Great review, I have owned my Timemaster for a year and love it! The mower truly saves time and sounds great doing it so much so, my neighbor stopped me asked about the quality of the cut and went and purchased one the following week! I have 3/4's of an acre clear with varying terrain and it does get it done!
I have 22 residential lawns and have been using this mower since I started my business. Gets them done quick and looks much better than a zero turn cut. Beast of a mower it will run through foot tall grass with the shooter on it
I have been looking at getting one of these for several months, and today was the day. I noticed in my research, that people either love them, or hate them. Your comments below bear this to witness also. I was told by a very wise person that it's like any piece of equipment, you mustn't abuse it, you have to maintain it, and remember it was intended for residential use at all times.
I do residential lawn care and I do 8-12 yards a day solo. Most the lawns I do are small but I’m hoping this mower saves me time. I’m going to buy one today
We need the 30", the mower we got for our new house takes forever to get the whole yard done. Thanks for the recommendation! Also, really like your back yard! Very pretty!
I’ve had one for 8 years, residential use only. Expect the blade & drive cables to snap at some point, sometimes yearly. Luckily, they’re under $20 each and you can do the repair yourself with basic tools. Keep some spares in your garage, I do. Belts & blades are easy to change as well. The Briggs motor finally wore out on mine, so I replaced it with a Kohler CV224 and it’s a beast now, totally different machine. Engine swap for $450 is still cheaper than the Toro HDX Turfmaster 22235 with the same Kohler engine, msrp…..$3000. Overall, the Timemaster is good mower with basic maintenance and some TLC.
They really don’t lie saying “guaranteed to start”, I bought a 2015 time master from a guy, he had it outside with lots of problems, I bought it for $40, yes, a time master for $40, I’ve been fixing it for the past month and it’s a blast, but when I first brought it home, I said, “let’s try to start it, it’s a e-start model so I had the key to a on position, pulled the rope and it started up right away, I was surprised, it sat for about 2 years from the previous owner
I brought one feom tractor supply somebody used it and brought it back because the blades stop working.i got it at a good price took it home put new belt and pulleys on it and walla she cuts like a champ.
I just bought one in March, it has been nothing but a pain in the ass, yes, when it's working it saves time and makes the yard look good, but it's already shredded one belt that engages the blades and I am constantly adjusting the cable that engages these blades. It has a piss pour design holding that cable in place, a little plate with one screw holding it in place. When it gets hot you have to wait before it restarts, my opinion, not worth the $1500 I spent on it
I also see a ton of these break and being sold with the self propel broken/not working within a very short time of owning them. Way too expensive to worry about that happening
I really like the video but it's NOT 10HP. It's 10 ft/lb of torque. That's what the label on the front of it with the big "10" is referring to. Cheers,
I bought one of these from Tractor Supply and right out of the box only the right wheel had drive. There was no drive on the left wheel. Is this normal? It makes it hard to push. I can't imagine using "2 fingers" to operate this thing. It is "Power-assist", at best.
It's a good mower however, after 2 years the only downside is that it sucks in damp grass and clogs up quite a bit. Leads to large grass chunks stored up under the deck. Even after sharpening the blades you'll find yourself making multiple rounds with it.
@@UnboxWarehouse .... I have my father's timemaster... its 7 years old... 190cc they went up to a 222- 223cc engine... the 190 is underpowered. Nothing else has changed to my knowledge. I currently an having a buddy go through it because it suddenly stopped maintaining rpm (probable governor issues) we'll see what the problem is. But, one issue they all have regardless of year and engine you have. They all have belt issues. These things EAT the blade drive belts. This isn't the large gear belt this is the smaller belt that the clutch engages to spin the left blade. The left.blade.drives the right with a gear belt. Great machine but definitely has issues and briggs isn't what it used to be . While it is 7 years old all maintenance has been kept up perfectly. There might be 100-200 hours on it over 7 years which is really nothing. I am a little disappointed to be honest. Other people have had premature cylinder scoring despite good routine maintenance/upkeep. For all I know I'll have to replace the engine.. again, we will see what comes of this tear down. Meanwhile my dad's 30 year lawn boy has had 1 carb replaced.... that's it.. if that doesn't tell you something idk what will
The Timemaster is a great mower. I don’t mow thick, wet grass,…so I haven’t had any of the issues with the deck packing with grass. I would check out the Timemaster vs Turfmaster video reviews before you make your purchase.
Why though. It has a guaranteed warranty. I had to bring mines in because the belt wasn’t on right, and it was causing my blades to actually hit. They replaced the whole mower that day.
I also see a ton of these for sale that aren't very old and that the self propel goes out all the time. Way too heavy and expensive to worry about that all the time with gear. I hear about these issues a lot with these mowers.
mate that is not a heavy lawn, I could cut that with scissors, a timemaster is wasted on this type of lawn, give us real grass to show what the time master is truly capable of
This thing cost $1600 and they tell me it’s $100 off until the end of the month that’s how much it costs. I also also know it goes up every year but come on.
@@vipireon864 Exmark, Scag, and Ferris are the first ones that come to mind. I think Cub Cadet may also have a 30" mower, and Troy-Bilt, IIRC, has a 28" unit.

