Love Max's since they were on the Boardwalk. There was nothing better than sitting outside on the deck at the old Max's looking at the Ocean. I always ordered a dog w/ onion rings, corn on the cob and a cold mug of Budweiser. I remember in 2005 when I had foot surgery at Jersey Shore Hospital. I kept telling my GF " When I get out of here, I want to go to Max's" over and over again. So when I got out, we drove to Max's; We walked in and Bobbie asked me 'What happened to my foot? ' I told him about the accident I had and He sat with me for a few minutes. I told him that I was dying to come here for a Hot dog and he had the biggest smile on his face. You could not find more nicer people in the business than them, Mr. and Mrs. Max, Bobbie, everyone. May they all be with the Lord and RIP.
God I miss windmill hotdogs. I used to live in Spring lake and Belmar NJ and my dad lived there until he moved to FL about 10 years ago. That’s the last time I have there. And now my mouth is watering. Thank u

So good! I heard that Schickhaus brand is no more but there is a similar replacement under the brand name Wennings. Gotta check in with Jennifer and see how they're handling the change...
Ate at Max's once. Dirty, terrible service, hot dogs were mediocre. I never went back. Windmill is the best. I've been eating there almost 40 years. The hot dogs and the staff are great!
Totally disagree with the characterization of Max's, especially after the 2019 renovations. But this sounds about par for the course in the classic rivalry between the fans of both places! I happen to love each of them in their own special way!
