Unfinity needs to become a regular thing. This theme park is dope and I would love to see the utter bafflement of one of the recurring MtG characters winding up here.

Unifinity (the newest unset) has some cards that are legal in eternal formats, personally i really like it because it lets WOTC explore more abstract cards without breaking the confines of whatever world the set is in
A few sets have dropped actually. Every few months they do a new one if you weren’t sure.

Was very confused by them and have only avoided them until now, but they actually seem pretty manageable and could be a nice extra boost to a deck, definitely trying them out. Thanks!
Now there is no excuse not to have a wishboard
It feels like it can be very powerful, if there is no limit in visiting an attraction, why not always have attractions if at least one card allows you to open it. Kinda like how having a partner in your deck except there is no real restriction
There is a limit. You have to play a card that opens an attraction, which is probably some shit draft card.
You can only do it of a card allows you to. That's a card dedicated to creating a random artifact than a card with a reliable outcome. The restriction is card count, and that Commander cards that can open attractions aren't super good outside of doing that.
Personally I like em. And being allowed in a casual format such as commander I feel like is a nice home for them. And if you don’t want to play against sticker/attraction decks, that’s why rule 0 exist

I absolutely *love* that now I need to always bring a sticker side deck and an attraction side deck with me. Thank you MaRo for you continued crusade against commander all because your original silver bordered cards got banned.
Don't you only need to bring these decks if you have cards in your deck that require them? Just don't run those cards

@@BurnByMoonlight iirc there's gonna be a sticker app. And yes if you plan on playing a deck that revolves around playing other people's decks then you best intend on bringing your dungeons. City blessing token. Counters and legal dice. Oh.. looks like needing a deck of 10 attractions isn't that much more than what you already need.
@@starshot9418 city blessing is easy enough to remember if you’ve had it or not and no one uses the token for it. Dice are used already anyway. If someone brought a dungeons deck, then they should have the dungeons with them, not me. Same with the monarchy token. Stop making excuses for shitty game/mechanic design.
@@BurnByMoonlight not necessarily. Not every deck needs dice. I've played against people with a dungeon deck that only used 1 of the 4 dungeons so if you wanted to "properly play your deck" you'd need to bring your own shit regardless. Or like the other dude said. Unless you're making a dedicated deck on attractions. Stealing one or two cards that benefit don't really matter
I love how no one is talking about how they effectively reinvented the Extra Deck from Yu-Gi-Oh!
They will be great to pair with the many cards that say “when you roll a die” it can really speed up!

I wish this was the only thing they added in unfinity
Don't forget: tapping them should be possible and will result in zero downsides given that they activate once per turn usually.

That’s actually pretty good for casual games but I would hate those in competative.
Side note I’m playing magic once half a year and own just one deck and two from a starter so I don’t know anything about magic. I just heard today about this and stickers etc. I think such cards for private casual is great but only if you have the option not to do it. If it’s competative then you have to. It’s pretty much identical to when Link yugioh monster came out and you needed to use them in your mega deck. Hate such forced stuff

But tbqh acorns should have remained silver border and stickers made silver border. How did the fact they can damage cards make it through R&D?
Kinda bad actually. My deckbox hardly fit my deck, commander and tokens. Adding an additional 10 would suck not to mention the hassle of shuffling an additional deck including stickers if I’m being on theme AND forcing my opponents to do the same since theft cards like bribery and reanimate exist.
Are you building an attraction deck? No? Then who cares.

@@ihaveproblems9779 well I hope you're right that I'm just over reacting and that I won't encounter the need to get me 2 additional sub decks. Ascend, Monarch, Experience, Initiative, Night day, Poison are one thing but in combination with one another feels like playing stacks but the very least came in terms with them.
How will they be commander legal?
Because a lot of unfinity will be commander legal. Anything without the acorn symbol I think.

This seems like a fun new play on plane chase. That's one of my groups favorite ways to play so this could be lots of fun!
I love attractions on a flavor level, but mechanically I think they’re less playable than contraptions only because of the inconsistency in die-rolling. The ones that only have two numbers lit up kinda suck, there’s a very real chance you could have a game where you get one of those out and never get to use it
I mean if there is 2 numbers lit up have a 1/3 chance to trigger, so statistically you can expect to hit it every 3rd turn. This feels comparable to waiting every 3 turns to crank to the same sprocket. Plus you can use things like barbarian class and pixie guide to up your odds, and you get to roll dice to trigger things that care about that. I'm excited to try to use them
@@dylaniverson2491 I think knowing with relative certainty that something will happen, even if that thing only happens once every three turns, is better than banking your shots on a roll of the dice. Also, barbarian class doesn’t help you as much as it seems. It only has you reroll and take the highest number, which, if you needed to hit a 2 or a 6, does not always help you.
If {Wish} isn't legal, neither should attractions

It isn't that complicated. You play a card that opens an attraction, so you play an attraction. Every M1 you roll a D6 to try to trigger it. Simple as. If that's too complicated for you, Pokemon might be more your speed. Lol

The mechanic falls under the usual category of "interesting but undersupported".
How come this doesn’t work for plane chase or archenemy? Dumb rules but attractions are cool
I'm making a Grixis "Dice roll tribal" deck with a lot of the Unfinity cards (helps that all the 2 color Attractions matter legends are Commander legal). I think Attractions will be fun and novel, maybe we get a few more here and there much later down the line. I am still wondering if somehow, someone busts an Unfinity mechanic in Legacy.

Honestly I hate how they’re trying to make an UN set legal for other formats. Like Commander is so casual who cares if you use silver borders
I don't mind them exploring creative spaces, but aren't sideboards and cards outside the game not allowed in commander? It's getting weirder and weirder that wish spells don't work but companions and this nonsense does.

Don't like them. Don't agree with the Unfinity set being legal. They don't belong in the normal games, and if this was the only way WOTC could think of to get people actually interested in the cards, then their marketing and development teams need to be fired.
Wizards can release whatever they want, but nevertheless the Rules Committee has the final word

Dog shit mechanic. If this evolves, 100 card decks will end up being 135 card decks. With attractions, Distractions, companions, manmanions, partner, friends, fiends. All this dumb shit will ruin EDH.
