Evidently the creatures are 3 dimensional beings that exist on a different 3 dimensions. they have always lived with us but are used to being invisible to us. We are not invisible to them however so they must have a more than three dimensional field of vision. The glasses only show these creatures so the glasses expand the human field of vision to no more than six dimensions. The creatures react hostile toward humans that can see them because they have been able to see humans for a long time. They perceive humans as dangerous but, like we do, leave that danger be unless it tries to enter their home.
