Great video Keith, I agree with you mate, physical media is absolutely NOT dead. Two big announcements from Second Sight last week with Scanners and The Brood, plus some Clint Eastwood releases this morning including a box set of Dirty Harry. There'll be loads this year. Take care both of you. Gaz.
Yeah this year is shaping up to be quite fantastic. Hopefully we will get the announcement of the Nightmare on Elm Street collection as well on 4k. The Dirty Harry collection is a massive deal and apparently we are going to be getting the lethal weapons as well. The death of physical Media my ass. Thank you as always Gary for stopping by
@@millerman9991Lethal weapon films in 4K tho I wouldn't part with my Dvd set as it is signed personally by Danny Glover after I met him at Comic Con a few years back
A reminder of how great 2024 was for collectors. Really kicked into gear the second half of the year and the momentum seems to have carried into the new year. Already have Usual Suspects, Seven added to the collection. A shame we lost the Seven Collectors Edition but the steelbook is nice. Deep Blue sea from Arrow pre ordered and of course Nige and I have our Hammer Release to look forward to by end of January. Honourable mentions to the King Kong and Oppenheimer releases last year. I really enjoyed both of those. Off work this week so going to see Nosferatu and We Live In Time this week. Great list Keith and thanks for posting.
To be honest Alan I could have probably done a top 20 out of everything that came out last year and as you said it has continued over to this year. I just finished shooting my video for Seven. Very happy with the results in the end. But there is already so many releases that I cannot wait to get my hands on this year. The newly announced second sight release of scanners is definitely a highlight. A huge thank you as always Alan for taking the time to stop by and share your thoughts on this video. I can't stress to you how much I appreciate it my friend. Look after yourself
That's all I can hope for a Saul. It was such a wonderful year and as much as I would love to see them better it this year I think it's a very tough ask. But it's off to a great start. Thank you as always for stopping by my friend
Great video Keith. Long live physical media. Absolutely love that Super Mario Bro's edition. Shame there was no HDR on the release because that colour pop would have worked wonders. That was the first movie I ever saw at a cinema 😊 That Never Ending Story edition is absolutely mad... and amazing at the same time. Can't wait for the full video. Here's to hoping 2025 is another great year for physical media
I actually went to see Super Mario Bros myself in the cinema and what an experience it was. Bear in mind I was a huge fan of the games. No surprise that I ended up enjoying the movie. It's funny but if you told me at the start of last year that I was going to own collectors Editions for Super Mario Bros and The NeverEnding Story I probably would have laughed in your face. What a year. Thank you as always Darren for stopping by. I hope all is well with you
A really good video Keith and some great editions 👍 looking forward to what's coming up this year, some good releases due from Warner Bros including a Dirty Harry collectors edition 👌
That Dirty Harry collection is going to be a huge deal for me. It was long rumoured and I really do hope it happens. It's a day one purchase for me. A huge thank you as always John for stopping by. If I remember correctly you should be enjoying your holidays and you have a birthday coming as well. Hope you're making the most of it
@@millerman9991 Cheers Keith 👍 on 2nd week of leave so enjoying it before work again next week, watching a few films too. Dirty Harry is going to be a great edition, hope the release date of December 2025 gets bumped up sooner 🤞
@johnfitzpatrick9994 I just got a message from somebody and apparently it's only the first Dirty Harry movie. It is getting the collector's treatment but I was hoping we will get the complete collection. Such a shame. Great to hear that your enjoying your time off John.
Thanks to you Kieth, 2024 really was an exceptional year for me. Your #5 pick “Last night in Soho” was a surprise purchase for me this year, as I work a lot but thanks to your review, I was able to pick that release up from Orbit DVD last minute. Congrats on your “Never Ending Story” set. I’ve been on the fence about that one awhile. Looking forward to 2025. Wishing you and the Wife all the best. Cheers! 🍻
I'm so happy to hear that you managed to get hold of that release of last night in Soho. Like I said in the video hands down universal best release of the year and that's saying a lot when you consider everything they brought out. The NeverEnding Story collectors release was always going to be my number one pick. Even when it got announced I knew it was going to be the best release of last year. A huge thank you as always Chadwick for stopping by. All the best to you and the family.
