I realize that some want to believe in the Trinity so badly that they will overlook all that goes against it even when the Trinity sometimes is very confusing they are willing to just go with the confusion opposed to believing which is clear. This verse is PROOF that Jesus and God are the same. (1) According to Ahmed Deedat John 16:7 and 16:13 is concrete proof of Muhammad - the advocate / the comforter / the spirit of truth. In these verses Jesus says - "Unless I go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you. " John 16:7 and "when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. " John 16:13 Is this the Holy Spirit or is it Muhammad? We could debate this another day, but for the sake of humouring Deedat, he BELIEVES and Muslims BELIEVE that John 16 prophesizes the coming of Muhammad through these EIGHT male pronouns and that he "will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears". (2) So where does Muhammad come from? Who sent him or chose him to be a messenger? Is he chosen by Allah? Is he sent by Allah? NO. In John 16:7, Jesus says "I will send him to you", so it is Jesus NOT Allah that sends Muhammad to the people. [Unless Jesus is God, which Deedat spent his lifetime denying] (3) And what is the message that the Spirit of Truth will reveal in the Quran and who does that come from? Is it a message from Allah via Gabriel to submit to Allah? NO. In John 16:14, Jesus continues, saying "He will glorify me because it is from me that he will receive what he will make known to you". So Muhammad will glorify Jesus because it is from Jesus that he will receive what he will make known. (4) Deedat often says where in the Bible does Jesus say "I am God. Worship Me." but if Deedat believes that in the book of John Jesus is foretelling the prophecy of Muhammad, then he MUST accept the rest of this revelation. Deedat himself confirms through these verses that "[Jesus] will send [Muhammad] to you" (john 16:7) , "[Muhammad] will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears." (John 16:13) and "[Muhammad] will glorify [Jesus] because it is from [Jesus] that he will receive what he will make known." (john 16:14) So why does the Quran talk about Allah if Jesus says in the bible that the Spirit of truth will glorify me [Jesus]? Could it be that Jesus and Allah are the same "being"? If Jesus and God are one then this passage from the gospel of John might make sense, but if Jesus is NOT God (one of the claims of Deedat), then these Bible verses can't be about Muhammad - Muhammad either is the Spirit of Truth sent by Jesus to deliver a message to glorify Jesus or he isn't. If Muhammad is the Spirit of Truth (as Deedat believes he is) then Jesus is God and the whole of the Quran is Jesus saying "I am Allah. The Paraclete: Excerpt from "The Bible, the Quran and Science" by Maurice Bucaille The text of John's Gospel and only he explicitly refers to it under the Greek name of Parakletos, now Paraclet in French. Here, according to the Ecumenical Translation of the Bible, New Testament, are the essential passages: "If you love, you will strive to keep my commandments; I will pray to the Father: he will give you another Paraclete" (14:15-16). What does Paraclete mean? The text we currently have of John's Gospel explains its meaning in these terms: "The Paraclete, the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send in my name, will communicate all things to you, and will make you remember all that I have told you" (14:26). Does he agree with John's text? The question must be asked because, a priori, it seems curious that we can attribute to the Holy Spirit the last paragraph mentioned above: "He will not speak on his own initiative, but he will say what he will hear and he will communicate to you everything that must come". It seems inconceivable that the Holy Spirit could be given the power to speak and say what he hears. To my knowledge, this question, which logic requires to be raised, is generally not the subject of comment. To have an exact idea of the problem, it is necessary to refer to the basic Greek text, which is all the more important since we recognize that the evangelist John wrote in Greek and not in another language. The Greek text consulted was that of Novum Testamentum graece. Any serious textual criticism begins with the search for variants. It appears here that, in all the known manuscripts of the Gospel of John, there is no other variant likely to alter the meaning of the sentence than that of passage 14:26 of the famous Syriac language version called Palimpsest. Here, we do not mention the Holy Spirit, but the Spirit at all. Did the scribe make a simple omission, or, placed in front of a text to be copied that claimed to