    This song is about BEHAVIOR. What is acceptable in a city is not in a small town. People in small towns know each other, they know their familes, there is a code of respect. This is a much needed message. There is nothing racist in this video. Great reaction!

      Unless you look at history. Imagine a black man hung by his neck where that American flag is draped. Because THAT is the history of that exact spot. This is the reason CMT pulled it - and rightly so.

      @@skipfantry5059 I am not entirely sure Jason Aldean's team chose that on purpose. He may have chosen it because it resembles The White House, and a huge American Flag hangs in the backdrop. If you look into lynchings in American History you will find that, in New Orleans, in 1891, 11 Italian immigrants were found innocent of murdering a police chief. They were lynched anyway. It is prorupted to be the largest lynch ing in our storied history. I am an Italian/American, am I complaining. CMT has NO business inserting themselves into past issues....

    I dont know about now because i retired, but back in the 90s as an OTR truck driver you could still find the feeling of community that i grew up with in small town rural oklahoma, in downtown compton brother. Its about denouncing the senseless violence in our communities and standing up to it with the grass roots strength of our communities. As a side note, those riots, senseless violence ruined and destroyed the lives and livelihoods of thousands of folks. Took the lives of folks like retired police officers like David Dorn. At the cost to the tax payers of @ 2 billion dollars. We have a right to be angry at those rioters. They cost us all doing that. • @kevingrover1554
    @kevingrover1554 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Thank you, Sir, for your honest (and correct) opinion of this. As you alluded to, he's not talking about what people are making it out to be. In a big city (as depicted) you can spit in a cops face and nothing happens. But in a small town, you will be arrested for assault. As for the gun, he's referring to more and more gun restrictions that only penalize law-abiding owners.
    People talk about the "Woke" culture. Jason has started a new type of "Woke" culture where minorities are realizing that the far left has been basically lying to them and using them. The fact that the far left has been crying about how this song is racist and all that stuff. The minorities are seeing that cries of "Racism" against Jason and the song are nothing more than the far left WANTING to make something out of nothing in an effort to create stuff.
    For perspective, notice that the "Liberal Media" - when showing clips of riots - ALWAYS showed minorities and NOT all of the WHITE people who were not only outnumbering the minorities in the riots...but in a lot of ways, managing the riots. Notice also how the "Liberal Media" has started rumors that Jason is suing Whoopi and The View. It's not true, but it's an attempt to turn the minorities (mostly the black community) back against Jason. The Liberal Left is afraid that if minorities finally realize they are being used, then the Liberal Left will lose their control over minorities.
    As for your question about tattoos in small towns, EVERYTHING is accepted. As long as you are respectful to everyone (as should be).

I was so proud to see them leave without doing any damage, as townsfolk stood their ground. Add the fact that EC is off any major routes, it wasn't that easy to bus in their protesters. Jason is from Georgia where the state of emergency was. I don’t know when I don’t watch the news. But this video was shot in Columbia Tennessee, which is where Jason currently lives with his wife and family. That’s a courthouse with the flag hanging off of it which is one of the oldest structures in Columbia. People are trying to say that because of the lynching against Black people at this courthouse took place back in the 1920s that Jason intentionally shot the video there as a subliminal message supporting lynching, which is absolutely and utterly absurd. He simply shot the video there because it’s a monumental landmark in his hometown, and he doesn’t like to travel far away from his family when he works when he can avoid it because of the touring that he usually does.

    I live in a town (177 people) .i had a stroke in JANUARY, my only heat in my cabin is a wood burning stove, my neighbors brought me wood until I could cut my own wool. After my stroke my neighbors put me up in their house until I could be by myself. My neighbor had a problem with her car and i told her that I would take her to the grocery store (60 miles one way).it's what you do for your neighbors

    Great song!!! Nothing about color of skin, all about how people are behaving today!! Respect and love is what conquers all, not violence and hate!!!

    Because of living in a small town we were babysitting at 12 years old. Some were little babies so mom could go grocery shopping and stuff just to get a breather. Thing is - every neighbor would know and all the other adults would be keeping an eye on the house. Some of these babies are parents to children off to college now. They make sure i still know everything about their lives. I completely love it ❤ they're still my babies

    The SONG wasn't the issue, it was the location of the taping of the video.. that's all . I see many comments on here that have no clue of the history of why this was such a issue... please people know your history. The song has a wonderful meaning and I'm a very proud Tennessean but it more about the logistics!!

    Thank you Sir, this is just about taking care of your own, and issuing a firm signal to prevent any more ravaging and violence that has impacted our country for so long.

    I grew up on a farm near a village. I've contracted in many cities and am now back in the country/small town environment. That song is exactly right. It isn't political. It isn't racist. It's about taking care of your own People and neighborhood, keeping them free, doing what's right.

    This is not racists. People have to start standing up to all these thugs. He's right it won't be tolerated in a small town. I'm from a small town and we haven't had any of these issues. I stand with Jason Aldean on this. You are correct we take care of our own no matter your color, race or religion.

    I moved to a small southern town from Chicago about 30 years ago best decision my family made. We really do look out for our neighbors here.

    You are absolutely right about the message. I grew up in a small town in Florida. I have moved to a small town in Tennessee. In both places, I feel comfortable walking down the street because I know that the people there care about me, even if they don't know me personally. I wouldn't want to ever leave home if I lived in a big city.

    I grew up in a small town, we take of each other, people with money, people with a little money or no money everyone looks out for each other. If someone spit on our local police, they better be going to jail, by morning they would have accidently fallen down a set of stairs or at least all the bruising and black eye would be present. All the things he talks about will not happen in a small town because as he said we take care of our own. My hubby was in the hospital with his heart, I am in a wheelchair. looked out the window and a friend was mowing our grass, one winter a local judge and his wife shoved the snow, the fire dept does it all over town for people who can't. We are the good old boys!!!!
