- After our South Coast road trip, we headed back to Iceland's capital city, Reykjavik with our top 5 activities that take you beyond the typical tourist spots. From quirky museums to otherworldly landscapes, join us on a journey through this vibrant capital city and its unique surroundings.
#1: The Blue Lagoon: Not that weird at first glance, but trust us - this is a strange place
#2: Explore Downtown Reykjavik: From interesting art, delicious food and vibrant nightlife - this little city is well worth a visit.
#3: Visit the Viking Festival: Every June, real vikings come out of retirement to put on a one-of-a-kind show for visitors.
#4: Phallological Museum: Yes, you read that right! This museum boasts an impressive collection of phallic specimens from various species, making it one of the quirkiest stops in Reykjavik.
#5: Leave Reykjavik: With so many amazing natural wonders within a few hours drive, you'd be missing out if you didn't skip town for at least a half day. We checked out the South Coast and it's famous black sand beaches and waterfalls.
BONUS: We tried the famed Icelandic fermented shark and "black death" shot. Watch to the end to see what we thought!
Oh yeah, everybody should do the blue lagoon. And eat the shark.
Yep! Once in a lifetime experiences! 😀
