The Zoom PodTrak P8 is easy to use and can handle the most ambitious podcasts. With all the functions you need to record, edit and mix, the PodTrak P8 is your complete podcast studio.
Is it possible have a firmware update to have 24-bit or 32-bit? You have a great product but "44.1 kHz / 16-Bit" is a limitation. Are you planning on a firmware update for the Zoom L8 and L12 to have a limiter, compressor, DeEssor and other similar functions like on the P8?
These are questions that I too would love to have answered. Really like the L8 but feel it"s highly lacking in eq, compression, limiter... Love the p8 for the same reasons but can imagine why it is limited to 44k? It's like Zoom is shooting itself in the foot on purpose! Basically forcing us into the Rode!
Yeah this would be great to know. I'm sold on this over the rodecaster but I really need this thing to pump out 48 khz. Only thing from stopping me buying it
Guys, it's not a job accident. It's just the deliberate product spoilage. ZOOM is trying to force people having need for 24bit/48 recording using different recorders meant for video. This is pure selling politic. I do not doubt this. We should complain on forum across the whole audio internet, maybe then ZOOM officers and engineers will realise, that due to their stupid attitude toward us they are loosing thousands of customers across the world, including me. And not only for P8. Knowing that they are unfair and treat their customer as bunch of stupid morons that will buy any new toy, not even needed just for spechs - sorry ZOOM, but you lost me not just for this product, but for all of the rest too. Tascam is more reliable company now.
Appreciate this video. It has informed me very well. I just have one question. What would be the best SD card to get for the Zoom podtrak p8? You input would be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance.
The P8 looks amazing, but for my workflow I'm going to stick with the LiveTrak L-8. They are very similar, but as a musician the L-8 makes more sense for me.
Very nice. Will the mix minus include the sounds from the pads and simultaneously record the sounds on a separate track? Cause that would solve all my podcast related problems and make me buy that thing today.
Hi, could you please tell us something about the ASIO driver to use when using it with Cubase. And if every channel can be recorded separately? It would be great to have an official Zoom video of how to integrate the PodTaak P8 to a DAW like Cubase or others. Thanks a lot
@@dantezero5404 I am thinking about getting one, which one would you get if you had to choose again? Both have some awesome options. I was going to go with the Zoom, but thinking twice about the Rode.. hum..
@@GrillWarrior It’s up to u. But for me if between RCP and P8, RCP is the clear winner unless you need the extra XLR input. Furthermore P8 was priced about the same in my country and you have to buy BT adapter separately for the P8. Their features maybe more or less the same, but RCP has superior built in preamps. RCP - Made in Australia, recording sample rate up to 48khz / 24-bits, 2 years warranty. P8 - Made in China, 44.1khz / 16-bits, 1 year warranty. But both are great products. U can’t go wrong with either one. But both may be overkill for your usage. Maybe u can consider Podtrak P4, and get a decent mic or save more with buying normal audio interface / mixer if you know how to do mix minus and don’t need all the bells and whistles in RCP / Podtrak. Most audio interface can go up to 192khz / 24-bits sample rate. U can use VST plugins or dbx 286s to improve your audio. The advantages of RCP and Podtrak are they are all in one and easy to use / setup, good for average users.
Podtrak p8 doesn’t work with Facebook Live. You can’t use it in interface mode with your iPhone connected to usb-c. Manual says it’s possible but it doesn’t work with Facebook live.
Wow! This is going to such a great upgrade to our podcast, ThisThenThat!
I love that 9 sound pad buttons. P8 looks very attractive 1 person Broadcast system.
Great video do the p8 have noise gate

I use a mixpre3 for 32 bit float. That's the only thing keeping me from stuff like this. Well, that and size.

Whoa. This and the smaller recorder you just put out are amazing! I have an H6 but I might need to make a purchase.
I mean.. Holy crap this is good.
what's wrong with the H6? I've used it for podcasting and voice overs, and it works just fine
@@kaydawgy1999 that's awesome! What kind of work do you do? This option just seemed like it streamlined workflow.

Can this device take a line input?
Hey can I connect a mixer to this zoom unit on my pc so they work together ?
The instruction manual only mentions 48 db of gain. How do you raise that to 70?
Can you use to record on video mode?
Do you need software to make this mixer work?
Trying to figure out what is going on in the cover image for the video… is that a quadruple microphone boom??
Plugging to laptop , DAW can recognise all individual channels or just stereo output?
Its a problem syncronize audio and video in a podcast?
Thank you very much for more understood about The Zoom.

only a pity that it is only 16 bit which prevents me from buying it and prefers the Rodecaster Pro II
Why not yet in India??
Doe anyone know if this can be used as a mixer to live stream to youtube? Or would you need a separate audio interface?
Do you know the name of the first products of Zoom in the year 1983?
now the rodecaster has a real competitor...
6 XLR inputs? Multibank SFX? I don't think PodTrak has any competition.
44/16 only... still lacking compared to Rodecaster pro..

Damn! So close! You almost had me. But 2 in two out is not enough. Should be for all tracks
Now I understood why zoom does not talk about how to set up a USB mix minus with a livetrak l-8 or l-12 ;)... which is possible!
Love the p8. But I can’t wait until the gap is closed with a p6!
Can this double as a multi instrument recorder?
Hei can i livestream using an Android mobile device???
Can you use zoom podtrak podcast for live broadcasting on radio live for music on Air
Yes
Is L-8 still a worth option after the release of this?
The only thing your website doesn't tell me is how to give you money in exchange for one of these. I need this thing.
Can this device be use for broadcasting as well?
Yes! The P8 would be able to be used as an audio interface with third party streaming and teleconferencing software.
Podtrak p8 doesn’t work with Facebook Live. You can’t use it in interface mode with your iPhone connected to usb-c. Manual says it’s possible but it doesn’t work with Facebook live.
Is this a good competitor to GOXLR for live streaming and game stuff?
It would have been nice to have built in vocal effects processor too.
Yes a V3 integrated and this is sick
I JUST bought the Zoom Livetrac L8... If I knew this was coming out, I would have waited.... 😤😂
I just bought the rode caster imagine how I feel!
Thank you
Wo gibt es zu kaufen?
what mic is that?
@@DimplePoji interesting ... the headphones in that pack are definitely made by Superlux (HD-661), i wonder if the mic is a Superlux rebadge as well
It would be interesting if you add a Spanish translation, I am interested in this product.
Woah!!!!
44.1kHz/16 bit - in 2021 makes it a non starter from the get go.
How to do you sync the audio or connect the audio to camera?
