Lies, eh? Interesting choice. I personally prefer It Was All a Lie. it’s the character development for me, the way they spin the original song into a new meaning. the darkness can hide our own inner light, but finding that light in the dark is important too.

Pre-Fallen? First of all, i legit didn’t know Evanescence had albums before Fallen. Second, this song was made after Fallen. Fallen came out in 2003, the original version of Your Star came out on The Open Door in 2006, and this remix came out on Synthesis in 2017

Oh my god I was listening with earbuds in and with that 3d sound effect in the beginning I thought they were dying on me at first. Great song tho, I've always love Your Star, so hearing it remastered this way is perfection.
Her vocals in the beginning are extremely phenomenal. I've been admiring her voice here more than anything. I didn't struggle tolerating the instrumental on this track, either. Transitioning into not having drums and guitar has really been a challenge for me. But this was great. I find myself admiring the instrumental arrangement better if the voice is taken out. Then it feels like a brand new track almost. The organ missing kind of makes the song lack...
Once you've experienced true homesickness, the lyrics, loneliness and the longing of this song will hit you hard. The Synthesis version and it's slowed down vocals makes it even more clear - one of my all time Evanescence favorites!
One of the most ethereal songs in the Ev catalog. To me this song is about longing for faith. There are dark Christian undertones. The perspective that one is lost in the dark and has self awareness of their being lost. Knowing that God is far away.

Today, some rock music "magazine" I guess called Loudwire made an article about the lawsuit which the band filed against Bring Me The Horizon, and lots of people were viciously attacking Amy that she was desperate to surface up and regain relevance after all the musical hiatuses. This was one of the very few times I've read any criticism about the band or Amy, and I tried to accept it, but honestly, I can't understand how anyone can bash this band. I know their music isn't for everyone, and they are hardly relevant anymore, yes. At least here in Egypt no one will know who they are unless you play Bring Me To Life and they'll have an instant "Oooh!", but Evanescence is a very, very special band. I honestly blame on them how they've lost their relevance and haven't done more art, because they're truly something. Evanescence was never a one hit wonder, it just happened that they were away from the spotlight for too damn long. What I love about them though is that you can't put them in a box, they're not all metal, not all rock, not pop, not classical, not electronic, they're all of those. With Amy's vocals, her lyrics, and the band's talent, they continue to bring out golden content that is very underappreciated in my opinion. Their newer content on the other hand, "The Bitter Truth" album is going to take some adjusting. It's sadly the kind of album you'll need to listen to a few times to actually like.
That was a sensationalized lie, Amy and the band never sued BMTH. People started commenting that BMTH's song had basically sampled a melody or whole verse from Ev so the band realized that and contacted Ev. Then their managers talked and BMTH gave a credit to Ev on the song, and that was that. There was never a lawsuit or threat of lawsuit. Amy and BMTH even collaborated later on a BMTH song, a really great collab.
