I had a German Shepherd for 10 years. Best dog I ever had. Intelligent and sweet natured. I consider him to be one of the best things that ever happened in my whole life. He loved me and I loved him.
German Shepherd is a versatile breed... They are very smart, very jealous :), they idolize their family! For Malinois, their work and training come first.

Be aware that if you retire at a normal retirement age it may be tough to find energy to keep up. At my age I’m happier with a lazier dog who calms down after his daily ten mile walk. 🤣. OTOH I may retire to raise sheep in which case energetic dogs will be a necessity.
@malinoisLinda I thought about this dog bread for an acreage guard dog but those dogs are too full on! I think I will stick with my blue healer who are still quite full on but can be left alone after training them on the farm as a watch/guard dog because that's the daily task job I give them
To me, the problem with a malinois is their ability to climb. I don't see how any fence could contain an adult one. I could never trust letting them out in the backyard alone.

@@malinoisLinda and with good training, thats very important. They are not for everyone. My loki was found abandoned, likely by someone who couldn't handle him. He's a great dog. Protective,affectionate,smart,and he's a clown too.
I was screened before I rescued loki. They checked a lot, talked to my vet about my care of my cats. Checked for any animal neglect or cruelty charges. Did a home visit to see if I had the room, and a safe environment. I passed easily. My vet told them I was very proactive when it came to my pets health. That my cats are healthy, fed properly,and are cared for well. I'm so glad loki is in my life. My grand daughter named him for me, lol. He is a trickster so it fits him. He is all black weighs 90 pounds. Has the big mali ears. He's a perfect example of the mali breed. I have had him trained proffesionaly for the basics, and to be a guard/protection dog. My friend Trained him. He trained sheperds, and malis in the army for 30 years.

This is my favorite breed of dog!!! But unfortunately, dog shelters around the world are overcrowded with Malinois... They are not suitable for everyone.
The breed is complex! But if you have a great desire, free time and access to classes with a professional canine trainer (group lessons), then the Malinois will become a good friend...

The .imitary uses them too. American special forces, military police, marine security guards. They use them for a lot. They are highly intelligent,athletic, strong, easy to train.

Сейчас малинки опять входят в моду, а они сложнее немцев и ВЕО другие они. Я подобрала такую прелесть четырёх лет, которую выбрасывали из семьи неоднократно, пожалели, пригрели , моего десятилетнего сына она через несколько месяцев повалила на пол и чуть не скальпировала, ели отодрали , я схватила за хвост и с размаху ударила её об угол шкафа, она потеряла сознание, выбросила на балкон. Э после этого она не стала шёлковой сразу, рычала, скатилась, сыну наложили на голову и лицо много швов, лежал в больнице дней десять и уговорить не отдавать. Её брали в охрану в частной конюшне. Сообща справились, но она пыталась броситься на бабушку и её добрую старую собачку. Моя жизнь превратилась в ад, постоянное напряжение. Так было долго эта тварь выбрала в хозяева меня, слушалась любила. Через 12 лет она стала стареть. Сын сносил её на руках с пятого этажа оправиться. Ушла наша Кора 16-17лет любимой собакой, член семьи. Всех потом сравнивали с Корой, были немка, бультерьер, восточник----Кора была лучшей, но... 100раз подумайте ,не обольщайтесь. Сложная, но ломать её НЕЛЬЗЯ!!!!!

My daught was given a wolf..took lots of continuous training night and day for months..she and daught never faultered. They interchanged nights..it paid off ,however, still puppy stuff during those months like the chewing, etc. but she stayed on task with her training..she beautiful. Loves the dog beach in Cali...
Malenois are NOT as obnoxious as this video suggests. Rough play encourages rough behavior. Our Malenois is VERY active, plays hard, but does not get that rude and rowdy. Smart enough to know the difference between play and "protector".

@@malinoisLinda In my life I’ve had four seal point Siamese cats, I love them for their deep meows, they answer when spoken too, they are all individually wonderful and so protective; I also had a part German shepherd part collie and my first Siamese took to him like a buddy. Everytime I see a malinois they remind me of the Siamese because of the colouring, the black muzzle black pointed ears etc. I’ve never seen one in person, but they are so protective, intelligent and loving. I want to warn you that this is a difficult breed of dog! If you do not devote time to obedience training and socialization, then the Malinois will disappoint you!
It seems like yesterday my Dutch Sheperd was this age. It is a full-time commitment that reaps great rewards. Proof is in the pudding. The flip side of these dogs is total love and loyalty
@malinoisLinda I was very blessed to have a 70 years of experience trainer. Im 60 year old ,F, and Mr. Evans was over Castle Air Force Base K-9 when I was a kid. Today, he certifies K-9 Police dogs with the police force, courts , and judges. He taught me a lot about these high-energy dogs
@malinoisLinda been breeding and training my entire life and it's absolutely heart breaking to tell another that they simply arnt built for owning these dogs or that they can't work them onto their lives. "OH you live in a 2 bedroom and both you and your mate work 40 hours a week with 2 hours of travel every day? You don't have the time let alone the know how to give this breed the things it needs and you'll end up jist returning it to me after 8 to 12 months" these things are a decade plus long commitment abd they only truly imprint onto 1 person from start. You gotta see them through their lives. Wanna dog that doesn't require much work but is great, I suggest a bulldog
@@malinoisLindaI had a tough time finding decent housing with a 100lb service GSD and my mom said "maybe give up captain" simply shook my head and said "I literally cannot do that." Bit the financial bullet and got him a expensive place with a fenced yard. He wouldn't leave either way but makes me feel more secure. Dog cost me 30 grand lmao, not leaving an investment like that.
Malinois dogs can be very fierce and overly territorial. My aunt had two of them she raised from puppies but had to give one of them away as the dog wss always attacking and biting guests at her house. She's had many other dogs of breeds that are known to be biters, but she was able to raise them to be good natured towards other people. But she just can't get the overly aggressive temptsment that her Malinoise dogs had, so she decided to give the fiercer one away to a dog trainer she knew that offered to take the dog. The Mslinois that stayed with her is not as bad as the one she gave away, but you still have to watch your step around him if you are a new visitor at her house. He has the scariest growl I ever heard from a dig when I went for a visit to her house; not too long ago.
The problem is that your aunt did not devote her time to dog training, dog socialization... With Malinois, such maintenance is dangerous. Malinois are not aggressive by nature, they are just hyperactive and have a very excitable psyche!

