Thank God for bringing to these songs Daddy sang. We needed it, especially now for such a time as this. Covid 19. Innocent Children getting shot and killed in crossfires. They reach deep down in the soul and let you moan over the never ending troubles of life. God is still in charge.
YES LORD!!! As the Scriptures promise, The Holy Spirit will pray through us with groans too deep for words! Bless His Holy Name! There is indeed GREAT POWER in such moments with we who ARE His People. ☝🏽🙌🏽👏🏽✊🏽
I really hate that alot of the new Churches have gotten away from singing hymns like this. They're too sophisticated I guess. Sometimes it takes folk to almost hit "rock bottom" to truly understand the lyrics to some of these old hymns. I don't care how sophisticated you are, we are all still "sinners all defiled", but its so good to know that "his blood can make our spirit clean and write our names above". There is power in these hymns!
I understand where you're coming from here. There's a lot of emotion and power behind every word he says. But I personally prefer a more orderly form of singing hymns. The mormon tabernacle choir is a great exzmple of what I'm talking about. It just sounds beautiful
I don't think that's it. I think it's because for the most part they don't know how to hymn line. Come on now, it's hard to do it like he just did it. Since some (me) don't understand the words they'd rather just sing it out so everybody can sing along with understanding. But I love listening to them.
One of my favorite hymns "LORD I WOULD COME TO THEE A SINNER". Dr. Jones really pulled it for us, as he always does. We here in the Thomas County Ga. Area have enjoyed Doc. During our annual revival for the past 8 years at 1st Unity Baptist Church in Thomasville(Pastor Charlie Ross). Looking forward to being uplifted in September by this anointed man of God. SING ON PREACHER! AMEN!!!
