I wish Rob had stuck around long enough to get his recognition as one of the greatest frontmen of the era.
of the world!!
His lone solo album "Bloodbrothers" (1990) has been out-of-print for so long it deserves a reissue... on vinyl!
Very cool. I met Rob Tyner in 1988 at a '68 Convention symposium in Chicago (He was preceded by Abbie Hoffman who, went at least an hour overtime , cutting Rob's down to ten minutes ! ) . He was a standup guy , no bullshit about him. He told me he'd planned to return to the stage after a long hiatus. I could tell he was more than ready.
You can tell Rob was real !
R.I.P. you were a legend, kick out the Jams
ROB TYNER GREATEST FRONTMAN! (1944-1991)
Ronnie tell them how I feel
Rocking right on yeah
A year later, he was gone……
He don't need no hair . He got heart .
he had the worst MTV hair metal band
I can picture him leaving home, dressed as such. I can also picture his child's query "Daddy, why are you dressed like that- is it Halloween?"
MC5 was like a better version of kiss
