The noble M600 , granted I'd already been seen thousands of cars before it but seeing the M600 debut at a motorshow years ago just made my jaw drop! Still one of my favorite if not my favorite super car still today
Don't laugh, but the head turner for me was original Capri, bear in mind I was a kid living in Nairobi at the time
The first cargo turn my head properly was… A Cadillac coupe devil. Because I live in the uk it’s rare to see any American cars
My E46 330ci Clubsport in Velvet blue turns heads like crazy. Only 40 ever made in that colour too so it's super rare

They may be cheap to buy but are definitely not cheap to run or fix when things go wrong...the e46 M3 will bankrupt you when it goes wrong if you do not earn a sizable salary...
The car that stopped me was the TVR Cerbera. It's still a beautiful car! ❤

I never forget seeing a Lotus Carlton in the 90s I was in awe how fast that thing went.
The first car that turned my head around was the Lamborghini Diablo SV in Bright yellow with the SV badge painted accross the side. To add to that the rev was blistering loud. I first saw it at the age of 11 I'm 33 now and I can still play the moment back as if it were yesterday.

Saw a LaFerrari parked up down the road from where I work. I died. Also saw a Pagani Huayra on the motorway, which was also pretty mental 👌🏻

Someone I know just bought a Mk7 Fiesta, which is kind of a default answer to your question. Having driven that and a Gallardo this year (and 2000 miles in a Cayman S, see old JB video reviewing my white one!), I can safely say if you want pure driving fun, a Fiesta is very hard to beat. Get the Black/Red edition with the Ecoboost 1.0 and they're not slow either, although like the ST, good luck finding one that's never been upside-down in a hedge. Other downside is reliability, or the complete lack thereof, if you want that, get a Swift Sport.

I entirely mean that as a compliment 😄 Wanting an LS400 is the best sort of mad, as long as you can afford the running costs! Lexus reliability is out the window at that age (it's all about condition/past maintenance) and efficiency isn't a thing...totally worth it though.

I've had an IS220d, IS250 and GS450h. Lexus make some great cars (and some crap ones...CT200h) and are one of the few brands that hasn't got much of a negative image which is a bonus. I reckon you'll get a lot of positive reactions in an LS400.

Car that made me stop and stare, recently it's the C8 Corvette. Saw one in the Budapest last month, haven't seen any in the UK yet, was pretty nice. Slight bias - a French guy I was with (and hadn't spoken to before) laughed and said "is that your car?" but it happened to be in exactly the same colour scheme, white with black wheels/mirrors/badges 😄 Told him I wouldn't swap, although the porker is going after Goodwood...not for a C8 though, I get expensed mileage but it's not enough to cover 0.1 mpg or whatever those get!
From this list though, the Elan is the standout, got to be the car geek's choice!

Saw a c8 at classic car show Southend 2 weeks ago. Pretty mental to say the least...
The car that turned my head was a Corvette C5 Z06, but the car was just parked for a few weeks then never saw it again.
Also my two favourites are the Bugeye Impreza WRX STI and the M3 E46, very hard to choose between the two but I'd definitely say they're rival cars.

What about 5-10 cars ideal for elderly people? Small (eg not huge), cheap to repair, low fuel consumption (eg not much horsepower), easily to go into and out of?

@@federalex I was thinking especially about the Yaris (second gen., xp90), but the front is poor visible (missing frontal distance indicators) and not that high door post/roof. I would suggest Renault Modus. Idk about reliability. Toyota Yaris really might be the best, after all.