Hi Keith,,, Great video,,,👍, Fantastic boxset there,,,👌 I have 2 of those,, A nightmare on elm Street,,, And the hitcher, ,,,,,,, Hitcher I'm very pleased with, ,😃,, Wow the never ending story boxset looks amazing, ,,,,👌,,. Yeah I got to say,, that imprint and umbrella entertainment, ,, From Australia, ,, Thire boxset releases are absolutely brilliant, ,,, Cheers Keith 🍻 👍
Hey Lee. I am a huge fan of umbrella entertainment. As a matter of fact I'm looking into getting another couple of releases from them. One in particular I'm very intrigued to check out for the first time house of the devil. Heard so many great things about the movie and it's also directed by Ti West who gave us X Maxxxine and Pearl. Should be interesting. A huge thank you as always my friend for taking the time to stop by and check out my video. I hope all is well
@millerman9991 yes house of the devil,, Good film,,,, 👍,,, Lead actor,, Also starred in manhunter,,, A brilliant film,,,, I can't remember his name kieth,, Hope you know who I mean ,,👌,,
@lee-the-artist-1392 I must look into it. I've never seen Manhunter so I'm not sure who you are talking about. That's another movie I really need to check out
Excellent top 5 Keith, haven't any Umbrella editions (yet)..i had The Hitcher as my release of the year, well worth the wait...2025 looking likes its gonna be a stunning year for physical media...wonder how much i can get for a kidney 🤔
I'm sure The Hitcher featured in a lot of people's top 10 videos. Such a stunning release and I cannot wait to get my hands on second sight release of scanners. That's another massive release. At least you still have your kidneys Marty 😂😂😂. Thank you so much for stopping by my friend
2024 really was a monumentally good year. Ticked off so many on my hit list, can 2025 top it. My first pre orders are Constantine and Panic Room. Not a bad start . Bet you've got so killer titles lined up already Keith 😁👍
Yeah I have Constantine pre-ordered myself. How beautiful does that release look. Will be definitely picking up panic room as well. Massive fan of the movie. We are definitely off to a great start this year. Let's hope the momentum continues all year
Another great video. I agree with all your picks . I also really liked the twister release. And agree with you about being totally underwhelmed with nightmare set. They must surely not repeat this if a box set is released for the other films. Really looking foward to the Clint Eastwood westerns and Dirty Harry - Not that I can afford it all 😀
To be honest Dom I probably could have featured 20 collectors releases in this video. It's a testament to how great last year was. I'm very happy to hear about Dirty Harry getting the collector's treatment but I am a little bit disappointed because I thought we were getting the complete collection. Fingers crossed we will hear something in terms of the 4K release for the rest of the Nightmare on Elm Street collection. A huge thank you as always my friend for stopping by. I hope all is well
I have been saying that all night Joe. It's my worst release but I'm still so happy to have it in my collection. It's not terrible I just wish it was a little bit better. Thank you so much for stopping by
Good start in the new year thanks for this new video. I can agree with you as well that physical media isn’t dead but here in Germany you need to start to collect more internationally. If you wait on German releases it makes collecting very hard. I wish you a good week ahead
Very surprising to hear you say that about Germany because as you can see with my background a lot of my collector's releases are from Germany. I always thought it was one of the best countries for collectors editions. It's a shame to hear that things have changed. Thankfully we have that option to buy International. Look at my number one and two pick both of them are Australian. A huge thank you for taking the time to stop by and check out my list. I really appreciate it
@@millerman9991sure there are collectors editions coming out here as well but if you compare it internationally it’s not as good. Or maybe it’s me and I can not wait for another year until it will come out here 😂
The one thing you do have over in Germany which I am jealous about is the mediabook releases. I think Germany is the only country that's selling Mediabooks.
Hey Keith, great to hear your thoughts. Some pure belters in there, proving, as you say, not only is physical media not dead, it's in the best place it's been for years, certainly with UK and Australian releases, anyway. Great picks too. Thanks to you I'm the proud owner of the Last Night in Soho release, and I think I've tracked down that North by Northwest set too. I've said to you before that I share your sense of being underwhelmed with NOES. This was a flagship title for collectors, and although the transfer and soundtrack are good, the overall package just seemed a bit chucked together with little care. Lazy artwork choices from different films in the series and very poor booklet. At least the steelbook looked good 😂 Anyway, great video and here's to more in 2025!
