicide in my town about 30 years ago. A man known to be violent to his wife killed his whole family and placed the wife’s body along with the children’s bodies in a bed together. Then he lied in the bed and lulled himself. ⚰️⚰️⚰️⚰️⚰️👰‍♀️👩‍🍼👶🧒🔫💪🛏💀🪦

Lovely cemetery and memorial. It’s interesting how one becomes set on telling the stories of the dead after they’ve had to grieve themselves. What a beautiful way to honor these families. I like to imagine spirits listening to you tell the tale of their lives.

This is such a great opportunity to bring the past back to life, these people, simple,Hardworking, and also economically challenged. Great incite without any dragged out narration, Well done. Anyone could sympathize with such a senseless and tragic experience. Well, not too different from today's culture, just materials that changed.