Just got a well maintained used one for 600 so far i love it

These are really good mowers from all the commercial guys I talk to. I'm looking at getting one for my smaller yards with gates

I wanted one but my yard is only 1200 square foot so it was over kill. I ended up getting the new black Super recycler.

Time Master Toro is the best for residential properties
this channel is very underrated
The camera work alone...
Good review!! Just went out and bought one...going from a 22" Personal Pace Toro to this will speed up cutting my half acre.
I brought one today, it’s a ripper😊👍
we got weibang virtue 77 here in uk now . only just come out . 300cc . 98kg
Does it get stripes when the blades wear down? Just thinking
Is this 4 wheel drive?
I have one they’re nice unless you put them on the smallest hill then u have to muscle it
I really like the video but it's NOT 10HP. It's 10 ft/lb of torque. That's what the label on the front of it with the big "10" is referring to. Cheers,
Probably 6 - 7 hp max.

Mike...are you still happy with this? Looking to get a new mower this spring.
No worth it man, I used one for a year and it sucked ive had my Honda HXR217 for 6 years with the nexsite deck it’s the best mower
It's a good mower however, after 2 years the only downside is that it sucks in damp grass and clogs up quite a bit. Leads to large grass chunks stored up under the deck. Even after sharpening the blades you'll find yourself making multiple rounds with it.
I assume you can run without the bag?
Its not 4wheel drive only pull from the rear.still pulls really hard
How is the transmission hopefully it's better now than before
Just got one. Great cut and stripes. Too bad it doesn't have the muscle to get up some steeper inclines.
Damn. What push mower will?
Do you have to use the bag? Is that grey area on the side for using no bag?
Yes it has a side discharge or you can mulch.
I saw you on Gameplay Couch channel. Very inspired by your success. Maybe I can learn a few things over here 🙂
Really awesome review
Good video ! A lot of good information
Thanks !!!
We just bought one for our company.
Great review, I think I will get one in the future and great yard!
The blade belt system is faulty and will smoke until it shreds the belt. This happens about 3-5 hours of use. Time Waster is more appropriate.
This is why I have 2 of them
Toro is not the only brand that has a 30 inch walk behind. There are at least a half a dozen brands that make a 30 in walk behind
No it was there idea
How do you know what year your time master is? Does it say it on the box or something?
I think its the first year this model was available. Thats how I knew....lol

Replace the belt and get you some commercial pulleys

Around $2400 at Home Depot. And that's not including tax.

I only get to cut my 8000 sq ft front yard before it runs dry. Tried on my 16500 sq ft back and had to fill up half way through.
