  • I needed a better seating solution for my Jeep Wrangler TJ and found that single seats from a Ford Transit Van (2016) are a perfect fit, so I made some custom brackets to bolt them in. Now I have space for 1 person and more room for storage, a fridge, or anything else I might want to take on a trip.

    This is a great idea. I got a 10 year old and soon to be new born. Thinking of either pulling the back seat in general, or doing something like this but with two seats. Can fit for, or easily pull one out and gain room. Also a much safer seat for sure.

    Jeff I’ve got the exact same problem! Any chance I could buy a set of these brackets from you? I don’t have a welder or CNC machine. Thanks Jeff! Awesome work!

    I’ve been trying to come up with a similar plan for my Jeep tj. What year transit did that seat come out of? Also, does the seat have the child seat latches in it?

    • @jham4x4
      @jham4x4  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      No child latches. It was a 2016.

    Nice work! You consider putting pins instead of bolts in the back so you could pull them and tip it forward if you need more space in the back? Just a thought.

      The seats don’t really fold so doubt they would flip very far.

    Jeff, because of this video I have kept my eye out on Craigslist, FB Market for one of these seats. I just picked one up today that matches my interior and was FREE! Now, where can I pay you for your time and effort on creating those brackets? Are any plans available for purchase? Thank you for your priceless ideas, keep on truckin!

    only thing I see I wouldn't like is when you hit the brakes will the seat belts lock and hold the kid In place ??

    • @jham4x4
      @jham4x4  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The seat belts will lock up. I even used them with a car seat because you can pull the belts all the way out and will lock as it retracts.
