Own a Ventana 34 foot diesel pusher for 7 years. Test drove Dutchstar 3836 and liked it, but I'm thinking this next RV purchase will be my 5th and last so want to go big with the 4369, 2025. Tough to: store, pay off with no payments, find camp / parking. Probably why I have kept my 34 footer for so long. Triple slide so i like the room and not too long. Tempting, ...that 4369!

Husband and I have had our Dutch Star for three years and love it. We RV a bit differently from "Road Warriors" as we travel to a Metropolitan area and spend 30 days exploring the local and regional offerings and then travel to another Metropolitan destination and do the same. It lets us feel the local vibes more. Our Dutch Star, we looked at and test drove several other Class A Motorcoach brands but the Dutch Star simply felt like it was meant for our home away from home. You're correct about the ride, the lack of noise and that wonderfully tigjt turning radius! We're in our 70s so the slower pull doesn't concern us at all. ACTUALLY its a good reminder that faster means longer stopping distance requirements! I personally would opt for "slower" (not by much) rather than faster simply for safely getting there (point A to point B) is what it's all about. Have absolutely ZERO REGRETS about the choice we made.

Here my two cents as a diesel mechanic for 47yrs and owned a heavy towing company for 27yrs / I would buy the Super C hands down , first service and repair cost are going be half as much over a Class A because of ease of access to the engine and drivetrain. And at $225.00 hr shop cost time is money. Now think about when you break down and you need a tow todays Class A are a flipping nightmare to try and hook up too and super dangerous to tow with that steerable third axle, the Super C are a hook and book in the towing world/ Now I’m just giving you my take on real world , we bought a 34ft 5th wheel and a DRW truck to start our retirement life

We purchased a super C in 2015 and owned it 4 years. Put approximately 23,000 miles and enjoyed the coach. We then decided in 2019 to look for a premium class A after looking at them at different rally's and shows. Main reason was additional living space and less noise. Our choice came down to Newmar King Air and Entegra Cornerstone. Both are awesome but we chose the Entegra Cornerstone because of floorplan. Quiet, smooth and incredible ride. We travel 5 to 6 months out of the year. Definitely a different experience between a Super C and Class A. All the best!

I have a Tiffin Super C and the two factors that pulled me in that direction are 1) maintenance and repairs are much easier on a Super C and 2) safety in the event of a crash. For others I can understand if they don’t worry or place these two points as high in their priorities.

  • @rollingeezer
    @rollingeezer 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

I have a class A but love the Super C’s. The one factor that presents a barrier for me to own a Super C is access to many of the really nice resorts in the country that are class A only. Since super C isn’t a true RV class I think it would be wise for the industry to add a super C class and define exactly what the coach needs to have to be in that class. That could potentially allow many of the class A only resorts to consider adding super C’s inside their resort.

I know you are huge Newmar fans. But I would really suggest you to drive an American Dream . I believe they are much better value than the Newmar lines, You get so much more coach for the money. The Liberty Bridge is the best foundation on the industry period. I had a HT Nautica 34RX, and trade up last year to an American Coach 45T. The ride blows me away compare to a single rear axle. One of the biggest sealing point for me was the REV service center the tech are just the best. They simply care about your experience and go above and beyond to ensure you are happy with your rig. Besides you buddy Matt can get you a great deal!

I really enjoyed your video... nicely done! As a long time Dutch Star owner (6 yrs), I agree with everything you said about the Newmar Dutch Star 4369 from ride to quietness to space and the turn radius. My wife is mobility limited so the 4369 allows us to enjoy seeing this wonderful country while we visit bucket list sites, family and relatives around the U.S. The space allows us to travel while she is up or resting.... while we close the distance doing 65 mph. We are blessed to have that capability and the freedom to roam! Here's hoping your dreams come true!!

Bought a 2017 Ventana 4369 in 2021 that was fully loaded with many many options. Would I like the extra 50 hp, torque and Ind. suspension of the Dutch Star? Sure, but I can’t justify the extra cost for my budget. In the end, driving is about 1/10th of our RV experience. By the way it’s our first RV and it is super easy to drive. My wife took lessons from a professional and her comment was she couldn’t believe how easy it was to drive it. Thank you Newmar for Comfort Steer and the passive tag!