Now you get a greater understanding of how much I love that release of last night in Soho and once again Steve I am so happy to see that you picked it up yourself. Fingers crossed everything works out when it comes to the north by northwest edition as well. Please keep me informed. But like I said in the video everything looks fine when it comes to physical Media. I understand TH-camrs are looking for content but there's no sense in talking about something that they don't have any understanding of. This whole death to physical Media needs to come to an end. But a huge thank you as always Steve for stopping by. Always great seeing your name pop up
Great stuff! I am 46 and only watched the hitcher for the first time On Saturday: loved it, but I spent the entire movie thinking that the young lad was in fact rh killer and it was all in his head, as rutger keeps appearing everywhere, which was impossible , I actually wrote a better version in my head as watching it, still Awesome though
Actually Mark that's a pretty cool concept that you came up with for the hitcher. The movie itself is a lot more simpler. You know the saying better late than never and I'm so happy to hear that you enjoyed it as much as you did. Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by and check out the video
I have a confession ! I watched it on a you tube rip ! The shame ! Will pick up the 4k ! Still in stock! Which I find surprising . Yes , I was sure he was the killer , but when the girl sees him shooting at the helicopter I still thought he was also imagining the girl too ! Need to watch last night in soho too . Thanks for the great video fella
I was just like everybody when it comes to The Hitcher release on 4k. I thought it was going to sell out on day one. I still cannot believe they are widely available. Definitely recommend picking it up Mark. It will be a marked improvement over what you've seen
Hey Keith, sorry I didn't respond to your message. It's an absolute pleasure to watch & respond to your video's. I should really complain as you've made me spend more money now than i wanted on 4K esp on sets from Black Barons, Astro creations ( only drawback is very slow delivery timetable grrrr ,but well worth it for their quality). Hopefully my copy of A Bridge too far should be here by the weekend. Prob one of my fav XL ( from imprint ) sets of last year. My worst for content is WWZ just a little underwhelming for me. The movie etc all fantastic 👍👍👍. But a lot of excellent work all round esp from second sight with The Hitcher, already ordered their two march releases... Arrow gave us Conan chronicles, BFI with seven Samurai. Just to many top XL editions like American sniper, Blazing saddles, galaxy quest, the northman, the ring ( thanks for making me buy that 🤣🤣🤣🤣) Twister excellent. Arrow also gave us The last emporer & 2nd gave us Mean streets. I'm kinda glad that 2nd don't do steels as the sets they produce are fantastic as they are and sets them apart & lastly The Godzilla minus 1 set from Plaion pictures is wow esp the film folder.. is a big fav of mine from last year. Take it easy 👏👏👏👏
As you can clearly tell Gareth last year I was absolutely extraordinary when it comes to 4K collector's releases. To be honest I probably could have done a top 20. It's a testament to how many great releases came out last year. All you have to do is look at Universal alone and that tells you everything you need to know. This year is already shaping up to be another special year. We just got the announcement today that Dirty Harry is going to be getting the collector's treatment. Of course we have second sights release of scanners which is highly anticipated for me. Even Steelbook releases the likes of the Social Network and Panic Room. Already so much to choose from. I never picked up the World War Z collectors release. The reason being is because I got the Paramount scares Edition and World War Z was part of it. I was told the Paramount collectors release of Pulp Fiction is supposed to be quite terrible. Thankfully I didn't pick that up either. A huge thank you as always Gareth for taking the time to stop by and share your thoughts. It's always appreciated my friend.
Looking forward to Constantine, Dirty Harry & Inception XL sets as well as steels for The Outlaw Josey & Pale Rider to great films. Tempted with Panic Room myself. Still looking for Shouts Drag me to hell Steel, tho I think it's a Feb release plus I'm tempted finally with JFK, but as I don't have a multi region 4K player I think the Blu's will be region A locked which is annoying. They should all be region free. I did buy cowboys & aliens ( don't ask lol ) really wanted to see the extended cut but ( Yeap it's region A locked ).
