I have white Max Air vent cover over are bathroom vent. A couple of years ago I'm guessing from the sun beating on it it deteriorate are cover underneath it to small pieces.
I wonder how much hotter it would be with black covers. We live in Iowa so it's not near as hot as southern states.

They don’t fit flush with the roof so what good will the screen do on the louvers?
Great job!! I have a bee question regarding our Truma. When we had our Tiffin Open Road 34PA serviced for the season after sitting for a few months, a wasp nest was found inside the Truma unit on the fan. The unit had to be disassembled, the nest removed and then reassembled. Truma says not to install any sort of screen on the inside of the louvered access door, so we want to come up with a temporary external screen or cover for the Truma door, when it’s not being used or while in storage. Do you have any suggestions, and also a suggestion on how to affix it to the outside of the unit without scratching anything? Thanks so much! Love your channel!
We never had that issue but would contact Truma to see what they suggest.
I think Black Caulk works best.

Izzy, I don’t understand the need for these screens. The Max Air fan in our TT has a screen covering the fan that will keep bugs from entering the coach. We also have a screen on the skylight over the bed, again keeping bugs out. Were you having problems with bugs?

I did the same thing a couple of years ago. It works great! Does not restrict airflow and keeps bugs out.

Great job, just remember that certain glue sticks when in heat will loosen up and that could make the screen come loose. Try some gorilla glue or caulking over top of your hot glue sticks.
Looks good, I just recently took off my vent and went with the Maxxfan deluxe fans.. they have covers built in
I use the Maxxfan Deluxe too. Love them. Low profile too.

I hadn't thought about this but it makes sense. The last thing you want is wasps, hornets, or bees building a nest there. I had to replace a converter on a pop-up many years ago when bees got into it and built a nest.

Great job, Izzy. I'm kind of surprised the fan covers don't come with the screens already in place. I can imagine without the screens some insects might try to make a nest in there, such as wasps.

I agree, just crazy that they come without the screens. I think I would send it back and get my money back. I have stopped buying items that require more money to be spent for something that should be included.

I think white covers are better than the black covers that seem to be the choice of manufactures. I live in Florida and the sun destroys black covers in a couple of years.

Nope it was 100 degrees with no issue
I don’t have an RV but I learned here that there is black hot melt glue. I’ll have to get some.
I think it’s done mostly to keep bees and wasps from nesting under the cap.
But there's already a screen down below in the fan isn't there? Why have two separate screens? Seems like overkill
