- The question that has already been asked a huge number of times; will I buy a McLaren 720S?
There are two parts to this, whether I would replace the 675LT Spider for it, and then whether it would make sense as a garage addition on its own. The difficulty is justifying two incredible expensive cars that are very similar; McLaren mid-engine supercars.
I'd love one down the line, but the short answer is not at this time, let's see!

Yeah, McLaren haven't announced announced a name but its well known internally, so much so the staff their start telling every tom, dick and harry.

After all the reviews I've seen, "mainly yours", I'm now a convert and think this is my favorite car. The fact that it's so much more fitted to be a daily driver is amazing and just as much improved performance wise.. it'd be a shame if you didn't @shmee150 !!! Especially with that wait for any improved versions!

And it is set on the highest quality setting? It has nothing to do with the cameras. The video is uploaded in 25 fps, because TH-cam still has the 50 fps issue. They have not fixed it yet, so I cannot go back to 50 fps.

@shmee150 As I am sure you are obviously aware that there have already been almost 2000 orders for the 720, and it is not limited. Your LT is obviously limited. It wouldn't make sense to replace it from a monetary point of view right now.

Be a very smart move, the timing could be perfect 👌. Always move with the time and technology the 720 Lt would be advanced compared to Ford Gt.. Unless you're planning on keeping for a higher premium in several years down the line, just my thoughts

650 is just a facelifted 12C which wasnt really nice looking car... Mclaren was aware about this issue, thats why 12C was facelifted so quickly.
Primož Mulec 650 is more then just a facelift lol. It's increased performance.
if you are a fan of insane speed because you drive insanely fast I.e. on a track then the 720s has I place in the garage. In others words not the right car for Schmee.
And I'm like: "hmm naa I can't afford that sandwhich right now..."

Shmee150 Are you worried that 675LT values will drop when the 750LT is announced? Are you planning on getting ahead of that by selling?
I thing think this is an absolutely spectacular car and would really like to see of it, especially on one of your road trips.
In my honest opinion as a friend Tim, you don't track any of your cars, not even the LT, However you do alot of traveling and only use your cars sometimes on the track for promotion use. I still respect your opinions. I rather be honest.
I do track them but not often. Simply not much time for it and the content hardly gets any views as soon as I get closer to a race track.
Shmee150 But with the addition of more track focused weapons like the LT & the AMG GT R to your garage, and you getting trained as a race driver, I bet new track content will be much more exciting. Don't you think?

A new series would be nice, where you visit several tracks and recording the fastest laps with diffrent cars of your fleet and try to breack your own laptimes.
I think you should wait a littlebit. The car is nice, but there will be more good cars from McLaren until 2022.

Enjoyed the two videos you have made on the 720S, with all the detail and features such as the loud start. I think it would be a nice car for you as it seems it would be great for road trips and its performance. But I would say no, as you said you have lots of cars coming and I am really hoping you get the GT3. Mr JWW has one ordered so I think you should wait then get the LT version to replace your 675LT Spider. Talking of which any news on the over heating issue?
If you would have the 720s, The Ford GT and the AMG GTR in your garage next to eachother that would be absolutely insane

Id love to see this in your garage Tim! But i dont know where it will fit currently. Most logical would be as replacement for the 675LT, maybe a little less special and more allround, but if you insist on keeping the LT for its hardcore driving i dont know. The FF is your people carrier so it has to stay. The GT8 is such personalised and different that it also cant leave. Wait! You should replace the mini with the 720S! you can do your city driving in the focus! Yeah problem solved! Ditch the mini and get yourself a second McLaren man! :-)
Buy it but keep the LT. And then use the Lt only for the most special events etc.

Didi78180x not really, depending on how long you've been on the channel it depends what u know about Shmee- by this i mean, he orders a car and then sells one of his current cars and uses the money from there for the new car and he gets TH-cam money too but it's all well earned.

Glad you reminded everyone it's a 650s replacement and did not compare it to 675lt. Looking at it like this it looks like a really positive progression for McLaren. Just hope they will let owners enjoy it before trumping it too soon. For the record I think it looks amazing from the angles iv seen in all the different videos.

Funny thing. I actually saw the 720s in person 2 weeks ago. And didn't realize it until rewatched this video! So I guess I'm.learning a lot from the exotic shmee tutorials lol.

