WOW! When he showed the framing, I was impressed. It keeps everything stable. And you had a smooth drive. Good turning.
Husband and I have had our Dutch Star for three years and love it. We RV a bit differently from "Road Warriors" as we travel to a Metropolitan area and spend 30 days exploring the local and regional offerings and then travel to another Metropolitan destination and do the same. It lets us feel the local vibes more. Our Dutch Star, we looked at and test drove several other Class A Motorcoach brands but the Dutch Star simply felt like it was meant for our home away from home. You're correct about the ride, the lack of noise and that wonderfully tigjt turning radius! We're in our 70s so the slower pull doesn't concern us at all. ACTUALLY its a good reminder that faster means longer stopping distance requirements! I personally would opt for "slower" (not by much) rather than faster simply for safely getting there (point A to point B) is what it's all about. Have absolutely ZERO REGRETS about the choice we made.
Thanks for sharing
We purchased a super C in 2015 and owned it 4 years. Put approximately 23,000 miles and enjoyed the coach. We then decided in 2019 to look for a premium class A after looking at them at different rally's and shows. Main reason was additional living space and less noise. Our choice came down to Newmar King Air and Entegra Cornerstone. Both are awesome but we chose the Entegra Cornerstone because of floorplan. Quiet, smooth and incredible ride. We travel 5 to 6 months out of the year. Definitely a different experience between a Super C and Class A. All the best!
We too test drove the Dutch Star at the VIP expo. Absolutely loved it. We are the couple mentioned with the New Aire and yes we did buy the 4081 Onyx. Couldn’t be happier. Thanks for all your videos.
Congrats
We recently bought a ‘19 Dutch Star 4018, love it! Live full time in it
I have a Tiffin Super C and the two factors that pulled me in that direction are 1) maintenance and repairs are much easier on a Super C and 2) safety in the event of a crash. For others I can understand if they don’t worry or place these two points as high in their priorities.
Thank you Izzy and MJ for taking me for a ride with you in this Dutch Star. Very nice. You know how I love New Mars. I love Super Cs. Thank you again guys!
we love our dutch star, it's 38 foot with 4 slides, we wanted shorter and with 4 slides we have what we consider more than enough room, oh did i mention we love our dutch star.
lol good to hear :)
Love the Dutch Star !! It’s so cool they let you test drive the rigs. Thanks for taking us along.
It was so awesome! What a ride. 😊
Very Cool !
hey guys! I had a blast meeting both of you and taking the test drive through the countryside in TN!! Please let me know if you will be in Nappanee for service or just to hang out. I'll be around!
thanks again!
Andy
We had a blast doing this with you. We'll be out there late fall and will definitely reach out. :) Thanks Andy!
Bought a 2017 Ventana 4369 in 2021 that was fully loaded with many many options. Would I like the extra 50 hp, torque and Ind. suspension of the Dutch Star? Sure, but I can’t justify the extra cost for my budget. In the end, driving is about 1/10th of our RV experience. By the way it’s our first RV and it is super easy to drive. My wife took lessons from a professional and her comment was she couldn’t believe how easy it was to drive it. Thank you Newmar for Comfort Steer and the passive tag!
We had a gas Class A for 12 years and went to a Dynaquest last year, no comparison. Super C is so much safer than the Class A. We Boondock maybe 10% and it’s nice not to have to worry about clearances. We are looking for a Country Coach Veranda as a 2nd coach for Cross Country traveling.
Here my two cents as a diesel mechanic for 47yrs and owned a heavy towing company for 27yrs / I would buy the Super C hands down , first service and repair cost are going be half as much over a Class A because of ease of access to the engine and drivetrain. And at $225.00 hr shop cost time is money. Now think about when you break down and you need a tow todays Class A are a flipping nightmare to try and hook up too and super dangerous to tow with that steerable third axle, the Super C are a hook and book in the towing world/ Now I’m just giving you my take on real world , we bought a 34ft 5th wheel and a DRW truck to start our retirement life
Thanks for your thoughts!
We got a 4081 2024 special order from the factory we sat down with them and changed several things no problem we love our Dutch star 😊
Nice!
We got the 2023 DS 3709 last year coming from a Bay Star. No comparison. The Dutch Star is a great coach with most everything we could ask for. Had the same feelings about the coach as MJ and observations about power and tracking as Izzy. Great review as usual.
We have a 4081 2023 and are so happy , the drive almost permit
Love our 4081!!
Great!
Really enjoy your presentation. I'm personally not a fan of coaches only because I like my big truck. With that said, I'm very intrigued to watch more of your videos.
Well thank you!
