I've had my D300 HSE R Dynamic 2019 for nearly a year now and It's amazing. Fantastic acceleration and Quality.

2 years trouble free motoring with my Velar. Best car I've owned without question and although I like to change car often and not buy the same, this time I may just do that because I can't find anything I'd rather have. Love it.
i tbink gv70 and macan are better, but velar is a not so distant third!

You get more car for the X5 for the same amount of money but Velar looks so gorgeous lol

I own a 2021 P400 in that exact color (and even the black pack) and loved it when you said "motor, money, trasmission, no idea where you're going" haha! I really like the engine, it keeps the car exciting for me.

We have a D300 HBER Dynamic amazing car to drive and so comfortable. Have had no issues at all. Amazing fuel economy

They do so much right, how can they not get some simple, less expensive elements right? Not to mention finally conquering their reliability history. You'd think there would be a reliability guru whose one job is to ID and eliminate all of their quality issues.
their CEO said a few months ago they are actively working on improving reliability fwiw, they know it's a top priority. fingers crossed

Well. We picked ours up on June 1st. Since then drove it for 7 days. The rest of the time it was in the dealership because of Def/ AdBlue faults and the wrong injectors installed (for a 2.0 not 3.0). So until now. Beautiful car, drives great, however reliability is shit.

I own a 2023 Velar blk on blk R-dynamic.i love it !!!! My daughter has a Mercedes always in the shop i always have to pick her up.she wants a Velar.
I’m surprised you don’t consider the GV70 Sport Prestige (or Sport Plus in Canada) as competition to the Velar. I’ve owned both and I actually prefer the Genesis. The interior space is very similar (maybe more rear leg room in the GV70), have similar power output, and both look different from every other SUV out there.
That's the second time he didn't mention the GV70 as a competitive (the macan review), even though it's one of the best( if not the best) in that category 🤔🤔🤔.

@@AAhmad3449 why do you say that? They are more luxury then volvo, audi and BMW. They ride qulity is on par with all of the European cars that you just mention. I wouldn't even put volvo in that list. The GV70 3.5T is a better overall suv then the QS5, GLC 43, Macan S. Only the X3 m40i is a bit better. I don't compare the heritage of the brands. I'm comparing car for car.

This Velar doesn't compete with the X6, GLE coupe and Q8 those 3 suvs are a lot larger and pricier than the RR Velar as they are coupe versions of X5 and GLE, it competes more with GLC coupe and X4!!!
Agreed, I was confused when he said GLE, X6 and Q8. They’re better compared to the RR Sport.

2009. To 2012 are unreliable I owned 2019 Evoque never a problem. Traded in for 2023 Velar I fell in love with my velar.my daughters Mercedes always in the shop.shes now looking at The Velar.

Yeah but volvo doesn't have offroad capabilities like range rover.. either way you'd think uk where it gets cold in winter a range rover should have heated windshield standard. Unless they also know people would pay extra for it reeheeheeheem... excuse me..

It really doesn't matter how nice and techy all these new cars and suvs are because the price is to high. You have to remember they are just automobiles and depreciate thousands as soon as you drive them off the lot. Not an investment.

who buys a brand new car as an investment? no one ever does that.
A car is not an investment it's a luxury and necessity at best. People should stop calling cars investment,if you like it buy it, If you can afford it without stress. Although I agree most of these modern cars are over priced, nevertheless, if people can afford it why not. I am not impressed by this RR tho, too expensive for what it is, then again,it's a name brand.
I lease cars so not bothered by this. Probably going to get a Velar next.
Sorry but this velar is not in the same category as the X6\Q8. More like the X4 that has the same wheel base 113 inches and length 188 inches. The X6 is 117 and 195 inches.

I have a 2018 Velar R-Dynamic HSE and while the car is gorgeous, I hope JLR works out some of its design flaws and quality issues. Bringing it to the dealer all the time for warranty work is a real pain. And on hot days, the rear AC vents will often suddenly start blowing piping hot air and no dealer can seem to fix it (I once had a '21 model as my loaner and it did the same thing).
I’m glad they finally changed the gear nob. It feels better this way.

Honestly I'm stuck here I'm turning 32 in March I'm coming from a 2016 Honda accord sport I am really having a hard time choosing from the maserati levante and the velar both cars have horrible reviews unfortunately as a car guru which 1 would u recommend
I have the S model.... But put in dynamic mode and drive mode to sport...then you can use the manual shifters...gets a tad better. I like it for the comfort not speed. Still don't feel rich btw!
I have a 2019 Velar and it's broken down around the 10 times since the second year I purchased it, it just wouldn't start when it is too cold in the winter and the dealership obviously cannot fix the issue...all other aspects of this vehicle is not bad, but the vehicle not starting problem is driving me crazy

What I’ve noticed about the velar is that if you switch to sport mode you better use the gear shift pedals to avoid that delay in gear shift otherwise just keep it in automatic to avoid that annoying delay sound and feeling, beautiful car otherwise

I like the velar but the X5 and the Q8 drove substantially better. Love the look and the interior although, like the Q8, the touch AC looks cool but it's less practical than physical controls
not sure why the PHEV P400e model isn’t available in the US/Canada
When driving on S aren’t you supposed to do the shifting? Isn’t the car waiting for you to shift and thats why it rev limits? Then realize a big no and take over control?
You can drive in S without shifting yourself. Once you press the paddle shifters the manual shifting engages.
I own a Range Rover Evoque and i say I want to keep driving this all the way

It’s a camera shutter thing. Our cameras film at a certain frame rate that can make certain screens look funny. Nothing wrong with the car.

The gear change problem came with the p400 the p380 didn’t have that problem. My guess is because of the electric motor.

Good review. JLR's design is on point...BMW take note. The Audi is an okay design. However, the X6 is a hideous looking car. The Velar with an inline six turbo engine and those rims is a beautiful car. But alas as a pleb I'm on the hunt for a used E92 M3 and a Mazda 6 wagon for my wife and newborn daughter. If we don't have a Great Depression 2.0 I'll get the missus a used Velar Inline 6 in a few years time...with a warranty😂.