This is the best car for you and the worst car to buy. Since its awesome and has so much storage space it is perfect, but just doesn't make sense for you to buy. Gonna be a big depreciation hit and the LT version will be much better. I'd keep your LT for now and once the LT version comes out for this get that.

I'd like to know did Mclaren increase the fuel capacity of the gas tank? Nineteen gal. means refilling about every 200 - 250 miles. Twenty-five gal. would seem to be just about correct.
I agree you should keep the 675LT for a while longer. It's still a worthy flagship in your garage. Mr. JWW has a 720S coming in July, so perhaps wait it out and get the next Super Series LT to replace the 675.

The 720s is setting the trend for supercars to come but I would wait on the beefed up version like a 745LT ☺
Personally, I would replace the 675 with this. But as you said it's your garage and keeping the cars that speak to you and you love is primary. Still, I will think this car will stay in the back of your mind for quite a while.

I dnt really think you should get another mclaren, i would love seing you have something unique , crazy more like a track toy , maybe an Atom or something, but whatever you get will always support you

This is what you should go for Shmee, a supercar with both GT and track characteristics ie, best of both worlds. I believe McLaren had people like you in mind while designing this epic machine. --cheers!
Sell the Ford GT and The Vanquish eventually and get the 720s and then replace the FF with the GTC4 Lusso !

I agree.The 675LT is more limited in numbers and to me,looks better and has no "eye bags" to make it look old.Even a 688HS would be better or a Liberty Walk 650S.
It certainly would make sense to have one at some point and save some serious money due to its overall capabilities, instead of having 2 or 3 different cars for different purposes. A supercar faster than the LT, practical and spacious cruiser/GT and it attracts the attention so the sense of occasion is there. You could get rid of the FF and the Vanquish and get one temporarily and later get a GTC4 Lusso or a 812 Superfast for the V12 cravings.

What will be a great third car for me the mclaren 720s or the mclaren 675LT????? The two first cars I would like to have is the Lamborghini aventador sv and the Lamborghini huracan performente. The aventador sv will be the flagship for my garage. And along side of the Lamborghini huracan performente. But between the 720s or 675 LT hard choose???
I think you should definitely go for one man, even if it does mean selling your LT. I think it would make the perfect replacement :)

It's a new generation that doesn't mean better, I don't think Tim will get one Mr. JWW ordered one and as a TH-camr you don't want to copy someones idea. I hope the next car that Tim will buy will be Ford GT especially the grey one from Geneva.

a more thoughtful video on the 720 as opposed to the ones that want to throw it into a hedge asap! Mclaren really are on a roll now with these cars & have some great features. It would seem to be a more useable car than the LT, but guess it's down to personal choice. Cheers!
I think this is the perfect substitute for you 675LT, newer more beautiful and just the same great brand. I think that is the time to let go and bring some more stuff into your garage. Of course is all up to you.
Get the 745 LT which I'm guessing it will go on the lines as the 650s to the 675 LT, so basically the LT version if it comes by!

Buying any McLaren is a no brainer, they are the ultimate.
What I can conclude from most of the reviews on the 720S is that as a roadcar it isn't as exciting as the 675LT. Rightly so since the philosophy between the two is very different. Personally, I wouldn't even consider trading the 675LT in for a 720S, although it is the newer car it would be a step backwards I think. The LT version of the new car is the perfect moment for you to trade in your 675LT Spider.

mark ratcliffe The Ford GT will double if not triple in value while the 720s will only lose value. There will not be another Ford GT for who knows how long while there will be plenty Mclarens taking the 720's place.
since you wouldn't get one of the first, I'd wait until a special edition comes up so you can minimize any depreciation
I say yes!! The 720 would be a nice addition. I do understand the conflict of the currents being special and limited editions...hard choice. But in my opinion, the car fits ya bro. Your already super comfortable with the car. But if the car i think you reeeeeally want? The pagani! :)
Definitely buy it if you can afford. That's the most beautiful supercar for ca 200k gbp right now and for sure one of the most advanced. I'd buy it if I were you. I'd definitely love to see your review from a long trip around Europe in 720s :)
I think this car is amazing. I wouldn't buy one but I would like to see the drift control tested out more.