make the Holy Spirit hear and speak, did he not dare to write what seemed to him to be an absurdity? Apart from this remark, there is no need to insist on other variants, except for the grammatical variants which do not change anything in the general sense. The essential point is that what is stated here on the precise meaning of the verbs "to hear" and "to speak" is true for all the manuscripts of John's Gospel and it is the case. The verb "hear" in the English translation is the Greek verb akouô, which means to perceive sounds. He gave, for example, in French the word acoustics, in English acoustics, which is the science of sound. The verb "speak" in the English translation is the Greek verb laleô, which has the general meaning of making sounds and the particular meaning of speaking. This verb is often used in the Greek text of the Gospels to designate a solemn declaration of Jesus during his preaching. It therefore appears that the communication to men mentioned here does not consist in any way in an inspiration that would be the asset of the Holy Spirit, but it has an obvious material character because of the notion of the emission of its attachment to the Greek word that defines it. The two Greek verbs akouô and laleô therefore define concrete actions that can only concern a being endowed with a hearing organ and a speech organ. It is therefore not possible to apply them to the Holy Spirit. Thus, as it is delivered to us by the Greek manuscripts, the text of this passage of John's Gospel is perfectly incomprehensible if it is accepted in its entirety with the words Holy Spirit in the sentence (14:26): "The Paraclete, the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send in my name" etc., the only sentence which, in John's Gospel, establishes the identity between Paraclete and Holy Spirit. But if we remove the words "Holy Spirit" from this sentence, the whole text of John has an extremely clear meaning. It is also concretized by another text of the evangelist, that of the 1st epistle where John uses the same word Paraclete to simply designate Jesus as intercessor with God (many translations and comments, especially ancient ones, from the Gospels translate the word as "consoler", which is a complete error). And when Jesus says, according to John (14:16): "I will pray to the Father: he will give you another Paraclete", he means that he will be sent to men an "other" intercessor, as he himself was, to God in their favor during his earthly life. We are then led logically to see in John's Paraclete a human being like Jesus, endowed with the faculty of hearing and speech, faculties that John's Greek text formally implies. Jesus therefore announces that God will later send a human being to this earth to have the role defined by John, which is, in a word, that of a prophet hearing the voice of God and repeating his message to men. This is the logical interpretation of John's text if we give words their real meaning. The presence of the words Holy Spirit in the text we have today could well be a voluntary later addition, intended to modify the primitive meaning of a passage which, by announcing the coming of a prophet after Jesus, was in contradiction with the teaching of the emerging Christian churches that Jesus was the last of the prophets.

You gotta love this guy. His power of debate is based on (1) ridiculous arguments and manipulation of the Bible, and debating people who (1) are not good at debating and (2) know very little about Islam. Let's look at the bits he quotes: "Beloved, believe not every spirit, but test the spirits whether they are of God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world." (1 John 4:1-2) He then talks about false message false prophet, etc. but what does the Bible actually say which he doesn't quote or show? "Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh, is of God. And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh, is not of God; and such is the spirit of Antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come, and even now already it is in the world." (1 John 4:2-3) Again, there's a bit of wriggle room, because although most Christians would understand this passage to say that "Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God" means that "Jesus Christ is God" whereas Deedat would probably argue that God is the creator of all things and is just saying that Jesus Christ is flesh not God. He is not the Son of God, but A child of the father. Let's see if the next quotes makes it any clearer if Jesus is a son or the Son? So Deedat chose to ignore 1 John 4:2-3, but jumps to 1 John 5 verse 1: "Whoever believes that Jesus is the Messiah is a child of God; and whoever loves a father loves his child