My best friend got one of these new to mow and plow and disc when we were 13 or so. Had trails going cross country from pond to pond down fence rows through the woods to camp and fish. The good ol days.

If you haven't found the problem yet, check the rocker arm on the valves. One of mine came off the valve and the valve stuck open causing a no compression situation. Unstuck the vale, put the rocker arm back on and it started right up.

This tractor had a broken connecting rod like most of these ST16 tractors ive owned. The easiest way to tell is the engine turns over and you cant see the piston moving down the spark plug hole. Ive already rebuilt this engine and sold the tractor and now onto my second st16 engine rebuild after that one snapped the rod too.

My nose cone was perfect on my st16, but I broke it when I was installing the new temporary motor & it fell backwards, after that & before then I pretty much knew that I couldn’t get a replacement & that it might already be broken, but I’m sad I was the person to break it/the mounting bolt holes, the rest of it is solid except for a headlight hole & non existent lights that it had because there were wires going to it.
Put a predator 212 in it had it for abt 6months & since then I’ve noticed a little power loss & now will start on 2nd pull instead of the 1st.
Got a 1yr full warranty I bought when new, so gonna blow it up & get the $100 out cuz I have another tractor & don’t truly need this one for a while, might not grenade it, but don’t want to fix the carb issue since it’s only a $100 motor where if it blows up I could get my $100 back.

RooneysSears01 lmao maybe so haha. I anticipated on just fixing it up but I had to buy it when he said he just wanted to sell it. If it was an SS18 I’d keep er but I just don’t get too excited over the ST series

DriveShaft Drew the concrete and plastic weights I only get $50 a pair at most. The cast iron ones bring more. But yes this is a very clean example! Stay tuned for more on this tractor
