Had a few beers with Lee (and Mick Box) backstage back in 1994. Great guys. Lee and I started talking about Randy Rhoads and how most fans thought that Rudy Sarzo and Tommy Aldridge played on the Diary of a Madman album. Lee told me a funny story of how the Deep Purple guys (Ian Gillan) wouldn't let them into a party they were throwing, lol ~ R.I.P. LEE
Love this...It takes me back to a time when my older brother would be on his bass and I on my drum kit in my mom and dads den, playing to a sold out crowd in our minds lol. Our set also consisted of Rock Bottom and lights out by UFO and just about every Maiden song lol. Good times!
It is amazing how he was able to make that spacey sound with a set of drums. He had so much music inside of him. He was great, he really made it happen.
These two got royally screwed over by Ozz management. They wrote most of the material and lyrics too for Blizzard and DOAM. Some of the best metal lyrics ever put to page
Kerslake didn't write any of the music, it was Daisley and Rhoads. Which is why every Ozzy album after the first two were good but not monumental, the songwriting just wasn't there.
@@Slickmickyoyo97 Jake and Daisley were just as good, especially the stuff on Ultimate Sin like Killer of Giants and Thank God for the Bomb. It's what gave Ozzy his first platinum record of the 80's, which not even Daisley and Rhoads could achieve.
@@stevenbacakos Today, yes. Back in the 80’s, no. Blizzard and Diary were getting outsold by the Dio Black Sabbath albums in the early 80’s. Lee and Daisley were the ones who put Ozzy ahead of Dio and Sabbath with Bark at the Moon & Ultimate Sin. Ultimate Sin was his first ever album to go platinum. The others went platinum at the end of the 80’s.

Those first 2 records are NOTHING without these 2 guys. They're the ones that made it happen. They did a lot of the writing; they weren't just hired guns. They've been literally shit on by Sharon, while Ozzy did and does NOTHING about it.
Ozzy must have been mad to get rid of these guys! If they didn't want to tour, keep them around for studio work and take the other guys out on the road. But don't lose the magic you have with these wizards! Can't imagine the writing sessions with Aldridge and Sarzo...
too much depth on that reverb for drums id dial that back a hair and how is it on there is it seperated from the dry signal or blended on to it? should be smaller reverb basically is all more of a studio live room size that sounds like an arena sized reverb

@Spoons Tommy and Rudy were fine musicians, but they didn't reproduce the groove and feel of Bob and Lee. The pocket was those guys best friend.
@@freepressright That's fair. I personally think Rudy added a lot of flair for the live shows. They're all excellent musicians IMO.
Kerslake was so good on this album. And apparently helped write some of the melodies. Incredible.

English is not my first language. I added the reverb before uploading. The original tracks are much drier.