also." to prove that because Muslims believe in Jesus the Messiah who is A child of God they must be the ones with the true message. Muhammad is a true spirit. But then Deedat decides NOT to quote any more... He doesn't quote verse 5: "Who can defeat the world? Only the person who believes that Jesus is the Son of God." He doesn't quote verse 10 - 13 "So those who believe in the Son of God have this testimony in their own heart; but those who do not believe God, have made a liar of him, because they have not believed what God has said about his Son. The testimony is this: God has given us eternal life, and this life has its source in his Son. Whoever has the Son has this life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life. I am writing this to you so that you may know that you have eternal life-you that believe in the Son of God." Why doesn't he quote those verses that clarify that Jesus is the Son of God (not A son, THE SON, Son with a capital S) and that those who do not believe God have made a liar of him because they don't believe what God has said about his Son (Whose son? God's Son) So when it comes to Muslims, they are more or less the same as many non-believers who believe Jesus was probably a wise man, but as there is no God, he cannot be the Son of God. Which is worse? Not believing in God, but recognizing the peaceful message of Jesus. Or being a Muslim that says they believe in God, but then calls God a liar, by denying that Jesus is his Son. Personally, I think if you believe in God but are calling God a liar then you fulfil the second part of 1 John 4:3. Muhammad is a spirit that recognizes Jesus Christ, but denies that he is the Son of God and "such is the spirit of Antichrist". And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh, is not of God; and such is the spirit of Antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come, and even now already it is in the world." (1 John 4:2-3). Understand it is not me calling Muhammad the Antichrist here, but our friend Ahmed Deedat who chooses to use these verses to prove that Muhammad is the spirit. Unfortunately according to the passage, Muhammad fails the test. It's not enough just to recognize Jesus Christ as a person or a messenger, anyone can do that. But this chapter makes clear that denying that Jesus is the Son of God and that Jesus is God in the flesh makes you a false prophet, a spirit of the Antichrist - a prophet of the Antichrist if you will. Jesus is God according to the Qur'an
1) Qur'an states only Allah can speak in parables (Surah 24:35; Surah 14:25). Jesus speaks in parables in the Bible that no other prophet ever told (Matthew 13:34, 35; Psalms 78:2; Isaiah 6:9, 10).
2) Qur'an says that only Allah will return on the clouds on the Last Day (Surah 2:210). The Bible says that Jesus will return on the clouds quite often (Revelation 1:7; Mark 13:26; Acts 1:9-11; Daniel 7:13).
3) Qur'an says that only Allah will judge mankind (Surah 6:57; Surah 7:87). El-Bokhary explained that he heard from Ibn Abbas, who had heard the Prophet Mohammed saying about Christ, "The Last Day will not come until the son of Mary comes back as a fair Judge to administer justice and wipe out injustice." The Bible also says that Jesus will judge mankind (John 5:22; Romans 2:16; Jude 1:14, 15; 1 Samuel 2:10; Psalm 7:6-8; Psalm 94:1-2; Isaiah 9:6).
4) Qur'an says that only Allah can create (Surah 6:102; Surah 15:86; Surah 22:73). But the Qur'an also teaches that Jesus creates as well (Surah 3:49; Surah 5:110).
5) Qur'an says that only Allah can heal (Surah 26:80). Mohammed said in an authentic Hadith, "Oh, Allah, there is no healing but yours." Meanwhile, in the Qur'an we find Christ saying about Himself, "I heal those born blind, and the lepers" (Surah 3:49). The Bible also discusses that Messiah will heal (Matthew 9:35; Matthew 8:5-17; Mark 5:34; Exodus 15:26; Psalm 107:19-21; Isaiah 53:4-5).
6) Qur'an says that only Allah has the power over life and death (Surah 15:23; Surah 36:12; Surah 50:43). In his book Beginning and End, Ibn Kathir tells a verified story of Islam that proves Christ had the authority to give death as well as life. It is told that Christ saw a woman crying over her daughter, who had died long ago. He asked her, "What makes you cry, woman?" She said, "My daughter died and I have no more children." Christ asked her, "Would you like Me to raise her from the dead?" She said, "Yes, O Spirit of God!" So, Christ stood by the grave and called the girl three times. On the third time, the little girl came out and talked with her mother. Then the girl asked Christ to let her return. He told her, "Go back!" The grave closed and she was dead. (Beginning and End by Ibn Kathir, part 2, page 84).

