This happens all the time. It's quite common with international market expansions. Blue Moon started out as an imported product in Brazil, now it's being produced here. The price went down by about 20% but the cost has certainly decreased by more than that, and of course, the quality of the beer has changed dramatically. It is a business after all.

You are exactly right but I have been told that sazerac's juice has an aged enough to dump yet so they are still putting the good juice in new bottles for now I put two cases away just in case I believe the same way you do let's see what happens when the new stuff comes out
I agree. I tell my buddies that don’t drink bourbon… It’s like the cokes in a glass bottle from Mexico compared to the cokes in a plastic bottle from the gas station. Both good, one of them is way better in every way than the other. I’ll drink either one but prefer the glass bottle
You should try the triangle test : 2 glasses are the same and the 3rd is different. That way you really know if there is a difference if you can pick the odd one out!
The blue top once opened up and setting for a couple months does came down the harshness but the blacktop is just a tad better first world problems you know
I agree. I have 6 bottles with the black screw cap and 2 bottles of the blue screw cap. There is a liquor store in Florence, KY that still has some cases of the black top bottles for $29.99 per bottle. Every trip I make for work to KY, I stop and pick more up to bunker for retirement. 🥃

Black top is definitely better, but blue top is still solid at the price imo. Theres better bottles in the same price point like OGD 114, but I still enjoy some blue top
The black top was older as you said. Our bourbon group blinded these and all agree there is a difference. As far as better that's all up to your palate. A true blind would be the bottles open for the same amount of time.

Dude I love your content but your so wrong on this. It’s a bottled in bond product. It was sold to Saz last year. So by default, they bought all of Brown Formans product. You won’t be getting new Saz product for a few more years. It has to be aged at least 4 years and distilled in 1 season. You’re buying into hype. It’s just a new bottle. Hell even the label still has brown foreman’s distillery number lol.

Try blind two unopened bottles, having a bottle breath knocks off harshness and let's the flavors come out