Not all people can cope with even one Malinois puppy :)) this is not an easy breed...

The .imitary uses them too. American special forces, military police, marine security guards. They use them for a lot. They are highly intelligent,athletic, strong, easy to train.

Скоро этих собак будет много выброшенных. Это очень сложная порода, с ней нужно много работать и работать с умом и терпение и м, в семье с детьми они требуют долгого внимания.. Нельзя тупо умиляться т обцелововать, и ломать опасно
Сейчас малинки опять входят в моду, а они сложнее немцев и ВЕО другие они. Я подобрала такую прелесть четырёх лет, которую выбрасывали из семьи неоднократно, пожалели, пригрели , моего десятилетнего сына она через несколько месяцев повалила на пол и чуть не скальпировала, ели отодрали , я схватила за хвост и с размаху ударила её об угол шкафа, она потеряла сознание, выбросила на балкон. Э после этого она не стала шёлковой сразу, рычала, скатилась, сыну наложили на голову и лицо много швов, лежал в больнице дней десять и уговорить не отдавать. Её брали в охрану в частной конюшне. Сообща справились, но она пыталась броситься на бабушку и её добрую старую собачку. Моя жизнь превратилась в ад, постоянное напряжение. Так было долго эта тварь выбрала в хозяева меня, слушалась любила. Через 12 лет она стала стареть. Сын сносил её на руках с пятого этажа оправиться. Ушла наша Кора 16-17лет любимой собакой, член семьи. Всех потом сравнивали с Корой, были немка, бультерьер, восточник----Кора была лучшей, но... 100раз подумайте ,не обольщайтесь. Сложная, но ломать её НЕЛЬЗЯ!!!!!

My daught was given a wolf..took lots of continuous training night and day for months..she and daught never faultered. They interchanged nights..it paid off ,however, still puppy stuff during those months like the chewing, etc. but she stayed on task with her training..she beautiful. Loves the dog beach in Cali...
Your daughter is a very responsible person! Respect to her for that! There is no way to manage a Malinois without training.

Malenois are NOT as obnoxious as this video suggests. Rough play encourages rough behavior. Our Malenois is VERY active, plays hard, but does not get that rude and rowdy. Smart enough to know the difference between play and "protector".
There are exceptions to the rules...
But by and large, all Malinois puppies are predators :)))

@@malinoisLinda In my life I’ve had four seal point Siamese cats, I love them for their deep meows, they answer when spoken too, they are all individually wonderful and so protective; I also had a part German shepherd part collie and my first Siamese took to him like a buddy. Everytime I see a malinois they remind me of the Siamese because of the colouring, the black muzzle black pointed ears etc. I’ve never seen one in person, but they are so protective, intelligent and loving. It seems like yesterday my Dutch Sheperd was this age. It is a full-time commitment that reaps great rewards. Proof is in the pudding. The flip side of these dogs is total love and loyalty

@malinoisLinda I was very blessed to have a 70 years of experience trainer. Im 60 year old ,F, and Mr. Evans was over Castle Air Force Base K-9 when I was a kid. Today, he certifies K-9 Police dogs with the police force, courts , and judges. He taught me a lot about these high-energy dogs

@malinoisLinda been breeding and training my entire life and it's absolutely heart breaking to tell another that they simply arnt built for owning these dogs or that they can't work them onto their lives. "OH you live in a 2 bedroom and both you and your mate work 40 hours a week with 2 hours of travel every day? You don't have the time let alone the know how to give this breed the things it needs and you'll end up jist returning it to me after 8 to 12 months" these things are a decade plus long commitment abd they only truly imprint onto 1 person from start. You gotta see them through their lives. Wanna dog that doesn't require much work but is great, I suggest a bulldog
@@malinoisLindaI had a tough time finding decent housing with a 100lb service GSD and my mom said "maybe give up captain" simply shook my head and said "I literally cannot do that." Bit the financial bullet and got him a expensive place with a fenced yard. He wouldn't leave either way but makes me feel more secure. Dog cost me 30 grand lmao, not leaving an investment like that.

Malinois dogs can be very fierce and overly territorial.
My aunt had two of them she raised from puppies but had to give one of them away as the dog wss always attacking and biting guests at her house. She's had many other dogs of breeds that are known to be biters, but she was able to raise them to be good natured towards other people. But she just can't get the overly aggressive temptsment that her Malinoise dogs had, so she decided to give the fiercer one away to a dog trainer she knew that offered to take the dog. The Mslinois that stayed with her is not as bad as the one she gave away, but you still have to watch your step around him if you are a new visitor at her house. He has the scariest growl I ever heard from a dig when I went for a visit to her house; not too long ago.
The problem is that your aunt did not devote her time to dog training, dog socialization... With Malinois, such maintenance is dangerous. Malinois are not aggressive by nature, they are just hyperactive and have a very excitable psyche!
