Small bucket so most likely iron ore. He is a little slow though. That loader is smooth as silk with LeTourneau’s switch reluctance drive system.
The biggest is a Letourneau 2350!!
Oh how I miss working big. Retiring to pouring pure silver has helped the loss of my job of many years just doesn't quite cut it so before you retire have a plan to keep busy and creative my friends.

The turbos on that thing must be the size of a truck tire.
That operator is slower than a snail going backwards.
I was an operator and service technician for most of my working days. (now retired) There is nothing I can think of that raises all that much adrenaline for me. Once into the cab and flash that puppy up was/is such a great feeling.

The armchair “experts” pontificate everything the operator is doing wrong. Makes them feel really smart. The owners of that loader dictate how productive they want that equipment operated.
And I know a mine operator that would fire that loader operator really really fast.
@@halffast7799 obviously the mine operator where that operator works approves? Why is that? They don’t just throw inexperienced operators in machines like that.
Any "mine owner" that approves of how that machine is being operated won't be in business long. A machine like that, along with the trucks and other support vehicles and personnel, have a astronomical cost per hour to operate. While taking care of equipment is important, that is NOT what this display of incompetence is showing. You MUST produce yardage to cover operating costs. This is not doing that.
As for armchair, the biggest Letourneau I have run is the L1400. Most of my time on Caterpillar loaders. Tens of thousands of operating hours on wheel loaders. That loader, in that material, should be doing 4 passes in under 2 minutes......

Why is there chunks out of the front tyre?
@kevinsimpson1884 That is caused by harsh digging conditions often found at the mine site.The operator is not able to avoid all the sharp and abrasive rock. So there will always be wear and tear to the front tires. The main way to prevent damage, would be to install tire chains.They work very well and greatly improve the working life of giant wheel loader tires.Keep in mind that tire chains are extremely expensive and must be installed by experienced professionals. The chains need to be perfectly fitted to the huge tire, and there needs to be regular maintenance done as well. Some equipment owners will install a full set of 4 chains on the wheel loader, but many will only install chains on the front tires. Obviously the front tires will take the most abuse during the loading cycle.There are many different factors that will determine tire life on a wheel loader.Things such as operating technique, tire pressure, etc. The tires must be a very good match for the working conditions. If conditions are extreme you probably should purchase a top of the line set of tires and immediately install chains on the front tires and possibly on all 4. Anyway you look at it, tires and tire protection are a major expense but it’s the cost of doing business.Take Care.

Terrible operator, constantly spinning the rear wheels which leaves a crap floor so when he reverses back over his wheel spins there is spillage going everywhere, he cant lift the boom as soon as he leaves the face because of all his wheel ruts so he has to wait every time with the truck in front just to get the boom up, then he leaves about 50T on the floor behind the truck and as the truck pulls away, the truck spills crap everywhere.
HOW NOT TO OPERATE A BIG LOADER should be the name of this video..
