Emissary Highlands Ok I'm editing this as I go so that I don't have to leave a ton of comments. 1. The UI for the conquest update is bad because it was made for testing purposes, and a better UI will replace it similar to what you suggested 2. Specifically; the new area I created is called the Emissary Highlands, the castle town / eyes base is called Agavista's Hold, and the native village is (well ok that one's unnamed right now so I'm gonna make it up on the spot) Istrige Village. 3. Thanks for reminding me to fix the lighthouse ladder 4. All towns are definitely getting a rework for the reasons you stated. The towns needed a bit more character than was originally put in due to the utilitarian usage they had in base tales. It was just a place to spawn, go to a bank or post office, maybe buy some stuff, and then leave immediately. Now with NPCs, future quests, new content like PvE, etc. things are going to need to change for a place you will be returning to many times. The charm was there but I felt like I had to draw it out more. 5. I'm begging billy to change the lighting at night 6. Trees are placed with nodes that randomly generate trees. I do think Vaya trees need to be replaced due to the navigation issues. 7. We wanted to integrate the old tales stuff outside the map and kind of fit it into the developers original intentions as best we could, so thats why the new well is there 8. Highlands notes; it was a difficult thing for me to try and adapt the idea of a rolling hills and open area to something that had substance. Tales normally has big cliffs that either block views or elevate other areas to where you can't see them at first, so everything placed in the highlands is like, kinda there because it was hard to put elsewhere. I think I might have to bite the bullet and do a full land elevation thing to make it work but we'll see 9. Cant say much on Neil's Grasp because Andrew made it Final thoughts: I'm gonna be taking a LOT of this into consideration for both refurbishing past builds and continuing in the future. I've found that I'm much better at smaller scales like with focusing hard on just the town. I'm glad you mentioned the storytelling part of it because that was what I was trying to really get down with it. I always appreciate the input from others, especially as constructive as you made it out to be. Keep it up and thanks for being my favorite community member
feeling good about this remake now. the map looks identical to the stylization of tales and looks well put together. this video is also well put together. 👍
10:31 yea tree spawns are random in a way 12:20 you cant find this area in the real game only in the old studio copies 19:01 stop asking for the night to be less dark assassinations in the night are one of the most fun things in the game just learn the map and if it flows so badly at night u cant get anywhere its badly designed 19:43 i dont think this is something theyve actually scripted, you just dont take damage under cover in blizzards which is from the original game 21:23 its not a struggle. helping noobs isnt something that should b prioritized over changing gameplay mechanics via weather and time