Yeah unfortunately JFK will be region locked when it comes to the Blu-ray side of that release. I have the 4K Steelbook release of Drag Me to Hell coming hopefully in the next week or two. Cannot wait to revisit that one. As for Cowboys and Aliens I would love to revisit that movie. I might actually look into that 4K release. Thank you for reminding me Gareth
Hey Keith, another great video and some fine selections. and the idea that physical media is dead, or dying is ridiculous Just a bunch of Clickbait. and if the nightmare on elm street was the biggest disappointment than it truly was a sensational year looking forward to this year already looking great take care of yourself and will see you in the next one👍
I understand that TH-camrs are looking for content but this whole thing of physical Media dying is becoming stupidly boring and it needs to stop. Like I said they have absolutely no evidence to support anything they are talking about. That's why I never talk about it on my channel because it's simply not true. How can physical Media be dying when we had the year that we had last year. Just today we got a huge announcement of Clint Eastwood movies coming on 4K including the Dirty Harry collection. I think physical Media is alive and well. As a matter of fact I think it's bigger than ever. Thank you as always John for taking the time to stop by and share your thoughts. All the best to you
@@millerman9991 hey, that’s great news about the Clint Eastwood collection. I knew that they were releasing the original dirty Harry on 4K but I had no idea they were releasing the whole collection. I have the whole collection in a nice blu-ray box set matter of fact I just looked at it about a week ago. I thought it was a DVD collection to my surprise It was Blu-ray. I’m a giant Clint Eastwood fan the guy I really can’t do anything wrong the first movie I ever saw at the theater was when I was 12, any which Way you can have you ever seen that that is absolutely one of my favorite movies with him waiting for the day to come out of 4K as always have a great one👍
I hope I'm getting that right when it comes to the Dirty Harry collection John. I'm basing that on what somebody told me earlier on tonight. I will definitely look into it and see for myself. I hope it's true because if it is it's going to be one of the biggest releases of this year. Just like yourself I am a huge fan of Clint Eastwood particularly the Dirty Harry movies and I really do hope they do the 4K transfers Justice. A huge fingers crossed
Like I said in the video Jason I didn't even have to think about it. I knew it was going to be my number one even when It got announced. Thank you as always for stopping by
Nice Video Mate !! Personally I loved while Not all collectors but mainly steelbook & they are as follows : 1.Chinatown 2.Steelbook Mandalorian set 3.Andor Steelbook 4.Obi Wan Steelbook 5. Nightmare on Elm Street As I say not all collectors but they are my top ! Cannot wait for Andor S2 !! Cheers Keith
I really need to start looking into a lot of those Star Wars series editions. I've never seen a single episode for any of them. I've heard mixed things when it comes to Obi-Wan but I still want to check it out. Thank you as always Cnnor for taking the time to stop by and share your list with me. It's always appreciated
@ ya ! For me there great shows !! I loved all of them & Andor is just a gem IMO ! Seeing Ewan Mc Gregor as Obi , Darth Vadar back again ! And the cool Easter eggs ! I just loved it !
@cgray8267 I seen a few scenes from the series. I was impressed and if I remember correctly Ellen watch it and she really enjoyed it. I'm sure I'll get around to it someday
Hi Keith, ye I c so many youtubers saying the same, I couldn't agree with u more, there's been so many new releases and collectors addition, the watford hmv 4k selection was poor wen it 1st opened but now it's much better... but tnx as always
Maybe it's different over in the States but over here in Europe there is no denying that physical Media is alive and well and I'm really hoping for a great year this year. What would I do to have a HMV open up close to me over here. I miss those days so much.
I'm in the positivity corner for physical media! Streaming has a purpose but once a film is removed from a platform, that's usually it. With tapes and discs you can keep them forever! How good is Rutger Hauer in The Hitcher?! Absolutely bloody terrifying! North by Northwest and Psycho are by far and away my favourite Hitchcock films. Super Mario Bros is such good, silly fun! Could've punched Koopa when he kicked Yoshi! And they got the proportions of the Goombas the wrong way around! 😂😂😂 I always cry like a bitch at the horse in the swamp scene. Not watched the film since the 80s because of that scene! If I saw Freddy Kruger in ultra high definition, I'd scream like Homer Simpson and run for the hills! 😂😂😂 Great video, Keith. Hope you and Ellen are keeping well.
When I woke up this morning what's the first thing I noticed on TH-cam. Somebody doing a video on the death of physical Media. It's actually getting very boring at this point. Like I said basing it on nothing. I wish people would just leave it alone now. If it happens it happens.