I am a huge fan of the Dutch Star, they are high end and priced fairly well for what you get! Great review, I like the test drive part!
Thanks for watching!
We signed papers on our nee 2024 Dutch Star 4369...it is so awesome... we had an inspector check it out and only found some minor adjustments. Drives great and really quiet. It's hard to find good quality in today's world, but Newmar is doing it right.
Whoa- thanks for taking us along on your ride BUT way out of our league and pocketbook. Maybe in another lifetime. We just ordered a small Class C that was a whole lot of $$$’s to us. We haven’t even taken delivery yet. I’m already fretting over DMV (don’t know how much yet) and insurance costs. Hats off to the RICH people that can afford the luxury! Good for all of you!
We’ve been going back and forth. Super Star vs Dutch Star vs Canyon Star. Luckily for us, kids in college keep us from making this decision for at least 4 years. 2 down, 3 tuitions to go 😅. The one thing everyone says is the super C is a safer ride due to front engine protection. I wonder if there is any crash safety data that can give comparisons between the styles. Obviously no one is going to purposely crash a $400,000+ motor home for data crunching but there has to be some kind of information out there.
Love your honesty in videos. Hopefully we won’t miss y’all at the next gathering
Thanks!
Thank you & I can only wish
Nice love the Dash and digital Instruments, Can't believe how well Andy did a reverse U-Turn..."dark face" LOL awesome RV's
He was awesome lol
Our favorite Newman floorplan. I'll take it in a Dutch Star or higher all day long.
Great video, MJ and Izzy. We think the 4369 DS is a sweet spot in terms of ride, handling and room. We've had our 2020 for 3 1/2 years, it has been a wonderful coach, there have been very few issues with it. The floor plan is perfect for us and for its size, it's a pretty maneuverable coach, with the passive tag axle and Newmar's Comfort Steer it is very stable on the highway and really resists crosswinds and effects of passing truck traffic. There have been a few times climbing steep grades while pulling our Jeep Wrangler when we wished for a little more power (Mountain Aire?), but we just stick to the right lane and eventually we get there.
Go big to the LA!! 605 hp!
sorry, just want to give a little advice, if you want a review, highlight the front first, after all the front parts are highlighted then the inside, so that buyers know the complete details and specifications, and it will increase your TH-cam views if you do that, thank you, Greetings from Indonesia
I know you are huge Newmar fans. But I would really suggest you to drive an American Dream . I believe they are much better value than the Newmar lines, You get so much more coach for the money. The Liberty Bridge is the best foundation on the industry period. I had a HT Nautica 34RX, and trade up last year to an American Coach 45T. The ride blows me away compare to a single rear axle. One of the biggest sealing point for me was the REV service center the tech are just the best. They simply care about your experience and go above and beyond to ensure you are happy with your rig. Besides you buddy Matt can get you a great deal!
#americancoach
I have a class A but love the Super C’s. The one factor that presents a barrier for me to own a Super C is access to many of the really nice resorts in the country that are class A only. Since super C isn’t a true RV class I think it would be wise for the industry to add a super C class and define exactly what the coach needs to have to be in that class. That could potentially allow many of the class A only resorts to consider adding super C’s inside their resort.
I haven’t ever drove a super c, my first RV was a class C 32ft Thor Freedom Elite but I sold it after two years and bought a class a 2018 Venesian with 5,000 miles on it and we love the class A 41 ft diesel pusher.
Awesome coach !
My choice would always be the Class A. At the end of a long day’s drive, the C, being a truck, will have you both far ore tired and enjoying it less. Size is also important on a long trip. Noise fatigue is a thing! Go with quiet as you can find! But all of those comfort things come after SAFETY. Which is built better, stronger, and will protect you best when push comes to shove and you need all it can offer.
Wholly buckets! That's some motorhome! ENJOY!!
Its beautiful
Recently traded in a 2022 40’ gas class-A for a 2025 40’ diesel (Freightliner xcr) class-A; night & day driving comfort. The diesel drives & handles much better, smoother and much much quieter.
You know what is amazing it doesn’t rattle like some other RVS.
Test drive a Renegade on the Cascadia platform before making your decision. I own a 2024 Renegade Explorer 40erb and it drives great on the open road although it could use improved turning radius.
We definitely will.
Wife’s always wins ? We like to think we do. Just keep on smiling and enjoying
Exciting! We are going for the 4081 because we really don't need the bigger rear bath. With the engine and torque being the same as the larger 4369, it"ll feel like a 4369 sport! Test driving one tomorrow in New York. Keep up the great videos!
Thanks for watching!
I need to go to Nashville expo next year and test drive a couple of units.
musiccitymotorhomeexpo.com
Awesome motorhome 👌👌
We agree!
