Sumner High School was the only high school in the state of Kansas that was established for African Americans from 1905 to 1978. In its short history, much was accomplished academically, athletically, and historically. Sumner High School Alumni Association's main goal is to keep that history alive through story-telling and sharing personal accounts. The Association's mission it making sure that it is known that some of the Country's finest are Sumner High School Spartans.