Yeah I think it's a testament to how great last year is when my worst release is A Nightmare on Elm Street. By no means terrible I just wish it was more than it is. A huge thank you as always Chris for stopping by
All of these are terrific editions, Keith, especially The Hitcher, and The Never Ending Story, I can't wait to see your review on that one. As for people commenting on how physical media is dying, they are talking out their rear, I don't think its ever been more popular than it is now especially with all the special editions they release, great times ahead especially for collectors like yourself. I know your disappointed with your, Elm Street edition but I'm just happy they finally released it on 4K, it was a long time coming. Great vid, Keith, catch you on the next one
I think when you look at the Nightmare on Elm Street box set and how I've classed it as my worst release of the year I think it's a testament to how good last year actually was. I was hoping for more but I'm still so happy to have it in my collection. Fingers crossed we will get the announcement for the rest of them this year. Rumor Has It it's coming. As for physical Media dying like I said in the video they really have to stop talking about it. It's getting ridiculously boring at this point. How can you talk about physical Media dying when we had the year we had last year. Thank you as always Gary for taking the time to stop by. I hope all is well
I'm so happy to hear that you picked it up yourself Steven. Like I said in the video I didn't have to think about what was going to be number one. I never noticed you could put another disc into the set.
Hopefully I will have mine in the next couple of weeks. The gentleman who bought me The NeverEnding Story actually bought me that release aswell. It's the deluxe one with the figure and the VHS tape. Cannot wait to get it. Sorry to hear that you're set came a little damaged. I can understand why you're not happy
Great video Keith, you’re absolutely right regards physical media, not only alive and well but 2024 was a truly awesome year for us collectors. Great list as expected. Can’t argue with any of the choices. The NeverEnding Story truly is the best collectors edition of 2024. It’s the most I’ve spent on a single release but as it’s my childhood favourite, had to get it and was so glad I did. Enjoy watching the different versions mate. Heads up, the documentary is a bittersweet watch in places. The Atreyu actor Noah Hathaway has definitely been through the mill, but since this was filmed he’s reportedly on the up and up, which is good to hear. I completely agree regards the Elm Street release mate. I know we’ll be in the small minority, but you rightly picked up on several issues . I went for the 4K steelbook release and have no urge to get this collectors release for the sake of dodgy artwork and a load of art cards. Hopefully they up their games with future Elm Street releases. Keep up the good work mate. All the best.
The NeverEnding Story has a very sad history when you think about it. Apparently the girl who plays the princess in it had a very rough time as well. I'm not sure if the documentary covered that or not. Probably not because it's very controversial. But as you said the movie is a childhood favourite of mine and there was no way I could ever pass on a release like this. Like I said in the video I didn't even have to think about it. It was going to number one in my list as soon as It got announced. I think it's a testament to how great last year was in terms of collectors releases when I have the Nightmare on Elm Street collection as my worst. It's not to say that I hate it I just wish it was so much more than it is. Fingers crossed the rumoured 4K release for the rest of the collection will look a hell of a lot better. A huge thank you once again Adam for stopping by and sharing your thoughts. Really appreciate the heads up on that documentary as well.
@@millerman9991wouldn't hold your breath there Keith Warner Brothers are doing it guaranteed it will be a flimsy thing like the Blu Rays with 2 films on one disc
Some more bad news regarding Neverending Story. My friend went to a film museum in Germany and he said the real Falcor (?) is in the reception and after years of people climbing on him and not being looked after he’s in a real bad state and falling to bits.
@markpugh6808 I wouldn't say that Mark. Warner Brothers bring out some fantastic collectors releases. But yeah you can't help but think of that horrible Blu-ray release that we got.
lol The Never Ending Story, insane size, like Charmed the Book of Shadows, you would need that stand, for The Never Ending Story book too, but it's great. It would look nice on that stand. Oh about A Nightmare on Elm Street, i thought the box had a retro look like a rental VHS look, but the front picture of the steelbook, stole the show of the presentation of that set, and brilliant picture and audio. two of my favourites of 2024 has to be 101 films Alligator 1 & 2 , picture was great on Alligator 4k disc, the other was HMV's E first edition of Terrifier 3, "that" also got delivered on Christmas Eve 2024, so a Christmas horror movie to watch on Christmas Eve, a good but crazy one that was. oh I don't know why the US didn't get HDR with their version, as we in the UK did though.
