I recently just built a budget "Spell Voltron" deck with her where the idea is to cast a mix of low cmc instants with her ability or from cards in my hand that gives her evasion/protection and temporary boosts her power each turn to KO a player with commander damage in 1-2 turns. Cards like "Octavia, Living Thesis", "Kaya's Onslaught" and "Show of Confidence" can easily make Zethi hit the commander damage threshold when coupled with some spell to give her evasion like "You Come to a River". An alternative wincon will be with "Sage of Hours" if I can exile at least 5 low cmc spells with Zethi to recast every turn for infinite turns. I've had limited playtesting but it feels good so far. She was a fun challenge to make something unique.
I switched out my taigam deck for zethi and it has honestly been so much more fun. Also threw her in my Hinata frost deck as one of the hidden commands and she does so much work there.
She is the Azorius version of Jeleva. It would be cool to see different aggro spell slingers go at it in commander. Feather the Redeemed makes a good third. Who is the 4th? Maybe we build a Temur aggro spell slinger style with Magus Lycea Kane or Riku of Two reflections and voila!
The whole copy thing threw me. I thought you played the copies for free and also that if she left play and of the former ones were useless, but I see now I'm wrong on both accounts. I think this way is better. Not losing access ever is amazing. Having to pay for them is a bit of a pain, but lots of ways to abuse that. Throw a peregrine Drake (budget) and a great whale in there and use blink spells to get your mana back.
You staph trashtalking my SF2 main right now. That is a charge-character on charge-character crime right there! We are supposed to be united! How will be ever stand up against Shotos if we keep fighting between ourselves? D:
As a blanka/honda main I really want a blanka deck. That card looks like it could easily do a 21 hit commander KO with a little planning. I know what you mean, I love street fighter to death and wear chun li shirts like twice a week. But I love the cards just for display. Feels weird with the other cards.
@@bettercommander yeah the mechanics are a blast! Blanka is as gruul as gruul can be. Though some are big flavor wins, like michonne of walking dead and zombie tribal. Chun li was the first one I bought for my love of the character and the card design. Was glad to see this video pop

That's a good way to go about it, excellent win condition.

Balmor izzet, i died on like turn 4/5 a few times on mtg arena 🤣 but would go differently in commander
@@mibbzx1493 yeah, that would work. I also forgot about Nazal from Dominaria United. It would be passable, but the others are better.

I didn't go down the blink road because Zethi doesn't benefit from that, but it is a generically powerful way to go.
