    What's sad is everyone knows that if he wasn't who he is, that flight attendant would have gotten away with this and nothing would have happened. The guy would have went to jail, had to pay a bond, and hire a lawyer. All that money spent and time that you can never get back. That would have been the outcome for anyone else. But because he plays for the NFL that's why we are hearing about this. That's the real travesty about all this. Cowards like that flight attendant are doing things like this everyday.

      It’s terrible. And this guy even though he apologizes just plain doesn’t care about what kind of issue he creates by being this way. And how much he affects people around him and being a flight attendant prob is pretty self focused. They tend to be chosen for that role bc they are self care people.

    However, this particular flight attendant had a very different agenda, and maybe recognized Terrell and took advantage wanting to financially gain of the situation. so I hope that Terrel decides to press charges. • @loki2240
      @loki2240 หลายเดือนก่อน +27

      @@yakeishaallen5343- No, it isn't illegal. It's typically against the policy of American law enforcement agencies, but it isn't illegal. There are just legal limits on how long officers can incarcerate you without formal charges. But even if they violate that, they're very unlikely to be criminally charged (but you can sue the government).
      Also, officers can completely change their stated basis for arrest, after the fact. They can detain and arrest you without a valid basis, and then analyze bodycam footage and find what could've been a valid basis but was not at all a factor in their behavior at the time. And officers can arrest you for any unlawful activity, including simple traffic violations. It doesn't have to be a crime or a serious traffic infraction. All that and more is the result of judges deferring to law enforcement "in the interests of public safety." We allow people who aren't like us and who don't have to deal with the issues of regular people to control our governments, and then we wonder why our governments serve us so poorly.

My Son is 28 yrs old now and when he was 9 months old my husband and I took him on a United flight to LA California and as we approached the boarding agent to hand our boarding pass over, i reached into my purse to retrieve the pass and another United employee snatched my Son out of my arms in an extremely hostile manor and yelled just hurry up and get the pass already!!! I am African American- she was African American. They know that they can treat other Blacks any kind of way and get away with it. I of course took my baby back and demanded she never do this again. She made us stand to the side. Didn’t allow us to board, then told us we were kicked off of the flight because we were being difficult. They have gotten away with this for far too long. I’m a retired air marshal. I’ve had to arrest a person for a similar overreaction of a flight attendant. The captain also bears responsibility. They way too often take the word of a flight attendant that a passenger is abusive towards them without any questioning. They can order an arrest if Marshal’s are on board. If not, then it happens upon landing. I hated that. Most flight attendants are great but a handful are very sensitive. Airlines need better recurring training with FA’s, and Captains should step out and briefly investigate before ordering an arrest

    It happened to my husband and myself on an American Airlines flight to Cancun. The flight attendant started yelling at everyone loudly, frightening children stating that while he speaks, we are all, including small children to be silent in his presence. Exact wording. We were all shocked, a dr on the row behind us told him he was being inappropriate, which led to more shouting from the attendant, not the passenger. For those of you who are not aware of him from his football career, just a few facts. He suffered from migraines and made it his life's mission to reach out to others suffering from migraines and to raise awareness and money. His touchdown celebration was literally a military salute because he wanted to give appreciation to service personnel (why don't we cheer them like we cheer football players?). Thanks, Terrell, for being a voice. I don't have your platform, but I do have a wallet! My trip trip to Rome will no longer include ANY flights with United Airlines! I agree with you 100%. But law enforcement has to have accountability also. STOP taking flight crew words as God and not investigating without treating passengers like criminals..remember 7 years ago when LE was called (United also) about a passenger "refusing" to give up their seat and was injured while being forcibly removed.

    I first met Terrell Davis and his brothers when he was 5 years old. He was my next door neighbor in San Diego on Latimer Street in the Valencia park area. His mother and my mother were best friends. Directly across the street from Terrell’s family were the mother and father of the San Diego Chargers running back or should I have said wide receiver Charlie Joiner. That neighborhood had a lot of great athletes, artists and musicians back in the day and some who went on to be famous.

    That’s crazy how easily someone can be arrested based on statements made by others, only for apologies to follow. TB has a good reputation and has always conducted himself in a respectable manner. Despite the harm caused by the situation, it's encouraging to see him taking action to address it! Someone needs to be held accountable because, as he has shared, this has happened more than once.

    They are only sorry they got caught. I understand why the police or fbi tried to do it as quietly as possible, fearing that once they said something you could speak up and try to disprove it and they wanted as little disruption as possible. However they should have just asked you politely if you would come off the plane and speak to them. So it’s not only United who did a bad job. It’s law enforcement too. If someone said a person hit them and then an entire flight ensued where said person was not violent then that should have been taken in to account. The only reason United is apologizing however is because of the optics. They don’t care. If this never hit the media they would not apologize.

      @@roots1458 as a retired police officer with 32 years of experience. These officers did a terrible job. You never hear one side of as story and make an arrest in this situation, without talking to both sides and any potential witnesses. Especially when the accused is non-combative. You can have him exit the plane and then interview him. Once you place the handcuffs on, you are depriving him of his freedom and making an arrest.