Hey Nigel. I can understand what they were trying when it comes to the Nightmare on Elm Street set but like I said in the video when you consider the movie itself I think there's so much more they could have done. I never picked up the release of alligator and I really need to add that to my list. As for terrifier 3 I do have a very deluxe edition coming my way hopefully in the next couple of weeks. Cannot wait to finally check out the movie. Heard great things about it.
2024 was a great year for collectors and i do agree with you in regard's to A Nightmare on Elm Street, it felt so vanilla its almost criminal that WB dropped the ball that hard. My biggest issues were the booklet being totally pointless and the reverse poster art, WTF! Someone needs to contact WB and send them a Second Sight collectors edition to show them how its done!
9 out of 10 times I have no issues when it comes to Warner Brothers collector releases but for some strange reason every time I look at the nightmare release it slowly becomes a little worse for me. There is so much more they could have done with it and I'm hoping they will put a bit more effort into the rumoured 4K release that we are getting for the rest of the collection. Fingers crossed there is some truth behind that. But a huge thank you Matthew for taking the time to stop by and check out my video. I really do appreciate it
i wish they'd go back to making really cool collector's editions that aren't just a box, but something like an object from the movie that has the discs inside. like they did for the first two Phases of the MCU, with the briefcase and the Orb. or the treasure chest from PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN. or all the other awesome editions you have in the background ;)
Yeah I miss that myself. I am getting a little bit of that in this video with The NeverEnding Story edition because as you can see it's a replica of the book from the movie. I definitely want to see more of that in the future but unfortunately things seem to have changed in recent years. Maybe it's a good thing because it gets harder and harder to find room for some of those bigger editions.
Yeah as a matter of fact I have a fantastic custom-made box set coming my way of Halloween. This might be one of the biggest items I'll ever owned in my collection. Where I'm going to find the room I have absolutely no idea. But I guarantee you I will find some. I always do
I was wondering about physical media because I read last week that LG have stopped making bluray players and today I was in my local Currys and it has two bluray players in it and Argos only sells two models.
Samsung stopped making players a few years ago LG stopped recently but the fact is LG haven't put any new players out for years anyway because they weren't selling many most peoples go to is Sony and Panasonic if Sony and Panasonic decide to give up the ghost then you should be worried about the so called death of Physical Media
Yeah Laura I have to agree with everything Mark said. LG 4K players weren't particularly popular so it's no great loss that they are no longer making them. Panasonic and Sony have not brought out a new player for years and I can understand why. How can you possibly improve on what they gave us already. But if both of those companies decided to pack it in that's when I'll get somewhat concerned. As of right now we have nothing to worry about
To be honest I never really talked about what I do for a living on my channel. There are certain parts of me that I would like to keep private. I hope you understand that
People panicked because LG left the player market which means nothing really. If anything too much physical media is releasing, but i will say physical media in gaming is in genuine trouble unfortunately. Theres so many nice editions and posters of last night in soho, john clancy always has a nice one on show. With the freddy boxset it even has the wrong freddy on it but was glad to get the original artwork on the steelbook.
Yeah I have to agree with you Steve when it comes to physical Media in gaming. I think it's in a massive low at the moment. To be honest I'm not that emotionally attached to owning games physically. The last three games I bought I actually got digitally. I think I'm almost preparing myself for the future especially if the PlayStation 5 pro is anything to go by and the lack of a disc drive. Thankfully when it comes to the movie side of physical Media I think it's healthier than ever. Whether it will live up to last year that remains to be seen. But its off to a great start so we will see how it goes. Thank you as always Steve for taking the time to stop by. Always appreciated
2024 was an amazing year for physical media, with so many fantastic releases. Id have to say my top 5 are: Super Mario Bros 1UP Edition Twister Collectors Edition Galaxy Quest collectors edition Demolition Man limited edition The Neverending Story limited book edition. But I've so many great editions, like the North By Northwest set, The Hitcher, Jaws 3 & The Revenge, the list goes on. As for the death of physical media? Well, it's utter gonads! It's never been more alive, and with Shout! getting the rights to 150 Hong Kong movies like Hard Boiled, and with many boutique labels upcoming releases as well as studio collectors editions coming, it's going from strength to strength. In fact, I think this year will blow last year out of the water. So i say to all those people who are making these awful clickbait videos about it's death: you're nothing but clickbait parasites. Physical media forever!! Great video, My friend. All the best!
