Saw them with Dropkick Murphys a few years back. Met a couple members of Flogging Molly at the after party. They both put on one hell of a show, both are 100% worth seeing.
It's super fun whenever they have to go into a song that has a lot of addition instrumentation (like bagpipes, accordion, flute, etc.) and suddenly there's like 8 or 9 guys up there on stage all performing xD Love Flogging Molly and Dropkick too. High recommendations.
Boondock Saints is a classic, gotta watch it! Even though actual Irish people will savagely make fun of the fake Irish accents of the two lead characters. One of the lead characters is from Florida, and the other was born in Louisiana and raised in Texas. So, an authentic Irish accent obviously doesn't come easy for them. 😅
You know the lyrics are about The Troubles right? He makes it pretty clear with lines like: "the shepherds led the lambs astray to the bigot and the gun" and "knelt in conscience, blessed to kill."
I was friends with Matt Hensley, the accordionist, in the early to mid '90s when he lived in the Chicago area. Felt proud of him when Flogging Molly formed. Such a great band.
The singer, Dave King, was lead singer for the 80’s Metal Band Fastway. Their songs “Float” and “If I Ever Leave this World Alive”, are awesome, and lyrically beautiful. The video for float is amazing. The “Hay Bale Sessions” acoustic version of “If I Ever Leave this World Alive”, is sweet. 🍀
i got very drunk with Flogging Molly in Japan once in Osaka in 2009, then they gave my family tickets to the show in Tokyo 2 nights later, so that was awesome
Saw Flogging Molly last year. I'm more of a casual fan with this being my favorite song of theirs, so I only planned to stay for like half of their set. I ended up staying the entire set because it was so good! They put on a great show and bring all the energy
I just saw them live a couple of weeks ago for the first time here in NY. Although, I got a bit fucked up in the moshpit (I'm 37...too old), it was an AWESOME time haha.
I forgot about this era were those ultra Boston bands got really popular for a while. Flogging Molly, The Dropkick Murphys, Till Tuesday, The Mighty Bostones.
"We'd skate all day, skate to the pub, have pints, skate to the venue for the show and have to check our boards like they were bags" that's it. That's the experience of skating in your twenties in the mid aughts lmao. "I know I can hit this darkslide but I'm too fuckin tilted from the Jamo shots to land it" edit: I still wear a flatcap though. Always have, always will. Buchanan colors no less
Loved your reaction. I was a useless skater back in -77. Crappy handstands and like. Now im a 60 y.o, walkin with crotches. I should have kept on skating hehe😊t... luv your chanel, keep on please. Greetings from Jonas Gothenburg Sweden. Ps. Where are you fromma
Well now, we definitely need to see Ash react to "What's Left of the Flag"! One of their best tunes. Either that, or you could go deeper and get into the super sea shanty zone with "Seven Deadly Sins" or "Tobacco Island".
Wow dont see much Flogging Molly stuff out there lol I used to go to their shows from around the time the 1st album was released and they were so amazing. Some of the best times ive had. Once was in a small pub and the whole damn place was the friendliest mosh pit ever and some parts everybody had their arms over each others shoulders singing and spilling beer all over the place from waving them around 😂 the beat show ive ever been to was Flogging Molly and Andrew WK. Fuckin wiiiild show
Great reactio. For a contrast you should check out the singer's old band Fastway - Say What You Will. He formed it in the 80's with the bass player from UFO, guitar player from Motorhead, and the drummer from Humble Pie. AMazing band. He also has another project called Katmandu that was really great also.
the group of dudes on a scooter is pretty odd to see for me. in the US scooters are kind of seen as the lame version of motorcycles. You definitely wouldn't seen a bunch of dudes out together on them over here. Scooters are usually some hipster thinking its cool or someone who REALLY wants to save on fuel. You definitely won't see scooter riders portrayed as "cool" like you do in this video.
RE:::::::::SAD THE POGUES SHOULD BE HEARD ONLY REAL IRISH!!!!!! RIP SHANE!!!! SHAME ON YALL DO IR PROPER..........EVEN HIS SOLO STUFF THE SONG WITH NO NAME IS MY FAV EVER BY HIM N FAV POGUES DIRTY OLD TOWN!!!
If you ever get a chance to see Flogging Molly live, do it 100% percent. Absolutely one of the best live performances I've seen.

I'd never heard of them My kid turned me on to them I end up going to two shows with her
@@dan112965 Tell your daughter that her taste in music kicks ass :D
The accordian player Matt Hensley is a pro skater but the dude skating in the video is Patrick Melcher

You've never seen Boondocks Saints?! Ash...enlighten him! ❤

The Fiddle and Violin is the same instrument. the difference is in the technique used to play it
The way I heard it, the difference is a violin player would be horrified to get even a little beer on their violin. A fiddle player, not so much.
Just saw them again a couple of weeks ago. They always put on a fun show!

If I Ever Leave This World Alive is the song to check out

Nice, "To Youth" by Flogging Molly is another great hit!
One never watched Boondock Saints, and the other never listened to Flogging Molly. Are you sure you two aren't Brits? 🤣😂🍀

Have you listened to, or seen Dropkick Murphys? You'll love them.
They talk about Shipping Off to Boston, so I'm assuming that the answer is yes.
And yes, Dropkick are _very_ awesome.

My favorite flogging Molly song is “devils dance floor”, they have some really good story songs
Favorite Flogging Molly song is "The Rare Ould TImes"
Matt Hensley influenced my early skateboarding.
H-Street I’d go bombing a a hill with you Dave.
Can you get a DUI, or the UK equivalent, on a skateboard? 😅

OB Dave looks like the skateboarder.
I had no idea Dave made and starred in videos.
HOORAYYYYYYYYYYY
Rebels Of The Sacred Heart is a good one.
Guys, how could you do St Paddy's without a Pogues reaction? Or at least the Dubliners.

The skateboarder looks like American Dave...js.
If you two want a funny song, try Ray Steven's "I'm my own grandpa "...
I mean... Dave's stories are kinda accessibly punk...
Hiberno-Americans love this shit... well... this one does?
