The Simpsons bit was all Family guy's doing. I am sure the producers gave them permission, but that was not Marge's Simpsons voice. But they have done an hour-long episode where Family guy go to Springfield and meet the Simpsons.

Let me break this down for you. Family Guy is a show that got started in late 90s. Back then, creating animation was a way different ball game than it is now. You can see this in all sorts of shows, including The Simpsons, Family Guy, American Dad, South Park, and so forth. Newsflash - technology has been evolving exponentially since before you were even born! You should know that by now.

My fav is when Family Guy[Seth McFarlane] acknowledges reality and admits that Simpsons did EVERYTHING. After 25 years of seasons, what’s left? That was his point of imitating it at times. Even with the crossover. Genius writing [sometimes flops on both ends, not enduring idea is great], and they still entertain. Not as much as South Park. They must’ve started drinking the Adrenochrome!! Made in Ukraine.

Nah it wasn’t a crossover, they just over threw shots at eachother back then. It wasn’t till a couple years ago that they made a real collaboration episode.