This comment is pure poetry. I couldn't agree more with everything you said Mike. Apparently there was an announcement for a lot of Clint Eastwood movies heading to 4k including the Dirty Harry collection. Of course not forgetting about the rumoured Nightmare on Elm Street collection as well. There is so much to look forward to and when it comes to all of that garbage about the death of physical Media I simply ignore it now. Just look at your top 5 it's a testament to how great last year was when most of your top 5 didn't enter mine even though every single one of them are fantastic releases. A huge thank you as always Mike for taking the time to stop by and put this down for me. It's always appreciated
Not good is it. Warner Media Ent. (UK) using the American quad poster artwork, instead of using the now classic Graham Humphrey's UK cinema quad artwork back in 1984. What got me was the American rental VHS style design Warner's applied to the hardcase, which looked totally out of place. Even the 4K standard edition sleeve looked bland and highly unimaginative. As for The Neverending Story, the cost just wasn't worth it. As to whether ViaVision will release a standard 4K further down the line, I might consider picking it up.
I think it's a testament to how good last year was when it comes to physical Media when you consider that my worst release Was A Nightmare on Elm Street. It could have been so much more but I'm still very happy to have it in my collection. As for The NeverEnding Story I think it's worth every single penny. Comfortably the best release to come out last year. Cannot wait to go through it all.
@@millerman9991Still a big release for Warner's, and it did deserve a better treatment. Well, you know me, North by Northwest. Only the best will do. Oh, and The Hitcher. Even though I still don't mind the Momentum DVD release. 😊
@dr.impossibleofcounterpunc1984 yeah North by northwest is such a fantastic release. Would love to see a lot more of that from Warner Brothers this year
@millerman9991 I think I need to invest in The Searchers on 4K. I saw some shots of it and was very impressed. If High Fidelity are involved, then it's an A+. I would like to see Vincente Minnelli's Lust for Life on Warner 4K. I watched the film on standard DVD just recently, and it looks terrible. Freddie Young's incredible cinematography and the subject matter being Vincent van Gogh with Kirk Douglas playing the painter in question. The movie desperately needs restoration and 4K treatment.
@dr.impossibleofcounterpunc1984 as I'm sure you know westerns are a bit of a blind spot to me. But I have seen the searchers very recently and I really enjoyed it. Definitely going to be picking that up myself. I'm presuming it's an American only release because I couldn't find it on Amazon UK.
Great video Keith...... looking forward to One flew over the cookoos nest on 4k this year 😝
That will be a massive release Roy. Definitely a day one purchase for me. Thank you as always for stopping by
Great video Keith, I agree with you mate, physical media is absolutely NOT dead.
Thank you as always Gary for stopping by
@@millerman9991Lethal weapon films in 4K tho I wouldn't part with my Dvd set as it is signed personally by Danny Glover after I met him at Comic Con a few years back
How great would it be to get Mel Gibson to sign it as well. Never say never
Always love ya videos keith, long may it continue, and long live physical media and harrrrrd rigid boxes too lol.
A huge thank you as always Kris for stopping by and for the kind words. All the best to you my friend.
Great video, Keith. It was a good year indeed. Hope this new one is at least as good as the last one. Thank you for the video and take care my friend
That was the first movie I ever saw at a cinema 😊
That Never Ending Story edition is absolutely mad... and amazing at the same time.
I hope all is well with you
Great Video Keith, good list of ur top 4Ks of 2024
Thank you as always Matthew for taking the time out of your day to stop by and check it out. It's always appreciated my friend
@@millerman9991 Yeah Zavvi and HMV are showing only a Dirty Harry collectors edition but hopefully there may be a 4K box of the 5 films as well 🤞
That is a huge fingers crossed John. I can't see it happening though. But I will take the collector's release for Dirty Harry all day long
Thanks to you Kieth, 2024 really was an exceptional year for me.
Great video. That is one crazy good looking special edition of The Neverending Story (!)
Yeah I still can't get over how good it looks. Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by and check it out

Yeah I got to say,, that imprint and umbrella entertainment, ,,
From Australia, ,,
Thire boxset releases are absolutely brilliant, ,,,
Cheers Keith 🍻 👍
I hope all is well
@millerman9991 no problem Keith,,,
Thanks,,,
🤘
@lee-the-artist-1392 always my pleasure
@millerman9991 yes house of the devil,,
Good film,,,, 👍,,,
Lead actor,,
Also starred in manhunter,,,
A brilliant film,,,,
I can't remember his name kieth,,
Hope you know who I mean ,,👌,,
@lee-the-artist-1392 I must look into it.