I realize that some want to believe in the Trinity so badly that they will overlook all that goes against it even when the Trinity sometimes is very confusing they are willing to just go with the confusion opposed to believing which is clear. (1) According to Ahmed Deedat John 16:7 and 16:13 is concrete proof of Muhammad - the advocate / the comforter / the spirit of truth.
In these verses Jesus says -
"Unless I go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you. " John 16:7 and "when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. " John 16:13
Is this the Holy Spirit or is it Muhammad? We could debate this another day, but for the sake of humouring Deedat, he BELIEVES and Muslims BELIEVE that John 16 prophesizes the coming of Muhammad through these EIGHT male pronouns and that he "will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears".
(2) So where does Muhammad come from? Who sent him or chose him to be a messenger? Is he chosen by Allah? Is he sent by Allah?
NO. In John 16:7, Jesus says "I will send him to you", so it is Jesus NOT Allah that sends Muhammad to the people. [Unless Jesus is God, which Deedat spent his lifetime denying]
(3) And what is the message that the Spirit of Truth will reveal in the Quran and who does that come from? Is it a message from Allah via Gabriel to submit to Allah?
NO. In John 16:14, Jesus continues, saying "He will glorify me because it is from me that he will receive what he will make known to you". So Muhammad will glorify Jesus because it is from Jesus that he will receive what he will make known.
(4) Deedat often says where in the Bible does Jesus say "I am God. Worship Me." but if Deedat believes that in the book of John Jesus is foretelling the prophecy of Muhammad, then he MUST accept the rest of this revelation. Deedat himself confirms through these verses that
"[Jesus] will send [Muhammad] to you" (john 16:7) , "[Muhammad] will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears." (John 16:13) and "[Muhammad] will glorify [Jesus] because it is from [Jesus] that he will receive what he will make known." (john 16:14)
So why does the Quran talk about Allah if Jesus says in the bible that the Spirit of truth will glorify me [Jesus]? Could it be that Jesus and Allah are the same "being"?
If Jesus and God are one then this passage from the gospel of John might make sense, but if Jesus is NOT God (one of the claims of Deedat), then these Bible verses can't be about Muhammad - Muhammad either is the Spirit of Truth sent by Jesus to deliver a message to glorify Jesus or he isn't.

The Paraclete: Excerpt from "The Bible, the Quran and Science" by Maurice Bucaille
The text of John's Gospel and only he explicitly refers to it under the Greek name of Parakletos, now Paraclet in French. Here, according to the Ecumenical Translation of the Bible, New Testament, are the essential passages:
"If you love, you will strive to keep my commandments; I will pray to the Father: he will give you another Paraclete" (14:15-16).
What does Paraclete mean? The text we currently have of John's Gospel explains its meaning in these terms:
"The Paraclete, the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send in my name, will communicate all things to you, and will make you remember all that I have told you" (14:26).
"He himself will testify to me" (15,26).
"It is your advantage that I go away; indeed, if I do not go away, the Paraclete will not come to you; if on the contrary I go away, I will send it to you. And he, by his coming, will confound the world in matters of sin, righteousness and judgment" (16:7-8).

Would it be difficult to understand that clarifications such as those given by A. Tricot's Petit Dictionnaire du Nouveau Testament, for example, would be there to offer all the clarifications? In the article "Paraclet" written by this commentator, it states the following:
"This name or title, transcribed from Greek into French, is used in the New Testament only by John. In the Johannine gospel, the word applies to the Holy Spirit; in the epistle, to Christ. "Paraclete" was a term commonly used by Hellenistic Jews of the 1st Century in the sense of intercessor, defender. The spirit, Jesus announces, will be sent by the Father and the Son and will have as its own mission to substitute the Son in the helping role exercised by him during his mortal life for the benefit of his disciples. The Spirit will intervene and act as a substitute for Christ as a paraclete or almighty intercessor."
