People hate playing with players like Bardinette and Baus because they cause the entire game to be about themselves and it's disgusting. You either play with the strat and *maybe* win. Or you play standard and guarantee lose.

Why does Bard's exp matter? Also if it was bard support roaming, wouldn't the overall economy of your entire team be higher in both gold and exp?
@@treynguyen1236 It matters for ult timer and general power spikes, but yes if your adc is able to safely farm 1v2 or 1v1 you should land ahead in economy but that's not a given.
Also a bard focused on taking vision is able to do way less when roaming than a bard taking advantage of its team's vision, it's just not the same role in game
@@lanatsif worrying about whether your adc can safely farm is Wild considering the top lane strat assumes your 4 other players can handle an enemy top with 3 turrets+bonus gold worth of items. Worrying about XP on a champion that has 1 ability that does damage without including his passive (which only matters when you ROAM to collect). Not being able to realize you can affect top by using E behind them consistently and being able to join the jungler in his ganks without making it impossible to face the enemy laner thanks to the insurmountable gold lead.

Not really imo, a pick-up game would be closer to like normals. Ranked multiplayer doesn’t have any great analogies cause there is a casual element to it similar to pickup but also a very serious and competitive element to it that could lead to a professional career of some kind.
Pickup basketball would look a lotttt different if it was one of the main ways people got drafted to the nba.
It's not. A pick-up game can just end at any point if people don't want to play anymore. If we insert Agurin into the analogy, he basically just went "you're all shit I'm not playing cause we ain't going to win anyway". A pick-up game would end then and there case closed, while in soloq others are still fighting.

The analogy is borderline retarded. Basketball doesn't work in this situation because there is only one singular action going on the pitch at all times, but League is completely different. You have actions happening everywhere on the map. The comparison between the two strategies doesn't work at all because they are two very different scenarios.
As for the "having fun" part of the analogy, it doesn't work either. Pick-up basketball game is a chill game where everybody just wants to play, competitive basketball has a history of dumbass strategies that suck all the fun away because winning is all that matters. So from the start of game you are forced to invade enemy bot in hopes of map split and by doing so there is high chance your game is over before minions even spawn if it doesnt work.

If you are playing comp then other people's fun is not his responsibility because you should not be playing comp games to have fun. So yes your analogy was terrible. If riot games said you should not roam for the first whatever minutes of the game when playing solo lanes then that analogy would be correct. You don't have a right to tell people what they should build on their character as long as THEY think it is the best thing to build. Full ad sion is not a example of "trolling" and is not comparable to something like full ap garen which is clearly a bad strategy that no sane people would think is the best way to win games. The only problem with this bard's strategy is because it is a grey area which they are able to get a rank which is higher then 99% of people in the comment section yet is still quite bad.
At the end of the day if your point of view is that we should ban bad playstyles then sure but that would be hard to do but that is not a morally correct stance like your are acting. And with your logic ALL pro players who lane swapped while it was meta should be banned.
And if your stance is we should ban people who is not trying to win then fair enough but you can't simply just say full ad sion should be banned just because it is not the best strategy that current pro players think especially when RIOT literally designed sion to have huge AD scaling. If you play jungle and you see Bardinette top you should exchange smite for tp and go top instead. Yes, your team has no jungle, but at least you are allowed to play the game and not perma invaded in your own jungle.

it is not really a perfect analogy. It was a false equivalence. In a competitive game it is no one's responsibility for you to have fun. If you want to have fun then you can play normals. You have a responsibility to try to win in a competitive game especially in your own elo. Therefore the main point was is he trying to win. Well that depends on him actually thinking his strategy is good or not. But should he get banned? Not really unless he ints which he may do with illaoi if his bard gets banned from what i have heard. What about taking smite as a Support and just jungling the whole game? At what point is a strategy creative versus bannable? The rule is (and Riot has usually been consistent with this) if you can run the strategy without forcing your team into hostage situations, it's fine. Yi Jg with Support Mid meta wasn't bannable because it actively took two consenting players and unaffected the others.
If I say I'm going Bard Top with this retarded strategy, and my WHOLE team begs me not to, that should be bannable. In a competitive game, if the REST of the team agrees (or disagrees) on a play, you can't just run it anyways because "it's not your responsibility". It's why FF's only take 4, or even 3 people. If I hover Rammus into a 5 AP comp, in any ranked game past Gold the whole team would be begging me to switch picks. And forget Gold, in the apex ranks this is tantamount to just inting.

I am sorry but you are a bit clueless about the game. Proxy and this bard's playstyle is nothing alike. Proxying is a way to avoid laning against your opponent and does not sabotage your team like the bard playstyle does which gives your enemy plates and takes xp from your laners. Proxy is simply a strategy to avoid lane phase and not a playstyle. And all of them is not a "selfish" playstyle. People who think that have just played league for way to long. Is adc taking lane + jng farm selfish? No because that is the Meta. It is fair to call the bard's strategy terrible but saying it is "selfish" is just so one dimensional. Technically you are forcing other people to play the playstyle that you think is the best. Isn't that the definition of narcissist and selfish? Does most people agree that his strategy is bad? Sure. Honestly, I love it. If you're a League player unironically playing the game in a serious manner the joke is on you. League is a casual game that blew up for being a casual game. The only reason a 'competitive scene' even exists is because of the huge casual following. Most NA Pro's paycheck steal in the LCS because that's the only thing they know how to do. They couldn't play a real game if they tried. At least many of the Chinese/Korean players could, they just essentially forced into playing League due to the popularity.

You can rightfully hate him for the reason of him being a chore to play with for his off-meta strats and how he's messing with the experience of 9 other players, just like how Thebausffs does in a lot of his games, but you can't say his strats is griefing. It would be the same rationale you'd use to complain about a one-trick, i.e. no flexibility in champ select, certain playstyle (usually selfish), win condition of the game heavily favoured towards them.