I hope all is well
When Nightmare on Elm Street is your worst of the year I think that tells you just how awesome of a year we had. 😊
@@millerman9991that’s very true there are tons of different mediabooks here.
@Alamo-gs9yb yeah I'm a huge fan. Would love to add a few more to my collection
At least the steelbook looked good 😂
Anyway, great video and here's to more in 2025!
I am 46 and only watched the hitcher for the first time
On Saturday: loved it, but I spent the entire movie thinking that the young lad was in fact rh killer and it was all in his head, as rutger keeps appearing everywhere, which was impossible , I actually wrote a better version in my head as watching it, still
Awesome though
DONE !
Happy Days
Hi Keith enjoyed the video looking forward to the Clint Eastwood releases
Yeah I'm looking forward to it myself Mike. The Dirty Harry collection on 4k. Sign me up
Hey Keith, another great video and some fine selections. and the idea that physical media is dead, or dying is ridiculous Just a bunch of Clickbait. and if the nightmare on elm street was the biggest disappointment than it truly was a sensational year looking forward to this year already looking great take care of yourself and will see you in the next one👍
Great video as usual mate, no surprises with the number 1 choice, by far the stand out release of the year
Like I said in the video Jason I didn't even have to think about it. I knew it was going to be my number one even when It got announced. Thank you as always for stopping by
Nice Video Mate !!
Personally I loved while
Not all collectors but mainly steelbook & they are as follows :
1.Chinatown
2.Steelbook Mandalorian set
3.Andor Steelbook
4.Obi Wan Steelbook
5. Nightmare on Elm Street
As I say not all collectors but they are my top !
Thank you Keith.
Thanks again Cheekster
Great list. I have the N by NW, and Soho CE's. To fill out my top 5 I would go with the Third Man, Oppenheimer, and King Kong CE's.
Very hard to argue with your top 5. Every single one of them are fantastic releases. I think King Kong and Oppenheimer would have been in my top 10
I always cry like a bitch at the horse in the swamp scene. Not watched the film since the 80s because of that scene!
If I saw Freddy Kruger in ultra high definition, I'd scream like Homer Simpson and run for the hills! 😂😂😂
Great video, Keith.
Second sights the brood and scanners pre order open! I have ordered both ! Love the brood
I will definitely be picking up scanners. That is going to be a massive release. Cannot wait
Looks amazing ! 4k transfer approved by croneberg
Honesty cannot wait to see it
Nice one Keith, with a good selection of movies and releases.
The Nightmare On Elm Street edition is ok, but certainly a bit of a lazy release.
Yeah I think it's a testament to how great last year is when my worst release is A Nightmare on Elm Street. By no means terrible I just wish it was more than it is. A huge thank you as always Chris for stopping by
Just pre order dirty Harry pale rider and the outlaw Josey Wales 4k steelbooks
I hope all is well
I've just got the neverending story set and it is amazing. There's also a space for a 6th disc so I put in my copy of part 2.👍
I'm so happy to hear that you picked it up yourself Steven. Like I said in the video I didn't have to think about what was going to be number one. I never noticed you could put another disc into the set.
Terrifier Art Attack Set off Umbrella Entertainment is a great set too tho mine is dinged on the corners due to crap packaging not happy about that
Hopefully I will have mine in the next couple of weeks.
@@millerman9991 haha, that is very true! i shouldn't wish for it to come back, because i have no room left 😅
@@millerman9991 that NEVERENDING STORY edition is epic. too expensive for me, but definitely beautiful ☺
As of right now we have nothing to worry about
how do you afford these editions? what do you do for work?
To be honest I never really talked about what I do for a living on my channel. There are certain parts of me that I would like to keep private. I hope you understand that
Just pre order street trash collector's set
I just kicked out my Girlfriend because she didnt buy me any cool stuff like Helen did for Keith!
😎
Ellen is incredibly generous. She has massively contributed over the years to my collection. She loves all of this as well
2024 was an amazing year for physical media, with so many fantastic releases. Id have to say my top 5 are:
Super Mario Bros 1UP Edition
Twister Collectors Edition
Galaxy Quest collectors edition
Demolition Man limited edition
The Neverending Story limited book edition.
