    By the way...If you're in the UK, and you're thinking of buying a Sage machine (any Sage machine, not only their coffee machines), join my mailing list at coffeeblog.co.uk and then drop me an email to see if I have a current discount code to share. I don't currently get Breville discounts, sorry, but I do sometimes have Sage Appliances UK discount codes to share.

    This was super helpful, I was lookimg for a video of use so I could see how my grandparents might get on with it. I knew that the touch would be too intimidating for them and I was hoping that once set up it's just grind and pour with pressing the button for cups and a button to froth the milk!
    Very pleased to see it's nice and simple

    I have the Oracle which I bought 7 years ago. Superb machine despite everyone saying I was mad spending over £1500 on a coffee machine! Reliability has been very good. Your videos are definitely looking more professional. Btw, when’s your next competition??

    I love the option to fill in Water at the top/front. But my flap keeps jamming probably because of limescale. Vinegar essence helps for some days but in my opinion it is a faulty design. Is there are a better solution besides descaling the snapper? How can I remove it when it will be damaged?

      It's a great machine overall. It's not for everyone, but for someone who was thinking of going for a similarly priced one touch bean to cup machine personally I think this, and the touch, blows most of the competition out of the water, and it may look like more effort than using a bean to cup but there's really very little to it.
      Cheers :-)

    Hey Kev love your vids - The Oracle was made for me - I only make and drink lattes or flat whites - don’t ever drink espresso straight - because the Oracle doesn’t dial in the coffee perfectly like a standalone coffee machine and grinder - that’s ok because any bitterness or sourness that the shot had is instantly masked with the milk - IMO it’s a complete waste of time trying to get that elusive perfect shot if all you’re gonna do is drown it in milk anyway - so nearly perfect is close enough for me - so now I don’t need to stuff around so much dialing in my coffee the speed to make a latte has gotten so much faster, the auto dosing, tamping and milk texturing also helps immensely - I also have a Breville Dual Boiler and Eureka Specialita but was getting so fed up wasting time and coffee dialing in coffee that’s why I swapped over to the Oracle - also have permanent nerve pain in my hands so the auto tamping on the Oracle is a relief - oh and I also have little feeling in my hands so the auto temp steaming wand is perfect when I steam my milk - Yes the Oracle is truly the machine for me - couldn’t justify the $1k difference (in Australia) between the Oracle and Oracle touch just for a touchscreen - the Oracle has all the buttons I need - keep up the great vids - Tatty Bye 👋

    I got my Sage Oracle in July 2019 from lakeland with a 3 year warrantee for a smidge over £1,100. At the time i thought i lost the plot but its still going strong to this day and ive recently discovered they have gone up to £1,500 odd pounds so i got a bargain!

    Posted this question on your oracle touch review and then noticed you'd reviewed this machine which is the one I've got recently. Just wondering whether you used it with the fan set to silent mode and whether the fan still kicked in after pulling a shot as opposed to always being off, ie silent. When it reset it to silent again the fan stays off until I pull another shot.

    Hello Kev, really enjoy Your videos and hopefully i Can have some of your expertise my Way :) I Got the Sage oracle after this vid and returned my Sage barista pro. Alrdy have better shots, so cheers mate!. But i’m a bit unsure if (after seing ur other fine review) i acc should get the delonghi magnifica, the reason being i mainly enjoy Black coffee or lungo/americano and minimum effort (waiting for baby nr 2 and have no time left in my life lol). So if i mainly Want to safe time and enjoy great Black coffee, you Think the delongi Will do as fine as the oracle? - i acc Think the Long Black is a bit too strong on the oracle, but im afraid the delongi Long Black is a bit too weak ..

    Really want to see you go the next level deep on this machine. Thinking about getting this so my fiancé can make coffee when I’m not around, but want to know if it can get me the same quality with the standalone grinder I would use in lieu of the all in one.

    • @Coffee_Kev
      @Coffee_Kev  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Challenge accepted :-). Quick answer to your question would be, with the right coffee it will get incredibly close with the integrated grinder.
      If you're using a relatively "normal" roast profile for espresso, medium-dark upwards, then great - I think the only thing your fiancé may notice (depending on her palate and how fussy she is about perfectly dialing in, and each to their own there as some people are more than happy with "ball-park" dialing in) is that the first couple of shots after it's first heated up if you don't leave it on for a good 30-40 mins or maybe longer before using it, can change a bit in that you may be dialed in for the first shot and then the next shot seems like you've gone a few settings looser with the grind.
      If you're using lighter roasted beans, though, then the grinder may be a bit of an Achilles heel there. The machine itself can cope with lighter roasts, you have good control over brew temperature, preinfusion time etc., but the grinder has a slipper clutch that is set to prevent damage, and how this is set (in relation to how much torque it will alow before it engages) appears to be slightly different on each machine. I had three of the integrated grinder machines in my studio, and I tried one lighter roasted coffee (not really all that light, I'd say on the light side of medium) on them all, and it allowed two of them to grind fine enough, but on one of the three the clutch engaged at a fairly coarse setting so I couldn't get anywhere close to dialling in with that bean.
      So in a nutshell, I think if you're using medium/dark to dark roasted beans, you'll probably find this machine is fine with the integrated grinder.
      Cheers
      Kev

      @@Coffee_Kev thanks Kev! Looks like this thing can allow me to nerd out with diff temps and pre infusion, etc…with my Sette 270, but when I’m not home, she can get in the realm of decent espresso without having to go deep. She watches me dial in shots and do all this puck prep and she thinks it’s super intimidating. Sounds like this machine could solve my desire to upgrade from the Bambino Plus and meet her need to make lattes easily when I’m not around. Thanks for the help, and love the channel, as always. (And how awesome that you got the LMLM in for a spin!)

      @@Coffee_Kev "if you don't leave it on for a good 30-40 mins" I thought it auto-shutoff after around 15 mins as per some European directive from a few years ago to save power consumption overall. Didn't see a setting (even in the more detailed setup menu accessed by holding one-cup button on when pressing power on).

    Hey, thanks for your video! Do you think there is any downside for the Oracle compared to the touch except the "profiles"? From my understanding there is no difference between the product if I can set the milk and coffee parameters manual.

    • @Coffee_Kev
      @Coffee_Kev  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Sebastian, thanks for the comment. I'll be doing a side by side comparison very soon, but essentially there's little difference in the core of the machine, it's just the touch screen controls and the clever features that brings which distinguishes the touch from the oracle. Cheers, Kev.

    Great video. I currently have a Nespresso Creatista Plus but am looking to switch away from a pod machine as I find options for decent decaf pods that are strong enough for a good latte or flat white are limited. It sounds as though this is a good compromise between a home barista and bean-to-cup option ( I had use of a Magnifica S for a few weeks but again found the results a bit weak ) If I am drinking decaf milkies, do you think I will see enough benefit to justify the hefty price tag or would I get just as good results with a cheaper option (suggestions?)

      Hi Nespresso Creastista Pro user here. Although we don’t drink decaf we are a little fed up with the options available and we are looking at purchasing the oracle and also would like the Siemens. Did you make the switch from the plus ? How are you finding it ?
