watching Misha rip on his DAW is as amazing as watching him play and write on his guitar. truly a master at his craft. Thanks Misha! Great time as usual watching you do your tutorials.
god you make this look easy. I had a masterclass with Fede in 2019 and confirm he is one of the loveliest and funniest people around as well as being a RIDICULOUSLY good drummer.
I have bought Smash and grab, the Matt Halpern kit, fede Groove pack, the Rudy grooves, and Blake grooves. Which is super crazy because I remember when you guys got started because I'm from Baltimore. I'm very happy some Maryland boys have tuned out to be modern masters. If you're the type of person that has a problem with using grooves this is my idea behind it: if you're a guitar player and you can hear the drums in your mind but you can't quite work out the details when mapping out a drum sequence being able to look at drum grooves to see what velocities and how they went about doing it is tremendous in writing your own grooves. I don't think I've used any Groove without changing it in some sort of way. Because when you write songs, especially ones that lean towards the progressive end of the spectrum where you have time signature changes and Tempo changes it doesn't really work. But the pack he is using in this video is by far my favorite Groove pack. He actually labels the time signatures. Of course you can listen to it and figure it out with the other guys but it's just easier to read hey this is in 7/8. If you haven't bought smash-and-grab just go buy that shit. It fattens up your drum sound; I've even used it on my bass guitar.
Sure works very well! Bought it too about a month ago and it really made my drum sound get fat in no time! Really easy to use and make quick work of hard compression stuff when you're not used to it. ;)
Ggd made other drum VSTs irrelevant for the price, sound and user-interface! Took it over and you guys deserve it! Went bought OKW AR, Metal and Architects kits and they sound amazing
I have struggled with a writing process these last two years and watching this video as well as the other one you posted gave me a new medium to create from.
I love it! I've been using this pandemic as an opportunity to learn drum programming. Your videos are more helpful than anything I've found. Thanks for doing these, Misha.
Misha, thanks for include the retakes, mistakes and such... Your really great at what you do, but sometimes us mere mortals needs to see the Untouchables bleed...lol
In Cubase, how do you get the timeline to jump back to where you started the recording? I always have to reach for the mouse and click. Also: How do you get the faders to sit in the bottom like that? :)
Great Stuff! I got the both the Matt H 2 and Fede Groove packs, I have invasion as well, what kit are you using (preset) it sounds great! Do you have processing on it? Or is it all just the stock plugin? Thanks.
pretty neat! My only thing i was just yelling at the screen about was just that very first section has this like swing thing going on and I wish he would have pursued it more! hahah or at least I would have lol
He’s referring to the setting on his pickups. It’s a five way switch. He was using the second position. Get dat spank out of the guitar you know? Sorry it took someone six months to help you out lol.
Anyone else hear something in the drum track where it sounds like the drummer is vocalizing his parts? Especially the snare hits. I hear a huum. Weird.
Just stopping into say everyone please start begging these guys to ditch kontact....If they would just make thier own platform, something that works and works well I know I would be buying thier product but having to deal with kontakt is just a huge no for me and many others

It's always wild watching Misha absolutely FLY through his DAW.
He used select split delete copy paste mostly. I think with a little bit of practice you can get there too.
god you make this look easy. I had a masterclass with Fede in 2019 and confirm he is one of the loveliest and funniest people around as well as being a RIDICULOUSLY good drummer.
34:55 for the full song
The “Hmmm” at 25:35 is my favorite bit in this video. You can see him mentally solving the puzzle. So entertaining and inspiring. Keep it up, Bulb!
Matt Garstka groove pack in the future?
Yes please!
oh my Garstka yes :D
That would be the best thing ever
Matching guitr and headphones. I like this fella.

@@jimmygrenier9668 agreed.
Too bad kontact is ass 😂
Wish they would have their GUI like toontracks.
6:18 classic Bulb. Love it!
Literally had this same thought the moment I heard it.
Ggd made other drum VSTs irrelevant for the price, sound and user-interface! Took it over and you guys deserve it! Went bought OKW AR, Metal and Architects kits and they sound amazing
24:56 it helps when you can remember a groove like that before even playing it once
nuts right? worth mentioning hes probably "sight reading" the kick and snare on the midi track
@@TravisFodor of course he is, and also he has played odd time signatures for decades but its still amazing how he pulls this off in a (live?)video
I absolutely love watching these videos. Thank you for doing this for all of us to enjoy!
All of the drummers whose guitarists write the songs are gonna hate you so much for these insane groove packs and I love that.
I have struggled with a writing process these last two years and watching this video as well as the other one you posted gave me a new medium to create from.
Ah man I always love so much those walkthrough/compo sessions!