Beautiful! Class A
Indeed it is!
We have a 2023 Dutch Star 4081. We love the livability of the coach and I've taken it to Nappanee for a little warranty work. My biggest complaint so far has been the front shocks (Billstein). They are very harsh on expansion joints and transitions to bridges. Currently, my coach is at NIRVC Nashville for some work and I'm having them install the Koni EVO shocks up front. If I'm not mistaken, from '24 on, Newmar is installing Koni's on the Dutch Star. This was a great video...Keep it up!
Thanks! Safe travels.
Very nice. Go with your gut feelings. Whatever you pick and work for you will be the right choice. Awesome coach. ❤ Happy 4th of July.
I would love for you to compare a Tiffan to the NewMar. A regular argument we have with friends.
Thought for sure you were going for the super c. That is a nice one though. Whatever you get, just enjoy. 😊
Super C vs Diesel Pusher ...... 2 completely different animals. Super C still the best for safety and serviceability
Class A👍🏻🇺🇲
Great video, so glad you did test drive and talked about differences in ride and turning radius. have similar dilemma, have had Class A gasser and now short DP, want to move up at some point to either Ventana/Dutchstar or Super C. Tired of getting blown around and correcting all the time, short diesel is better than gasser but still can be a lot of effort on windy days, from what I hear super C are just planted going down the road, which makes sense with steer wheels way out on front and just hood for wind to blow on. Turning radius suffers because wheels are way out front but not all super C ar the same, Newmar has longest wheelbase while Renegade is in the middle and Dynamax is the shortest for best maneuverability with some tradeoffs in tail swings. One thing not mentioned is boon docking / offroad many Super C's have locking rear diffs and much more ground clearance than a DP and I could use that in some places.
Super C FTW.
Gone from a “true” Super C to a “quality” Class A 👍
Looks like a great rig !!! We’ve never owned a motorized RV so we can’t make a comparison between the A and Super C. We should have our Super C by the middle of July 🤞🤞🤞
So exciting!! Post pics in the FB group when ya get it!
@@EndlessRVing Will do for sure !!
That Dutch Star was smooth
Very much so
@@EndlessRVing we are going full time in April. We are going to keep our travel trailer and then go into a class A. We like the Bay Star that you guys have
You should hire a surveyor even though it is a brand new RV!
What’s a surveyor?
@@EndlessRVing sorry folks, it was a typo I meant survey or inspection like those performed by Blue Ox. Good luck
The super C is on HD truck chassis and designed for heavy towing thats why has Big Power, that being said you won't get a comfortable Ride in them 🎉
You know I am a Newmar DP person but I did go from a Class C and my DP is easier to drive, We have been discussing downsizing from oue 45 footer.
Oh wow! Good luck with whatever you choose.
Dutch Star gives you a lot of bang for your buck.
It sure does. 👍
Newmar is missing out on using a Freightliner Cascadia for a super C especially what they charge for a Supreme Aire
Which mattress do you have from Broklyn bedding ? Beautiful coach , love Newmar . We are class A all the way
We have the dream foam mattress
@@EndlessRVing Thank you so much
❤❤❤😊😊😊
Class A - Dutch Star or up. Did you also test drive the Mountain Aire and up - curious if there was much difference in the ride or handling?
No difference in handling, just more power.
We are looking at a Fleetwood Bounder 33C for our first class A. Do you guys have any thoughts on this one. We have never driven one.
Have not heard to many good things about the Bounders.
How does it compare to Nellie with the L springs? Or a normal Bay Star?
Handling with LS is on par.
how do we find out about these shows to be able to go look at the coaches?
musiccitymotorhomeexpo.com
Do you have a link to the review of the unit you mentioned that was noisy while driving?
th-cam.com/video/dcQXjIyIfas/w-d-xo.htmlsi=0zOPuNEJjiF2so4m
@@EndlessRVinghi guys are you going to come out with the Phaeton review? I think you briefly mentioned the Phaeton in one of the NIRVC show videos. I’m deciding between the Phaeton and Ventana [40 footers]. I know the tag puts the Ventana ahead. Any other factors to consider? I’m closer to Red Bay if I need to go to factory for anything though. Thoughts?
For me, the Super C’s fell off the list because of the carpet.
Class A all the way! Too much space lost upon other things with the C…
How many steps to climb up into that Super C?
2
Those things sit tall, two steps to get you in the door maybe another 3-4 to the floor?
Class A. The living space is important in the long run. For my money everything is over priced. The Dutch Star is a nice coach but……
Buy a NEWELL 🫡✌🏾❤️
