Discovering your mixes this morning only and this song being one of my all time favourites (along with “The Sensual World”), my expectations were pretty high… Now I find it hard to choose the right words: brilliant, magical, powerfull… As someone else wrote already, you made a masterpiece out of an already existing masterpiece… 👏👏👏
Another great remix. I know you have probably been asked this, has Kate heard any or all of your mixes? I met her in 1985 in Toronto at an EMI Records Canada party they had for her. She was given an award for record sales of Hounds Of Love in Canada. She also came here, by boat no less, to promote the album across Canada by apprearing at Muchmusic (Canada's MTV at the time). This gave her great exposure. I talked with Kate and some others and she described how she and her boyfriend Del Palmer built the studio to make this record. She told me The Dreaming cost a fortune to produce. That Fairlight synth cost over $100K at the time. it was used on Never Forever actually, then Hounds Of Love. By the time she produced A Sensual World I think she was onto the Synclaviar (invented like 50 miles from where I live in Mississauga Ontario Canada). BTW, Kate aside from being a great multi instrumentalist, composer, singer is also a recording engineer, producer and has total control of everything you hear. She owns her own masters as you prob know.
One of the last songs to feature Alan Murphy playing guitar before his death on October 19th, 1989 from pneumonia complicated by HIV. He knew he was dying when he joined Level 42, but bravely carried on working until the end. He was a month short of his 36th birthday.
KATE Dans tous c est albums on voyage évasion total dans son univers imagination plane depuis plus 50ans fan incontestable aurais aimer voir en live un jour peu etre!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OMG! One of her most be❤d songs ever and yet you managed to treat it with outmost respect. I am very thrilled. Some details were a bit too much, but that is my personal opinion (like the highlighted guitar at 2.27 and 3.01). At many points it outshone the original. I loved the intermezzo at 3.30. And the phenomenal new ending. I always thought the original ending did not fit the song. Please continue your work!
Wow, thank you so much! It's a song dear to my heart, so I'm glad to be reassured that I didn't butcher it. I understand your point about the details. The electric guitar was a bit of a dilemma: at first, I wanted to filter it out, but that didn't really work. It sounded muffled and muddy and was not in keeping with the clarity of the other instruments. So I felt it had to be like this. Sometimes the mix dictates itself a little, I find. Your sincere and critical feedback is very much appreciated though!
@seventyfive4169 I did not tell you how I loved the quiet intro with the first verse being delayed. It shows she beautiful structure of her production so well. About the guitar: I think how it originally was mixed, it carried the swell of the waves together with Nigel's violin by Nigel so perfectly. To me it is one of the strongest moments in the song. I felt I needed to explain this.
@@j.k.1963 Ah yes, thanks for the explanation. I think I see what you mean. I didn't get that completely right, I guess. There are always things I'm not completely satisfied with myself. I make lots of different versions and keep tinkering with them until I feel it's time to stop. But then of course there's always something else... Oh well. Great to hear your points of view!

Thank you so much! I am very glad this mix did not disappoint and it's incredibly kind of you to let me know.

Oui, c'est toujours possible! Rêvons un peu...
during my divorce this album tore me down, brutally disassembling my ego. Then it saved me too. I will always love you Kate Bush🥰
I must admit I do return to Kate in times of trouble,,,,
Yeah it's hard to casually listen to for me, so emotionally moving
You never disappoint!
Cheers, Darrell!

@@j.k.1963I agree about the guitars. You/they are amazing.
Hats off! It's simply amazing.
Thank you very much!
And omfg another masterpiece ❤plus your artwork looks like something from the original single❤
Very cool
Thank you!
🙏🥳♥️
Hearing the strings so clearly is a gift and reducing the terrible drum-track!
Thank you!
Dreamy
Btw Boulanger Trio does a version of RUTH that you definitely need to use in a remix, mr. Man❤
Is that David Gilmors' VOICE
. . . _ 🤍
I love how her dark side shows here. The production is raw, not polished. Supa....
