I have no idea how this channel hasn't blown up yet. This channel has the absolute best Nascar content available anywhere. Slapshoes is great also, but this guy bleeds Nascar
The craziest part is Brock is truly the OG NASCAR TH-camr, I've been following him since at least 2008. He's a true professional and master of his craft. I've said it before and I'll say it again, he deserves an opportunity with a big time NASCAR media player like Fox or NBC
Sometimes it's not about view count and all that jazz. It's about soul and heart. Gimme Sir Brock anyday over another. He's a got a solid viewer base who appreciates his efforts and that's all you can ask for really. I won't be shocked if in the coming years he gets picked up by Nascar. I don't want him to become just another pandering for views TH-camr. I want him to remain and retain his integrity.
To those that say Brock should be with Fox or NBC, I disagree. Brock is far better than networks deserve. What he needs is the equivalent compensation to that job, but remaining independent and free from the constraints and agendas that would come with a network job. Keep doing what you’re doing Brock. 👊
I'm now hoping for the rest of the series throughout 2024. Why NASCAR won't do this themselves baffles me, you have incredible abilities to write, narrate and storyboard the series. I just hope with NASCAR's recent crackown they leave you well enough alone
Another banger episode. Thank you, and have a Merry Christmas! Any of you who believe that NASCAR has "always been the safety leader in motorsports" need to wake up. That Mike Mulhern article at 10:28 is quite damning. Along with what is outlined in that article, other sanctioning bodies (like the FIA, IndyCar [under USAC, CART, and then IRL & Champ Car], and the NHRA) had travelling safety teams for DECADES before NASCAR finally saw the merits of having the same medics at every race in 2017. CART made Robby Gordon sit out the 1995 Marlboro 500 at Michigan after experiencing a concussion in practice. CART's policy was that a concussed driver was not allowed to drive for 7 days. The HANS device was adopted, but not yet mandated, by the NHRA in 1996. Several drivers in road racing, including CART, were wearing them before Brett Bodine started using one in 2000. The HANS was required by CART for all oval races in 2001, before mandating it for all races in 2002. F1 and the IRL did likewise. CART had mandated helmets for pit crewmen over 2 years before Bobby Burrell and two of his mates were hospitalized at Homestead in 2001. And A.J. Foyt may have been one of the last drivers in IndyCar who ever experienced racing back to the caution flag, if it ever was a thing. That has been absent for probably 60 years or more; long before NASCAR did away with it. I guarantee you that anyone who buys into the "always been the safety leader" narrative doesn't know much about racing outside of the NASCAR bubble.
The in depth research, work, and effort put into this docuseries is nothing short of amazing. I always anticipate and appreciate when the next chapter emerges. It takes me back to reliving those days again. I was on Jayski's site daily following along with everything, and 20+ years later i have forgotten a lot of it. Thank you for the hard work and efforts bringing this to us, it is appreciated.
On the subject, thank YOU for the work you put in preserving all of those old races on TH-cam. It's always been an easy way for me to find a few hours of entertainment in an uneventful afternoon.
The amount of work researching, story boarding, finding clips, narrating, editing and production is second to none!!! Kudos Brock!!!! Thank you and Merry Christmas!
Excited to see the rest of the 2001 NASCAR season on your channel, as someone who was only a few months to one year old that year. From what I have gathered over 13 years of being a NASCAR fan it was one of many highs but also lowest of lows.
Oh the timing of this couldn't have been any better after my worst day yesterday, thank you Brock for this amazing video and series keep up tbe amazing content and have a wonderful Christmas
I’m so excited this is back I can’t wait till we end up getting to Dover in September to see how amazing Brock is at narrating that race and time in history
I remember thinking back in the early 00s when I had just turned 20. I wonder what I’ll think of this era 25 years from now. These races really hold up today, they are just as nostalgic as the 80s and 90s. I really like that you’re highlighting these early 2000 races in great detail. Great work as usual.
Absolutely love this series and channel. I love the field filler series and this 2001 series. I wasn’t old enough to truly experience the tragedy and triumph of 01, this series truly lets me experience it as if it was just happening and I always love watching these videos when they come out. All your videos are true masterpieces Brock Beard and I appreciate the extensive time and effort you put in all your videos!
I love that you've included some of these truck recaps as well in this series. Nathan Hasleu's son is one of my close friends, and it's been cool to hear some of the stories from this era of racing when I was very young. Thanks for all you do, BB!
This series is so good for newer fans that weren't around back then. It was a different time with so much change and so much tragedy to process at one time.
These videos continue to prove just how incredible of a storyteller that you are Brock. We all love that you're continuing to bring this incredible content.
It took me a few days, but I made it through another great episode of BrockTube! I appreciate you going back to add in the Truck series storylines, that oughta be good when we get to the question of whether a 16 year old can be allowed to drive haha
Great work on the 500 Days Series. Can't wait to see how the rest of the 2001 season played out. And Happy Holidays to you and everyone else in the comment section.
Outstanding work as usual Brock! You are one of a few gatekeepers that preserve the history of the sport. I hope you are proud of your work so far, cuz I know a lot of us out here for sure are.🏁🏁🏁
Love ya man. You do good work and to ne your voice has become iconic snd tied to the sport. Your passion admittedly out does mine for today's product but nonetheless youre the guy to go to. I wish i could feel the way about modern nascar the way i did and do about this era. As a kid from another country far away from Nascar town in 90s the 2001 season still gives me chills. Miss the guys, miss the cars, miss the style of racing, and miss the culture. This was an important year in Americana. Bless and cheers big guy
Another beautiful masterpiece, Brock! From the bottom of my heart, thank you for putting this docu-series together. When I watched the original 5 episodes, I found myself wanting it to go through the whole season, and I’m SO glad that you decided to do just that. AWESOME JOB!!!
Thanks for doing these videos. There so much nascar history here. I enjoy cope book was excellent. Hopefully that book earn some awards it was well written
God i loved those Gen 4 cars. Cant beat the sound nor the look Also fantastic research btw. Loved hearing about which chassis were being used. Idk how you got that info but well done good sir
I’m now all caught up on this AMAZING Documentary BB! Can’t wait to see the rest of the 2001 season’s story especially as it was my 1st year watching NASCAR. When does the Bristol Episode come out?
@@LASTCARonBROCK I’ll be keeping an eye out + because of you, KamikazeGames and so on, it’s inspired me to do my own set of Documentaries on my own Channel as well so I thank you, him and many others for that a ton
At this point in his career and given who he was driving for maybe. But Schrader had a stretch where he finished in the top 10 in points 6 times in 7 years and had 7 top 10 points finishes overall with a career high of 4th in 1994.
Great video as always Brock. I’m only 20 minutes into this video, but I heard an interview recently on The Scene Vault podcast from one of Dale’s crewmen that said Dale ran his belts loose, and that Dale often loosened his belts at the end of a race. He claimed that everyone knew this but no one wanted to say it. I’ll see if I can find the video.
30k fans on the waiting list for the spring Bristol race. Whereas the iterations of the race near the end of the 2010s had barely 30k in the arena period. I personally am glad they're going back to concrete instead of dirt though. I'll be putting my money where my mouth is and hopefully doing both Bristol weekends in 2024.
Correct! Rick Ware used to compete in the Truck Series back then, both as owner and driver. At the time, I believe the team name was "Ware Racing Enterprises."