Jeez that guitar tone sounds so damn good
I love all of the GGD Products. They are really amazing.
I love it! I've been using this pandemic as an opportunity to learn drum programming. Your videos are more helpful than anything I've found. Thanks for doing these, Misha.
So cool to watch a master work!
Awesome insight Misha, keep them coming! Worth every minute imo.
Your streams are so cool man. Especially lately haha really enjoying them.
Thanks for the intro to this guy and his band.
LOVE LOVE LOVE this Bulb!
Sauce supreme
holy crap I absolutely love that chorus
I use that technique to write songs as well. It's pretty effective specially when you have creative block. Excellent video!!
Thank you Misha.... This was really inspiring!
Dude your process is amazing
Misha, thanks for include the retakes, mistakes and such... Your really great at what you do, but sometimes us mere mortals needs to see the Untouchables bleed...lol
I love these so much
Had some real P1 energy in this. Love it
Love watching these vids. Make it look easy dude haha
Take that Tom part and make the snare hit halftime and you loosely got yourself the Koloss solo pt. Which I love.
Holy riff salad! No, it's actually awesome to see the process for writing metal like this
Do you ever use Archetype Nolly for guitars? Love to see some tone you could dial up with something at that price point for us VST plebs.
In Cubase, how do you get the timeline to jump back to where you started the recording? I always have to reach for the mouse and click. Also: How do you get the faders to sit in the bottom like that? :)
hi misha typically when your quad track do you hard pan two left and right and then blend the others in like 60 percent ish? i like that full sound
SICK grooves bro
That tom riff (with the lead over it) and the dark chord "chorus" progression are proper sick you should use those in a song for real
🙌🙌🙌🙌
Cool sounding song
So sick
Great Stuff! I got the both the Matt H 2 and Fede Groove packs, I have invasion as well, what kit are you using (preset) it sounds great! Do you have processing on it? Or is it all just the stock plugin?
Thanks.
Bass sounds sick. What are you running ? Any insight?
34:25 my reaction when i heard that palm mute intro
Man how do you get your snare to sound like that... omg
At like 13:50, how did you duplicate the track and still make it sound stereo?
EDIT: Oh nevermind, it was a different take I'm stupid
Now you gotta sing on it Misha
Thomas Haake groove pack please
pretty neat! My only thing i was just yelling at the screen about was just that very first section has this like swing thing going on and I wish he would have pursued it more! hahah or at least I would have lol
Yeah, like it's from another song?
Can someone explain me the second position thing please? Can’t seem to find anything on the net about it...
He’s referring to the setting on his pickups. It’s a five way switch. He was using the second position.
Get dat spank out of the guitar you know? Sorry it took someone six months to help you out lol.
Legend
How about a Gavin Harrison groove pack? Better yet, sample his kit!
"Lets make this a tom" *Dirt face and instant joy activated*
Next Vocals!!
I could hear Meshuggah and The haunted in there.
nice video! however after watching this i noticed that 3 axe fx's where purchased using my credit card. weird
That fucking guitar sounds amazing.
The price, not so much....
Vlad from Jinjer should also have a groove pack.
Which loader are you using to monitor GGD zilla separately?
It’s just GGD Zilla on its own that he’s using
Swedish technique!🤝
is fact, in 1995 the destroy erase improve album change it all
Misha, would you consider doing a video about time saving tricks? For example: using the shortcut for pasting the hihat chicks at 15:05
U living under a rock?
Ctrl + D on a PC, Cmd + D on Mac
Are you saying dester age? dexter age? I was trying to find the band you were talking about lol
Also I love the tone of the Dingwall basses, they are so meaty
Destrage :)
Sounds very meshugah
👍👍👍🇮🇹
New band named Mishuggah!
Keith A gold
Anyone else hear something in the drum track where it sounds like the drummer is vocalizing his parts? Especially the snare hits. I hear a huum. Weird.
P5!
Hey Misha, when are you going to turn in your resume to be the new composer for Doom?
Che zio
How dare the Pioneer of modern Djent utter the "D" word
meshuggah did it in 2002... ( sorry i coudn't help it )
This guy should join the band Periphery he really knows how to use the software really well, the band should check him out!
hahaha djent stick go bwow
Oof!
Mishuggah. LOL
FURST
Feel like the couple first riffs don't fit together too well, pretty rough transitions. the second half is sweet though.
Just stopping into say everyone please start begging these guys to ditch kontact....If they would just make thier own platform, something that works and works well I know I would be buying thier product but having to deal with kontakt is just a huge no for me and many others
can i sleep in your "studio" for one week?
he kinda reminds me of the guy from periphery.
Ggd sound so bad
