What a beautiful presentation 🙏🙏 No words to express 🙏🙏. Sri Vijay Siva should have been awarded with Sangeetha Kalanidhi. It's such a shame that these deserving artists are totally ignored.

Mention can be made of Papanasam Sivan ‘s great contribution to his time honored compositions for the classic songs in Tamil cinema of 1930’s - 1940’s immortalized by MKT such as SoppanaVazhvil, Deena Karuna Karane Neelakantane, Sattva Guna Podhan , Siva Perumaan Kripai vendum etc etc to mention only a few . By present day standards , for such great Tamil film hits he claimed only a petty payment !

Vid. Vijay Siva brings a trio of merits to this presentation - confidence in his knowledge of the subject +ability to sing and illustrate the points he makes +a creative approach to presentation that holds our attention. Godspeed to VS! (PS: the audio fades out at the end of each phrase... Pls. see if you can fix the intelligibility of the speech even at low volume replay in future episodes)

Loved not only Vijay’s clear and scholarly presentation but also the background and the ambience embellished by the chirping sounds of birds. Bravo!! 👏👏❤️❤️. Thank you for sharing with us. 🙏🙏💞💞

I laud the effort. However, given the immense talent, I wish the producers had given more thought to having an aesthetic focus. One of the curses of carnatic music is that anyone who speaks about this art form tends to adopt a lecture mode, serious face and present dry information from a cerebral perspective, and lose the forest for some fallen twigs. Sadly, feelings get lost. Even when there is talk about feelings, it feels so academic. I am sorry that this is a lament. I can bet that Sri Vijay Siva is FAR FAR more interesting than the producers have made him out to be. If all one wants is a catalog of Sri Sivan's compositions, one can go to Sangeethapriya, and write a script that will take the first few seconds of each song by him, and render it on a loop. We don't need people like Sri Vijay Siva's standing to do a mimicry. Have some mercy, folks. What a travesty it is to travel from one pallavi to another with no rhyme or reason. These songs have life, jeevan. Kaa vaa vaa is not only about swaraksharam; that is such a pathetically trivial pseudo technical part of that grand composition. You can spend an hour presenting the sahitya strength and how it blends with the raaga to evoke the feelings. At the end of it, a song is a transport vehicle from the mundane to the profound, not an exercise in technicality. I am so disheartened that the folks who were involved in this spent so much effort and talent and came up with something so pedestrian. It is like wanting to describe an elephant and ending up saying it has eyelashes. Totally missing the point.
