    Save your money and stick with the 4 cylinder. It’s an SUV not a sports car. I currently own a Velar and it does the job it’s intended to do. Once the weekend comes, that’s when I jump into my 911.

    The GLE with the correct option's is such a great choice, even with the four-banger for around $65k you're getting a great SUV.

    Interior, exterior all beautiful. Size is good too, not offensively large. This ticks all the boxes. However, if I'm gonna be spending that much money I want a far more comfy ride. They need to improve the ride quality.
    And the reliability. I've heard it's one big nightmare, sadly.

    • @MeynMotorGroup

      The thing with a majority of these luxury cars is, the average person thinks these sorts of Euro cars are significantly superior than your everyday Hondas or Mazdas when that's not really the case. For the most part, until you are paying over $80k for a lot of these cars, you can get something like a Kia Telluride that will do the job just as well if not better in some cases.
      Some of the few cars that I have noticed to be truly transcendent and superior to "regular" cars are E class level Benzes and up, Porsche products, couple Lexus cars, couple Audis, and BMW sedans are decent, but the list kind of ends there.

    About controls at displays, not intuitive. It is true, but how long you have driven Velar? Or any other Land Rover? Learning curve is steep, but once you get hold of it, it is easy to use as in any other car. I agree that when you sit in Audi, or Merc, you feel like you have been driving it for years, but on other hand, Land Rover is different company and in some way it's OK too have their own logic in screen/button layout. Again, agreed that controls are somewhat unintuitive, but I don't think they are that bad.

    • @MeynMotorGroup
      @MeynMotorGroup  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Over 1 week which is more than most journalists that test cars for 7 days from the manufacturer. Getting used to something is fine, what I'm referring to here is the design of the infotainment from the factory, I shouldn't have to get used to it, it should just come naturally you see what I'm saying. Check out Audis dual screen system at a dealership you'll know what I mean

    • @djordjedjolic7641
      @djordjedjolic7641 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MeynMotorGroup I disagree that you shouldn't have to get used to anything, since using car controls isn't something that we are born with, but we learn over time. For example I have driven german made cars for most of my life, but then I tried Jeep GC and had some trouble getting used to it, but after few weeks everything was cool and U connect fitted like a glove. But when I got VW Touareg again there was some period to get used to. So, I am not saying that controls are intuitive or logical, but that they just need some time to.get used to. On the other hand, you have to take in to account that these screens follow the logic and plan of controls from generation or two older Range Rovers, so for Land Rover drivers it isn't so hard to get used. Agreed that Audis infotainment and dual screen solution are probably best in the biz right now, but RR ain't so far behind.

      If you do the recommended maintenance just about every car will last, but people get lazy and/or can barely afford these cars in the first place. They let the little issues compile up until it turns into a catastrophic issue. Then you have people saying that this car or that isn’t reliable but the truth is, it wasn’t maintained very well or at all.

    This might be controversial to say but I think most velar buyers might be better served by the Jaguar Ipace. Factoring in the tax credit, it’s around 70k fully loaded. It has similar interior space but is smaller on the outside and you have the convenience of charging at home (I suspect most velar buyers have a home garage). Way better performance than the velar too. Similar build quality, comfort and materials too along with “fashion forward” looks. Anyway just a thought.

    • @MeynMotorGroup
      @MeynMotorGroup  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      So iPace looks great I want to really like Jaguars because they do drive good but unfortunately their interiors are almost never as nice or well built as the Range Rovers.
      But I guess in this segment brands and badges matter more than quality and you're right Ipace offers more for less and I think the Jaguar brand still exudes prestige and an exotic vibe to satisfy the 1%...I think

    • @richardh3587
      @richardh3587 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MeynMotorGroup yeah I was pleasantly surprised by the ipace interior. It’s very well built..maybe cause it’s made in Austria. Much better than other Jags. But yeah I think most velar buyers really want that range rover logo across the front…

      @MeynMotorGroup  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh that's good to hear because I really wanted to like the ipace glad you confirmed the interior quality is good. But yes, most want Rover plastered on the front and back

    • @richardh3587
      @richardh3587 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MeynMotorGroup even more surprising is that it was better built than the taycan I test drove a few months ago as well (yes I like asking for test drives of cars I can’t afford). A few squeaky plastics on the taycan (including the steering wheel trim) as well as some rattles. Kinda disappointing - almost what I’d have assumed the Jag woukd be like.

    hey brother looking into getting the 2022 velar 2.0 litre inline 4 on lease for 30 months at 5.99% APR $932 monthly payments , do you think its worth it ?

    • @MeynMotorGroup
      @MeynMotorGroup  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yea that's the problem with Range Rover leases as well as Mercedes, the interest or the money factor is very high on them. That's about what the payment would be hopefully with 0 down. I would only pay that for the 6 cylinder tho. Check out leasehackr and see what others are currently paying. But RR leases are genuinely more expensive

      @MeynMotorGroup  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well I don't like the car to the point where I would do it but if you were someone that had to have a Range Rover product then yes it's simply the cost to have one.
      But you can just finance it and dump it after 3 years it's also the same thing payments will be a little high on a 70k car would have to maybe do 72 months.
