Your videos are such a godsend some days. I'm surrounded by people, above me, below me, in front, behind, on all sides. The closest empty square mile is the middle of the ocean some hundred miles outside the shipping channel. Im drowning in humans, and for a small moment, watching your videos, i can feel the mountain air, the faint hint of pine trees, the crackle of rock and dirt underneath. Thanks, I hope 2019 is as filled as your other summers. Envious beyond whats healthy for how lucky you are to be so close to such sights. Cheers!

Pine Creek has some good fishing in it! Black Canyon looks cool! I've always wanted to do Coyote Flats! Always wanted to check out Montgomery pass! Very cool seeing those horses!

I have much older videos of Coyote Flats and Montgomery Pass. Quality isn't all that good compared to today but it's all we had back then.

A good friend owns this mine. We spent a week exploring. He took us by train into the mine. You were lucky you weren’t shot. No trespassing means no trespassing

I did not tresspass on the mine property. This entrance leads to a trail called MORAGN PASS open to the public which the mine owners are legally bound to allow access to. Once inside the main gate that you see in the beginning there is yet another gate and that is the gate where the private property begins. Besides it is illegal to shoot someone just for being on your property which we werent. I think you are a liar. I doubt you have ever been there except to take the MINE TOUR before they sold all the equipment and plugged up the adits. Either that or you are an idiot who does not know the law. I too am the owner of three silver claims so I Know the law. Besides, it says right on the sign HIKING TO MORGAN PASS ONLY. That trail head is where we stopped. Then there is another gate. Yep you are a liar or you would know that.

Thanks to social Media many of the quiets spots are being over run by the city folk.
Never give up good intel and always help spread the word do NOt post locations on the internet.
We just ran into about 50/60’of those dorks with bed cushions on their backs looking for boulders to fall off. LOL

What you say about the effects of social media on our outdoor areas is absolutely correct. There are no secret spots anymore...

There still are secret spots. There are just a whole lot fewer of them. And you have to go a whole lot further away to find them.

Love Pine Ck. But like you said taken over by climbers and also long term squatters.

I used to be able to go up there for days at a time without seeing anyone else. The fishing was good and the campsite was pristine. Now it's like going to Walmart.

The White Mountains are another such place. Not too long ago, Grandview Campground was basically a ghost town. You could go there any time you wanted and have your choice of campsites. Even if you got there late. These days, you are lucky to find a spot or two if you get there later than noon. It also seems like groups are larger. Whereas there may have been 1-3 people in a campsite before, it is not that uncommon to see 5-6 (or more) today.

I bought and shipped to Europe a '58 Plymouth that was in the mine.

At the mine or in the mine itself? I know some weird things are found in mines. But never heard of an automobile being one of them. I take it you went to the auction?

@@mobiltec I'm from Catalonia and wanted a car just like that, made someone go for me to the states and look for one to buy. After some search he found one for sale online and the person who is taking care of this mine had it there for sale. So I made him go there, check the car to see if it was what I really wanted, buy it for me and take it to L.A. to wait for it to be loaded at the ship.

@@riejurv50 I am looking for a vintage trailer for a guy in Germany and will be doing the same thing when I find the right one for him. Glad for your discovery.

@@mobiltec I don't know how are the laws about that in Germany, but here it all gets crazy expensive to ship something like that here... Then making the car street legal, restoring it, etc... I'd have bought an expensive brand new car for the same money hahaha But well, it's worth owning it. You drive a nice machine as well, this cars are extremely appreciated here in Europe, mostly at northern countries, not as much here at south sadly.

If you would like to send me a way to send you some of the pictures I took I would more than be happy to do so. I will have to talk to him to see where the trail head actually starts for sure.

I don't need your photos. I've seen the inside of the mine and knew many of the workers. I lived and worked in Bishop for a very long time. I've hiked both passes. Morgan Trail and Pine Creek Pass over to Horton Lake. I know that place much better than you ever will. As for being shot, like I said you can't shoot people for tresspass and we were not tresspassing anyhow. But I do carry and I'm a really good shot. If your "friend" had fired in my direction he would be dead now.

mobiltec I didn’t intend to strike a nerve with you it was a figure of speech about trespassers on mining property our past history. I admit that I should not have said that because I know they would not have shot you but they do carry. I think you would be an interesting person to tell us some of the history that you know about this mine. I do have an interesting picture taken inside the office of a model that shows all the levels of the mine.
