Great rundown. Picture quality is an important part of the equation in the home viewing experience. I always try to find a balance of picture and sound. Believe it or not, i find that Apple TV, Amazon Prime Video, TH-cam, Disney Plus (which is Hulu now also), surprisingly, Paramount plus off the best sound experience. They all offer a balance to visuals that make for a good ROI on the home theater investment. Of the big boys, Peacock, Max, and Netflix have to have the more disappointing sound quality across the board. Netflix has a lot of localized content, and they spend a lot on content, but they dont, which few exceptions, account for the soundscape in their mixes, 6UNDERGROUND being a notable exception. Max has marvelous content, but again, their feed just doesn't have the audio punch to match across the board. Peacock, well, their live sports fees like the Olympics were very immersive, but as to the rest of their content. Trash sound. I'm fully understand that this may vary show to show and movie to movie on any of these services, but this is my overall assessment.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts! I completely agree, 6UNDERGROUND was a standout in terms of sound. It’s one of the few Netflix titles where I felt the Atmos label was truly deserved. I know exactly what you mean-often, I see ‘Atmos’ on Netflix and brace myself for disappointment 😅. But The Adam Project also surprised me with its excellent mix. I recently recalibrated my home theater setup, and it’s like night and day! Apple TV+ has really been hitting it out of the park for me too-top-notch visuals and sound. It’s quickly becoming my go-to. I really appreciate you watching and sharing your thoughts!