This commentary therefore makes the Holy Spirit the ultimate guide of men after Jesus' death. Does he agree with John's text?
The question must be asked because, a priori, it seems curious that we can attribute to the Holy Spirit the last paragraph mentioned above: "He will not speak on his own initiative, but he will say what he will hear and he will communicate to you everything that must come". It seems inconceivable that the Holy Spirit could be given the power to speak and say what he hears. To my knowledge, this question, which logic requires to be raised, is generally not the subject of comment.
To have an exact idea of the problem, it is necessary to refer to the basic Greek text, which is all the more important since we recognize that the evangelist John wrote in Greek and not in another language. The Greek text consulted was that of Novum Testamentum graece.
Any serious textual criticism begins with the search for variants. It appears here that, in all the known manuscripts of the Gospel of John, there is no other variant likely to alter the meaning of the sentence than that of passage 14:26 of the famous Syriac language version called Palimpsest. Here, we do not mention the Holy Spirit, but the Spirit at all. Did the scribe make a simple omission, or, placed in front of a text to be copied that claimed to make the Holy Spirit hear and speak, did he not dare to write what seemed to him to be an absurdity? Apart from this remark, there is no need to insist on other variants, except for the grammatical variants which do not change anything in the general sense. The essential point is that what is stated here on the precise meaning of the verbs "to hear" and "to speak" is true for all the manuscripts of John's Gospel and it is the case.
The verb "hear" in the English translation is the Greek verb akouô, which means to perceive sounds. He gave, for example, in French the word acoustics, in English acoustics, which is the science of sound.
The verb "speak" in the English translation is the Greek verb laleô, which has the general meaning of making sounds and the particular meaning of speaking. This verb is often used in the Greek text of the Gospels to designate a solemn declaration of Jesus during his preaching. It therefore appears that the communication to men mentioned here does not consist in any way in an inspiration that would be the asset of the Holy Spirit, but it has an obvious material character because of the notion of the emission of its attachment to the Greek word that defines it.
The two Greek verbs akouô and laleô therefore define concrete actions that can only concern a being endowed with a hearing organ and a speech organ. It is therefore not possible to apply them to the Holy Spirit.
Thus, as it is delivered to us by the Greek manuscripts, the text of this passage of John's Gospel is perfectly incomprehensible if it is accepted in its entirety with the words Holy Spirit in the sentence (14:26): "The Paraclete, the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send in my name" etc., the only sentence which, in John's Gospel, establishes the identity between Paraclete and Holy Spirit.
But if we remove the words "Holy Spirit" from this sentence, the whole text of John has an extremely clear meaning. It is also concretized by another text of the evangelist, that of the 1st epistle where John uses the same word Paraclete to simply designate Jesus as intercessor with God (many translations and comments, especially ancient ones, from the Gospels translate the word as "consoler", which is a complete error). And when Jesus says, according to John (14:16): "I will pray to the Father: he will give you another Paraclete", he means that he will be sent to men an "other" intercessor, as he himself was, to God in their favor during his earthly life.
We are then led logically to see in John's Paraclete a human being like Jesus, endowed with the faculty of hearing and speech, faculties that John's Greek text formally implies. Jesus therefore announces that God will later send a human being to this earth to have the role defined by John, which is, in a word, that of a prophet hearing the voice of God and repeating his message to men. This is the logical interpretation of John's text if we give words their real meaning.
The presence of the words Holy Spirit in the text we have today could well be a voluntary later addition, intended to modify the primitive meaning of a passage which, by announcing the coming of a prophet after Jesus, was in contradiction with the teaching of the emerging Christian churches that Jesus was the last of the prophets.

You gotta love this guy. His power of debate is based on (1) ridiculous arguments and manipulation of the Bible, and debating people who (1) are not good at debating and (2) know very little about Islam.
Let's look at the bits he quotes:
"Beloved, believe not every spirit, but test the spirits whether they are of God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world." (1 John 4:1-2)
He then talks about false message false prophet, etc. but what does the Bible actually say which he doesn't quote or show?
"Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh, is of God. And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh, is not of God; and such is the spirit of Antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come, and even now already it is in the world." (1 John 4:2-3)
Again, there's a bit of wriggle room, because although most Christians would understand this passage to say that "Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God" means that "Jesus Christ is God" whereas Deedat would probably argue that God is the creator of all things and is just saying that Jesus Christ is flesh not God. He is not the Son of God, but A child of the father.
Let's see if the next quotes makes it any clearer if Jesus is a son or the Son?
So Deedat chose to ignore 1 John 4:2-3, but jumps to 1 John 5 verse 1: "Whoever believes that Jesus is the Messiah is a child of God; and whoever loves a father loves his child also." to prove that because Muslims believe in Jesus the Messiah who is A child of God they must be the ones with the true message. Muhammad is a true spirit.
But then Deedat decides NOT to quote any more...
He doesn't quote verse 5: "Who can defeat the world? Only the person who believes that Jesus is the Son of God."
He doesn't quote verse 10 - 13 "So those who believe in the Son of God have this testimony in their own heart; but those who do not believe God, have made a liar of him, because they have not believed what God has said about his Son. The testimony is this: God has given us eternal life, and this life has its source in his Son. Whoever has the Son has this life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life. I am writing this to you so that you may know that you have eternal life-you that believe in the Son of God."
Why doesn't he quote those verses that clarify that Jesus is the Son of God (not A son, THE SON, Son with a capital S) and that those who do not believe God have made a liar of him because they don't believe what God has said about his Son (Whose son? God's Son)
So when it comes to Muslims, they are more or less the same as many non-believers who believe Jesus was probably a wise man, but as there is no God, he cannot be the Son of God. Which is worse? Not believing in God, but recognizing the peaceful message of Jesus. Or being a Muslim that says they believe in God, but then calls God a liar, by denying that Jesus is his Son.
Personally, I think if you believe in God but are calling God a liar then you fulfil the second part of 1 John 4:3. Muhammad is a spirit that recognizes Jesus Christ, but denies that he is the Son of God and "such is the spirit of Antichrist".

Understand it is not me calling Muhammad the Antichrist here, but our friend Ahmed Deedat who chooses to use these verses to prove that Muhammad is the spirit. Unfortunately according to the passage, Muhammad fails the test. It's not enough just to recognize Jesus Christ as a person or a messenger, anyone can do that. But this chapter makes clear that denying that Jesus is the Son of God and that Jesus is God in the flesh makes you a false prophet, a spirit of the Antichrist - a prophet of the Antichrist if you will.
As always, Deedat has the ability to interpret and manipulate the unclear words of Allah in the Quran, but struggles to understand the clear words of God in the Gospels. And only Deedat knows best.

For Allah he is often used in quran so is Allah a man of course not like that for holy spirit if he is used that doesn't mean he is a man ,these terms are used as metaphors in both bible and quran! Muslims reject Trinity as they say how 3 persons can be one God? But they are doing same thing what arya samaj followers do when they try to explain mutashabihah ayats in quran regarding attributes of Allah for them in quran in surah al imran it is mentioned It is He who has sent down to you, [O Muhammad], the Book;
in it are verses [that are] precise - they are the foundation of the
Book - and others unspecific.98
As for those in whose hearts is
deviation [from truth], they will follow that of it which is unspecific,
seeking discord and seeking an interpretation [suitable to them].
And no one knows its [true] interpretation except Allah. But those

Lord." And no one will be reminded except those of understanding. Likewise in bible it is mentioned in luke 10 verse 22 All things have been committed to me by my Father. But my friend the quran identifies the Holy Spirit as a perfect looking man who blew into Mary's farjaha (Arabic for..... you know what). The quran also says that Allah will bestow his holy spirit on all muslims. To protect them and guide them. This means that the Holy spirit is omnipresent, that's how he can be with all muslims. To protect all of them he needs to be omnipotent. In short the holy spirit is God. I dare anyone prove me a liar.