We had a gas Class A for 12 years and went to a Dynaquest last year, no comparison. Super C is so much safer than the Class A. We Boondock maybe 10% and it’s nice not to have to worry about clearances. We are looking for a Country Coach Veranda as a 2nd coach for Cross Country traveling.

Great video, so glad you did test drive and talked about differences in ride and turning radius. have similar dilemma, have had Class A gasser and now short DP, want to move up at some point to either Ventana/Dutchstar or Super C. Tired of getting blown around and correcting all the time, short diesel is better than gasser but still can be a lot of effort on windy days, from what I hear super C are just planted going down the road, which makes sense with steer wheels way out on front and just hood for wind to blow on. Turning radius suffers because wheels are way out front but not all super C ar the same, Newmar has longest wheelbase while Renegade is in the middle and Dynamax is the shortest for best maneuverability with some tradeoffs in tail swings. One thing not mentioned is boon docking / offroad many Super C's have locking rear diffs and much more ground clearance than a DP and I could use that in some places.

I purchased a 2024 Fleetwood Discovery 38W and came from the factory without insulation under the dash and over the generator. Without insulation in the very front of the RV under the dash... AIR NOISE and "DUST" comes through spaces in the dash. At first we thought is was the front window not sealed properly. That air noise sounds like it's in different places... but it's the air noise coming from out front of the RV above the generator. Someday... look under and up and see plywood dash and no insulation! CRAZY... I spent $300,000 plus tax and no insulation. I went to Home Depot and installed my own insulation and sticky tape and now the noise is gone! In my next life I will buy a Newman for sure...

  • @wesalexander2693

Great video, MJ and Izzy. We think the 4369 DS is a sweet spot in terms of ride, handling and room. We've had our 2020 for 3 1/2 years, it has been a wonderful coach, there have been very few issues with it. The floor plan is perfect for us and for its size, it's a pretty maneuverable coach, with the passive tag axle and Newmar's Comfort Steer it is very stable on the highway and really resists crosswinds and effects of passing truck traffic. There have been a few times climbing steep grades while pulling our Jeep Wrangler when we wished for a little more power (Mountain Aire?), but we just stick to the right lane and eventually we get there.

Now that you’ve driven the Newmar Dutch star and the Newmar supreme air super C. In your opinion, which one has the best ride handling and which one is the quietest going down the road I like the idea of a real truck chassis underneath you instead of a motorhome chassis. But I do like the sharper, turning radius of the motorhome along with the independent front suspension all on air ride.

We’ve been going back and forth. Super Star vs Dutch Star vs Canyon Star. Luckily for us, kids in college keep us from making this decision for at least 4 years. 2 down, 3 tuitions to go 😅. The one thing everyone says is the super C is a safer ride due to front engine protection. I wonder if there is any crash safety data that can give comparisons between the styles. Obviously no one is going to purposely crash a $400,000+ motor home for data crunching but there has to be some kind of information out there.
Love your honesty in videos. Hopefully we won’t miss y’all at the next gathering

We have a 2023 Dutch Star 4081. We love the livability of the coach and I've taken it to Nappanee for a little warranty work. My biggest complaint so far has been the front shocks (Billstein). They are very harsh on expansion joints and transitions to bridges. Currently, my coach is at NIRVC Nashville for some work and I'm having them install the Koni EVO shocks up front. If I'm not mistaken, from '24 on, Newmar is installing Koni's on the Dutch Star. This was a great video...Keep it up!

My choice would always be the Class A. At the end of a long day’s drive, the C, being a truck, will have you both far ore tired and enjoying it less. Size is also important on a long trip. Noise fatigue is a thing! Go with quiet as you can find! But all of those comfort things come after SAFETY. Which is built better, stronger, and will protect you best when push comes to shove and you need all it can offer.

@@EndlessRVinghi guys are you going to come out with the Phaeton review? I think you briefly mentioned the Phaeton in one of the NIRVC show videos. I’m deciding between the Phaeton and Ventana [40 footers]. I know the tag puts the Ventana ahead. Any other factors to consider? I’m closer to Red Bay if I need to go to factory for anything though. Thoughts?

The super C is on HD truck chassis and designed for heavy towing thats why has Big Power, that being said you won't get a comfortable Ride in them 🎉