Looks like Christmas came early for us folks.
Honey wake up, Brock Beard dropped another part to 500 days!
I remember having this race taped on a VHS back in the day
11:40 Most terrifying photo of Jeff Green *EVER* 😆 Looks like he found the slopes and went skiing before this one. 😂

This is the Ken Burns Baseball of NASCAR
Excellent work as always Brock, this series is must see tv

I loved seeing the section on what was going on in the truck series during this time. Great documentary.

Thanks Brock shits amazing
Those 2001 Busch cars still sound so much better, like a real stock car. Cup Cars nowadays sound puny.
They knew how to capture the auction and speed so much better back then

1:01:38 did I hear that correctly? He said "Rick Ware Racing", correct?
Correct! Rick Ware used to compete in the Truck Series back then, both as owner and driver. At the time, I believe the team name was "Ware Racing Enterprises."
Steve Park was a damn good driver
Little did we know how much Park's career would change when they returned to Darlington.
To Andy Petree for the reduced horsepower idea, what a prick.
Makes me glad Sheldon Creed is with JGR this upcoming Busch/Nationwide/Xfinity Season.
Interesting a team owned by Valvoline was good with those Quaker State logos pitting their cae
Ugh now to wait another 6 months for the part to come out....
Hopefully not nearly that long - ended up with a few different projects that pushed this one back.
What's going on with TH-cam??? I am subscribed to this channel and get no notifications.
Steve park was lowkey good
I feel for the Earnhardt family, but this was a bad decision that violated freedom of press.
Thressa Earnhardt isn’t my favorite person
Jason Jacoby just made a video about you.
I wish Park should have been became the first repeat winner of 2001.
star crossed at Darlington Steve Park 2001
